Could the new information from Dutch crime investigator Peter R. De 
Vries open the way for potential new arrests in the Natalee Holloway case? Many have long thought it was only a matter of time before Joran Van der Sloot or the Kalpoe brothers opened their mouths and started bragging. A narcissist can never control themselves. They can never keep quiet or keep the focus off of what they have done.
Sources in judicial circles told the Amigoe that the recording ‘is definitely not made in Aruba’. But in the Netherlands. The next 48 hours will determine whether there will be arrests again for example. Part of a conversation between Peter R. de Vries and chief district attorney Hans Mos about the alleged confession of Joran van der Sloot, as could be read on the site Vkmag.com. The part of De Vries on the site was removed later. Vkmag.com got hold of a screen illustration and put it online.
WILLEMSTAD/ORANJESTAD – Justice and the police in Aruba are investigating ‘new indications’ that may give more clarity on the way the American teenager Natalee Holloway had ‘died in May of 2005 and how her body was disposed off’.
The Public Prosecutor (OM) of Aruba indicated today having received ‘recent’ information from the Dutch crime-journalist Peter R. de Vries, but the OM didn’t say what the information is. The OM indicated that in the interest of the case, they won’t give any interview on this case, not over the telephone and not before the camera. But it is De Vries that is actually looking for publicity, without lifting the veil. In a press release he mentioned that he has solved the disappearance of Holloway. This got the Dutch media moving. He says that he is 100 percent sure of his case.
“He solved the case with an ingenious hidden camera-action that his program has worked for months on. It will be shown on SBS 6 this coming Sunday evening, starting at 21:30 (16:30 local time, red.).”

After having seen the recordings, Hans Mos said that ‘the truth is going to be revealed’ and that he ‘can actually close the case’. All the OM in Aruba said: This information can to a great extent contribute to the mystery around the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Police and OM are currently investigating the trustworthiness and value of the information received.
Natalee Holloway’s mother Beth is in the Netherlands upon invitation of De Vries. He informed her of the breakthrough today. An emotional De Vries said before the SBS-camera today in the program Hart van Nederland that he could have told Beth what had happened exactly with her daughter. He didn’t want to say whether Joran van der Sloot had played a part in that, at least not before the broadcasting of This Sunday evening.

I hope the OM will do a thourough investigation that will bring the through to the surface that Urine caused the death of Natalee.
(Why would he dispose of Natalees body if it ‘just’ was an accident.)
It was just in a tv-newsshow that if he gets away with the ‘accident-scenario’ he can only be tried for disposing of the body with a max.sentence of only… 6 MONTHS!!!

Joran made a confession to a ‘friend’. This friend managed to get a confession from Joran with a secret camera. Joran told this to his parents. His attorney admitted it. This ‘friend’ received an amount of money from Peter de Vries. The Aruban ALE already confirmed his confession. It is not clear what he confessed. Peter will have a special show this sunday on Dutch SBS6.
I posted this on an earlier thread, but it’s relevant here.
According to this article, under Dutch law, if a conversation is surreptitiously taped or recorded, and ONE party involved is aware of this, then it is allowable in court.

My computer is still having fits, and I’ve got the flu or something similar, but here’s what I’m thinking:
First, we haven’t seen everything on this taped “confession,” at least I haven’t. We’ve gotten bits, summaries, selected disclosures and comments … and above all, the haunting video of Beth, standing alone.
Seeing that makes me want to head to Aruba with a pickaxe and knock on the van der Scum door.
But anyway … it doesn’t seem to me that all of this can be bogus, or that the vdScums have worked up an elaborate ruse to bring out yet another lead that proves false. Their interest would be in keeping quiet once Aruba’s “investigation” is over.
Those people who have seen the tapes seem to be exulting that this time Joran is trapped. DeVries, of course, and also Hans Mos. JQK seems to think this is it, although he apparently said on TV that Natalee’s body can’t be recovered.
But I’m not convinced that Joran is telling everything, filthy psychopath that he may be.
Apparently he said Natalee’s death was an “accident.” We don’t know what that means: it could be that something above and beyond an assault was involved, but something that wasn’t mean to cause death. It could be a deliberate lie. It’s still up in the air, so to speak.
He also said that the Kalpoes were not involved.
Does that mean not involved in assaulting her, in her “accidental” death, or in disposing of her body? Again, it’s not clear. Certainly the actions of the Kalpoes, their having been at the vdScum house from early on, PvdS’s paying their lawyer, their going to jail, and the remark “If they find the girl, they’ll see that (stuff) all over her,” suggests that this is simply a lie.
And he says that Natalee’s body was disposed of … but fails to name the person or persons involved in this. Or so I understand.
We’ll get more info from the deVries show, I suppose. But right now, we don’t know enough to sift through the remarks of someone who has lied time and time again and say, “Well, this bit is true,” or “That bit is not true.”
Meantime, what all of us who have followed the case CAN do is remain determined to press forward with the ‘boycott Aruba’ campaign. Remember, Aruba will be holding events in Boston and New York at the end of February.
Whatever the news is that comes out between now and then, the taped remarks of Joran seem to throw new light on van der Straaten’s early remark: “I’ve seen the evidence and you haven’t.”
Does this mean that he actually saw Natalee’s body, and/or was complicit in moving and/or disposing of it? Who knows?
I think that we MUST demand that Aruba investigates its ‘investigation’. Maybe beginning with a subpoena to van der Straaten would be a good first step. There are others.
Whatever the events in the days to come, we cannot let the idea gain credence that suddenly it’s OK to go to Aruba. We have supported Natalee’s family; let our support be redoubled.

