Over the Memorial Day weekend, I heard again the music to “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” which I consider to be the greatest American patriotic musical work ever written.

The tune has lingered in my mind, and for whatever reason … irritation at no justice after two years, depression at what the California court did, outrage at Aruba, you name it … I decided to write a song for Natalee to that tune.

My apologies to anyone who thinks I made light of a great American work. After all, if we are not about justice for all, which means justice for every one, what ARE we about?

This is a first draft, and a pretty poor one. Here goes:

      Her precious life was taken by those filthy three;
The devil chuckled at the torments they will see.
The angels sobbed in grief — but later joined in glee
      To welcome Natalee!

      (chorus)

      Glory, glory Hallelujah,
      Glory, glory Hallelujah,
      Glory, glory Hallelujah,
      HER truth is marching on!

And now our boycott leaves Arubans all dismayed –
Wretched curs, who wail to those whom you betrayed!
Let our message find you trembling and afraid:
      We’ll fight for Natalee!

      (chorus)

Fellow Americans, it’s up to me and you:
Send this message to Oduber and his crew –
To save your island, this we demand of you,
      Justice for Natalee!

      (chorus)

We will stand with Beth and Dave forevermore,
Keeping people from Aruba’s loathesome shore.
Let them whine and wail — on them we’ll shut the door
      For love of Natalee!

      (chorus)

I guess out of everything in Aruba that is OBVIOUSLY corrupt the one thing that still sticks out in my mind is the tape from the police car. There were so many things said in that car by J2ks that could have had police questioning them for days…but to my knowledge no one ever did. Wow..why go to the trouble to tape them if nothing was going to be done with it. They probably could have had a complete confession on that tape and yet I doubt they would have questioned those creeps. I will ALWAYS want to know who Satish hit with a car.

    9. Waterboy (Jerry) on June 3rd, 2007 10:43 am

      to 1906,

First of all, I’m thinking that you think Paulus had no direct hand in Natalee’s death and rape, but rather he was the cover-up,pay-off, and disposal guy. Is that correct?

I’ll go along with the above, but there are a couple of things that make me think he might be directly involved, and he may be the main predator (as M.D. seems to think). 1. The casino video. If that’s not Paulus, I’ll eat crow (uncooked). He is definitely interested in Natalee, and you can see that it is a sexual interest. I think you see what I see. If I were in that position (which I would not be), I definitely would not behave the way Paulus did. 2. Paulus reputation in general-it is said that he is a womanizer, although I haven’t seen any documentation to that effect.

Okay, so I don’t believe Paulus is directly involved (I’m back and forth on this one)-although I do believe his involvement deserves a long prison sentence. He may have let Natalee die, by not getting her medical attention, and that’s murder in the first degree as far as I’m concerned.

Since you said that you don’t believe the rape, murder, and no telling what else took place in Joran’s apartment, I have to assume that you believe it took place in the “bunk house” (where the butane tanks are) area, like you have said in the past. Is that what you are thinking?

I will admit, that the bloody mattress does seem to point to the sloot cultic compound. Why didn’t they set it on fire? (the mattress) She may have been hurt and moved to the sloots. It was found in an area familiar to Joran.

I’m thinking it happen at the sloot abode, be it Joran’s apartment or somewhere else on the cultic compound, or at the Light House restaurant. (If you have read the story that the lady wrote about being drugged and raped, and beaten to near death, she said it happen at a “place” somewhere near the lighthouse.) I would like to know who owns, manages, or works at the restaurant. I’m wondering if we would quickly recognize a name. I’m curious about the Wever lady that “died” shortly after Natalee disappeared. Where did she work? Does a squawking bird should like a monkey over a cell phone?

I haven’t read Dave Holloway’s book (I need to); but from listening to him, there are several points that he goes back to over and over: 1. The bloody mattress 2. The confession that was retracted 3. The barrel that they said a body was in.

I think there are two other victims. First the 7 year old boy, and then the teenaged girl whose body they found while searching for Natalee. Dave Holloway mentioned this on Dana’s, but all internet material is now gone. (Very strange).

Tell me specifically where you think Natalee was raped and killed. Do you no longer think the Lion’s Den is a possible location?

      Jerry

Thanks again to Kimberly G. for keeping Natalee’s story in the news. I just wish she would address the photo of Paulus sitting next to Natalee in the casino. It’s been a long time since we heard Beth say that she will believe it is Paulus until someone proves it isn’t. It would be great to know if Jossy also believes it is Paulus. It is my belief that the four main suspects are all involved in Natalee’s disappearance. Like father, like son. What do you think about that, Anita?

BTW, did Arlene and Steve disappear too?

A few minutes with a real charmer.

      …….

      copy / paste

Joran’s interview with Panorama magazine in the NL:

Suspect Joran van der Sloot about Natalee Holloway:

      “I thought fok that bitch”.

Interviewer: Did you ask her to come with you?
Joran: I picked her up, that was just kidding.
Interviewer: It remains a strange story.
Joran: It is. I just should have taken her with me, but the intention was to leave fast.
Interviewer: Why were you in such a hurry?
Joran: To diss (get rid of her) her a little, because she wanted me to stay there with her. I thought on that moment in all honesty: fok you.
If I would have wanted to pick up the shoes, I would have to walk passing her.
When I was in the car I thought: fok that bitch. Fok those shoes, anyway.
Interviewer: Natalee was still on the beach?
Joran: It is disturbing now, but that is the way it went.
      Interviewer: Disturbing.
Joran: Yes, it is disturbing that I have to tell all this. It of course is not something to be
proud of when you leave a girl behind like that. That is one of the reasons I lied. I do not think I lied
without a reason or something like that.
Interviewer: Why did you not tell the truth right away, like it is now in your book?
Joran: That is also because of the police. Every time I tell something, I just have to make one slip of the tongue and they are screwing me again. I thought at a certain moment: I am not going to cooperate one centimeter. Fuck you. If you think I did something then go prove it. I know
I did nothing. So I was basically just thinking about myself.
Interviewer: Did you think about Natalee’s parents during that period?
      Joran: No.

But that was more or less the same as the info he had on his site already and which I translated here http://www.scaredmonkeys.com/2007/04/27/van-der-sloots-yard-being-searched-by-dutch-authorities/#comments ; see the post by me.

BTW: is there a full recording of this PR de Vries-show somewhere on the internet yet? Please let me know. If it is not yet anywhere I can put it there: I’ve recorded it now.

Golly Joran, if you would just tell the truth you wouldn’t have to worry about “one slip of the tongue”. You see, when you tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, the tongue doesn’t slip.

Yet another story from Joran. Who can keep track of the number of stories this monster has told? Did the sporter tell us who picked him up in this version of the story?

I noticed in the original photos of something strange taking place at the Sloot’s house, back when the moving truck was there – noticed the barrels outside the door of one of the buildings. It has been my thought that she was inside one of them. A forensic scientist was recently on TV and said he believes; based on Deepak’s interview, that she is in a barrel out in the sea. TES will be searching the sea in June.

      To b4igo2it,

Dave Holloway has talked several times about a barrel they found, and they thought at first that it contained the body of Natalee. The suspects became very nervous at that point. Best I remember, they became very nervous when Dave was going daily to the landfill. Could it be that someone else, perhaps Paulus, moved Natalee, and the perps were not quite sure where her body was?

      Jerry

    35. Waterboy (Jerry) on June 3rd, 2007 7:42 pm

      Maggie,

I think what we are seeing is elitism that goes way beyond anything we can imagine. It seems like the dark ages when the elite rulers could do just as they pleased to whom ever they pleased, and there were no consequences. I would have never believed it could happen in a “civilized” country. Paulus must have secret files on everyone.

      16. Mayan_Moons: :-) He actually did that in the clip of him getting off the plane in the Netherlands 9-05. He was met by some woman and from the looks of her, she was an aunt or friend of Anita’s. This was right after we saw him fondling his mother after he was released. Wonder if he did this with Greta. :-)

It seems like those boys are some powerful people with some powerful connections. The more I’m reading on here about the cover-up and corruption the more I’m beginning to think there’s much more to this story than three foreign kids being involved in the disappearance and possible rape/murder of a foreign girl. Scary stuff. I wonder who they know that they’re able to manipulate three (Aruban, Dutch, American) governments, government agencies, and media like that…

I did think Jossy did a great job on the interview. He sounded sincere and like he was and Aruban on the same side as everyone else: wanting answers.

    42. Maggie on June 3rd, 2007 9:39 pm

#35 Jerry I agree.. they make the rules and laws up to fit the situation as they go along. They can’t use the police statements, because they were released. In that case since the suspect has access to the files, he could just hand over police files to the public every criminal case and they could never be used as evidence against a suspect. This is just too bizarre. All along, the main suspect has read blogs, police files, and witness statements to keep changing his story to fit the known facts. When Joran was on ABC, he said he has his own set of police files and he has them memorized. For the laws Joran was breaking that night by drinking underage, being in a club underage, gambling and being in a casino underage, the father having him in a casino underage gambling with them. They’ve never been in trouble for that. What few laws they do have, they don’t enforce them.

In Aruba, mystery of missing girl lingers
The sad trajectory of the Natalee Holloway case mirrors that of the increasingly bitter relations between her parents and the people of Aruba.
By Carol J. Williams, Times Staff Writer
      8:41 PM PDT, June 3, 2007

A siren blares and whistle-blowing waiters race in to the hectic beat of the “Mexican Hat Dance.” It’s time for the hourly tequila attack at Carlos ‘n Charlie’s.