From Dutch national news: Joran on the tape says he had sex with Natalee and after that she passed out. He after that with a friend dumped the body from a boat in the sea.
A few moments ago on the Dutch television with another crime reporter: Joran did have sex on the beach with Natalee. For some yet unknown reason Natalee died (drugs? alcohol?) and Joran called a friend (NOT one of the Kalpoe brothers) and took Natalee on board of his boat a dropped her at sea …

Aruban authorities have reopened the investigation into Natalee Holloway’s disappearance just weeks after closing it, officials there said Thursday.
Police and prosecutors convened in a crisis center Thursday to look into the case, said Adolfo Richardson, one of the lead investigators. They’re working off new evidence provided by a Dutch reporter who plans to air a television show revealing his results Sunday.
“This information may shed a new light” on how Holloway died, said a statement from the Aruban prosecutor’s office, which did not give details about the new evidence. Holloway, 18, disappeared in May of 2005 on a trip with other graduates of Mountain Brook High School.
Peter de Vries, a Dutch TV reporter who specializes in criminal investigations, said on his Web site that the evidence was uncovered using hidden cameras. De Vries interviewed Aruban officials last week, the Web site said.
Holloway’s mother, Beth Holloway, was in the Netherlands on Thursday to meet with de Vries and view the show, according to her ex-husband, Jug Twitty.
Twitty said he was cautiously optimistic about what would be presented.
“I’ll just cross my fingers and pray that they have something,” he said. “We’ve been down this road before.”

I just heard on NOS news here in the netherlands that Joran said that he took Natalee to the beach to have sex with her. She collapsed and died and he panicked and called another friend ( not Deepak or Satish) and he helped him disposing her body in the ocean (who’s boat they used ??? is still a mystery).

If it’s true that Joran and a friend dumped the body of Natalee in the sea without having established she indeed was dead (only a doctor can do that!!!) this makes him possibly guilty to something that comes close to murder! (that’s what the reporter in the national news said).
So he probably won’t get away with a few months prison!
(And we haven’t taken into account the possible rape, the violence, the drugging, kidnapping, etc…..)

I think Aruba is trying to backdoor their way out of this.
For 2 and a half years they (Aruba) hid evidence, protected predators, and protected their accomplices.
They attempted to utilize the standard Caribbean murder playbook — disappear the body and the media, family, and others will give up hope within a few weeks….tourism is hardly tarnished.
This backfired with the Internet. They have now closed the case despite having more than enough evidence to bring forth charges against Guido for heavy battery, Paulus for accomplice to murder, etc. etc….but then it all disappeared.
Closing the case was the trial balloon to see if they could make this go away. You will note that the case was closed after most Spring ’08 bookings for tourists had been completed. Things got worse. Then came Oprah and the revelation by AHATA that they have been engaged in a counterinformation campaign to minimize damage over the story. Then came Joran tossing wine in the face of Peter De Vries.
The gig is up. The plan is for Joran to claim an accidental overdose (what Aruban law enforcement has tested as a trial balloon several times as it is the only possible way that all of the government actors that participated in the cover-up can keep their jobs) and then have Pappy manipulate the courts so that Joran gets minimal time in the big house. Joran takes the fall for everyone and gets paid handsomely by those that he covers for…including AHATA.
You can watch…Joran is already taking full credit for disposal so that no one else goes down in flames. Aruban prosecutor Mos will not go after Paulus’ timeline, will not go after all of the co-conspirators involved – from the bed wetting buddy, to the gay casino dealer, to the WHITE security guard who lost his VCB shirt the night Natalee was murdered.
No one will question the Kalpoe’s knowledge of “the girl’s” condition. No one will question Van Der Straten about his knowing Natalee’s case was a homicide. No one will determine who the guy at the casino was hitting on Natalee.
It will be clean. Joran confesses to the accident. Aruban courts will slap his hand. Game over.
Tourists…you should come back now. You can trust Aruba, we finally got our man!

I hope he did not receive a penny because he stated that Joran’s case was a pro bono. Wasn’t he in charge of the fund set up to pay for Joran’s legal expenses? Doesn’t he have to account for those monies? If Joran is guilty then that would make J Tacopina an accessory after the fact and lying to the media and obstruction of an investigation and numerous attempts to derail further research and evidence. Accusations, if proven would not sit very well with the New York Bar Association.

That is a plausible scenario, but it doesn’t answer the nagging questions that would satisfy “this is the whole story”.
Why would Kalpoe brothers be stoicly silent for this whole time if they were not protecting themselves? Not to be on a witchhunt, but it just doesn’t make sense that they would throw up smokescreens and watch their entire island crumble. I hope that this video, and the fallout from it, answers the nagging questions.
I could accept that this started out as non-intentional (in the sense that reckless neglect is not intentional). Was she drugged (on purpose) then died (an accident)?
That would put K2 and the scene of the drugging, which would explain their silence.

The reason that Natalee probably collapsed was caused by drugs administered to her at C and C’s. IMHO This would be when Deepak was looking for Natalee, Joran and Satish. Natalee did not know Satish so while Joran was distracting Natalee, Satish was putting the drugs in her drink. Normally Freddy would have been the threesome not Satish. Satish did not know how much and administered an overdose. IMHO

Lawyer Spong said that Peter at the start of his undercover operation could not know of this latest jurisprudence because it’s only some two months old. (I think this jurisprudence is about strickt permissions that police must have from a judge to do or cooperate in such actions – but I’m not sure of the content of this jurisprudence.)
I always believed the death of Natalee was accidental. Don’t get me wrong I believe they drugged her etc but never meant death just some easy sex(disgusting). But to make Beth out to be a pushy Hilter ruining the case i WILL NEVER FORGIVE THE ISLAND of Aruba. Some Random Thoughts…
- I doubt anything much will come from this (sadly). Doesn’t Aruba require that a body be found before they will convict for murder? At best it would be a much lesser charge if my understanding is correct. Also, can’t Joran merely claim he was “teasing” the person who recorded him (some girlfriend)? Especially with no body found.
- My money is on Steve Crues being the friend with a boat. He tried to help Joran get off with his alibi testimony AND lied when he said that he didn’t really know Joran (later disputed by other people). Crues seemed quite motivated to help kill the investigation and I’ve always thought he played some role in this.
- Wouldn’t it be ironic if sending Joran to Holland to escape the scrutiny of the Aruba investigation was his actual undoing in the end? It looks like the Dutch are much more earnest about investigating Joran that the Arubans ever were. Maybe he was actually sent into the lion’s den!

Joran said he made the story up. Even if he disposed the body after an ‘accident’ the highest sentence he can get is 6 months in Aruba. That is if the video is enough prove because only a confession on video is not enough to get him convicted. There must be more evidence besides the confession.

“I just told him what he wanted to hear,” says Van der Sloot. That story boils down that he was on the beach with Natalee Holloway had sex that she became unwell and then deceased.
Then he would have called a friend, who (with a boat)came to the spot. The body of Holloway has taken away and dumped into the sea have.
“I am really been tricked” said Van der Sloot. He explained that he spoke to the man who had been setting him up, shortly before the show.
He wanted nothing more to say. Van der Sloot said he’s not angry at him.
Van der Sloot said he regret that his invented confession led to Peter R. De Vries letting the mother of Natalee travel to the Netherlands.
De Vries said he is not too bad. “he’s just doing his work. I think it will make good TV.” Van der Sloot added that Sunday evening he would look into the broadcast.
Van der Sloot said that his father has spoken with justice. This call was about the safety of his son.

They were willing to frame 2 innocent security guards and let them sit in jail for suspicion of murder and kidnapping. None of them went to look for Natalee. Joran is guilty!!! and also his father (who was a judge on the island),who helped him returning home after Natalee fainted. Jorans friend dropped the (still living)Natalee in the ocean
So why did Joran hide his sneakers? It was put as a possibility on the U.S. tv show 20-20 that he hid them because ‘prints in the sand/on the beach’
But if nobody but Joran and his accomplice after-the-fact knew exactly WHERE Natalee (allegedly) died (by that I mean, was she alive when dumped in the sea?) then why should he worry about sneaker prints on some seemingly random beach on an island ringed with beaches?
Makes no sense.
It WOULD make sense if there was something incriminating on them.
Such as blood.
No, I don’t believe his story on how she just suddenly up & died — a healthy young girl.
He was talking to a guy who obviously had morals, so he couldn’t come out & brag about killing her.
The guy should have played like a psychopathic tough guy, then we may have gotten more of the truth.