The target is an already inebriated blond with seven gal-pals, a sunset-colored rum drink and a sunburned nose. The waiters crown her with a giant sombrero, toss a serape over her bare shoulders and pour a stream of golden liquid into a mouth turned up like a baby bird’s.

Liquor-plying mission accomplished, a DJ swaps the peppy Mexican melody for a blaring rendition of dance group T-Spoon’s “Sex on the Beach.”

Alcoholic excess and abandon are back in vogue at the cantina, where a pretty blond teenager from Alabama named Natalee Holloway was last seen by her high school classmates – drunk and supine on the bar as a boy slurped Jello shots from her navel.

Two years later, it may be business as usual at Carlos ‘n Charlie’s, but the mystery of the missing American girl lingers. No body has ever been found, no evidence of a crime has been uncovered, and the 18-year-old’s disappearance is dangerously close to being labeled a cold case.

The sad trajectory of the case mirrors that of the increasingly bitter relations between Holloway’s parents and the people of Aruba, arcing downward from the moment two years ago when islanders took the tragedy to heart and joined in the hunt by the thousands to today, when locals mutter over American media distortions and “missing white woman syndrome.”

Holloway’s parents – and the cable TV crime analysts who followed their plight for months – have cast affluent Aruba as a dangerous den of iniquity, its police force as inept bunglers and its government and people as co-conspirators in covering up what happened to the hearty-partying teen.

As in the cases of slain child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey, missing congressional staffer Chandra Levy and murdered expectant mother Laci Peterson, the ill fate presumed to have befallen Holloway made her a cause celebre for vigilante justice-seekers and a ratings boon for cable TV crime mavens.

Although they have recovered from the initial economic fallout, Arubans say the accusatory free-for-all was a blast-force end of innocence – danger could indeed lurk under wind-sculpted divi-divi trees or on sugar-white beaches. Yes, it was a blow to their livelihoods, as U.S. visits fell 7% last year. More painful, though, it was a wound to the heart for all who had joined the prayer vigils and searches, Arubans such as restaurant manager Edwin Trimon say.

“Last year was a tragedy for us. Many people’s businesses were ruined. But what hurt the most was what they were saying about us on TV,” said Trimon, a fixture in the Aruban tourism industry “since there was just one hotel on the island.”

Marcelino Maduro, who has had a taxi service for 17 years, angrily defends his island nation. “The truth is, Aruba is safe. We don’t have people begging. There’s no bad neighborhood where a tourist feels he could be in trouble. We were all shocked when whatever happened to this girl happened.”

In the first days after Holloway went missing, hundreds of tourists joined Aruban police and U.S. private investigators in combing the island’s beaches, craggy coral outcroppings and cactus-studded fields. The Aruba government gave thousands of civil servants a day off to join the hunt. A pond was drained near the Marriott, where Holloway was reported to have gone after she left Carlos ‘n Charlie’s with three locals. North shore sand dunes were scoured. F-16s flew in from the Netherlands to infrared-scan the entire island for signs of freshly turned earth.

No trace of Natalee Holloway was ever found. Now, the period defined by Dutch jurisprudence for bringing suspects to trial is about to expire.

Under Dutch law, prosecutors can designate suspects for arrest and interrogation without probable cause but must bring a case against them within “a reasonable time,” which judicial precedent has defined as about two years unless fresh leads justify extension.

It was on June 9, 2005, 10 days after Holloway’s disappearance, that Aruba police arrested 17-year-old Joran van der Sloot, a Dutch citizen, and Surinamese brothers Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, who were respectively 18 and 21 at the time. They were released in September after a magistrate who had granted numerous extensions ruled that police had insufficient grounds to further detain them.

“I hope we can close the case against them,” said attorney David Kock, who represents the Kalpoe brothers. “They have been living with this sword over their heads for two years now.”

Vivian van der Biezen, head of legal and policy assistance for the Aruba prosecutor’s office, says that authorities are prohibited from discussing an active case and that a new phase of the investigation began six weeks ago.

On the recommendation of officials in the Netherlands who reviewed Aruban and FBI reports, Van der Sloot’s home was searched again April 27. Twenty forensic investigators perused his parents’ diary notes and a personal computer and poked narrow rods into soil in the backyard of their modest home.

Paul van der Sloot, the suspect’s father, said they found nothing suspicious.

Van der Biezen said she was confident the magistrate on the sister island of Curacao, where the case has been relocated, will give the prosecution more time given the high visibility and complexity of the Holloway case. But she conceded that the clock is ticking and, at best, they have a few more months to find a body or forensic evidence that a crime has been committed.

There will come a time when we have to make a decision to prosecute or make it a cold case,” she said.

Like many Arubans who understood the anguish of the missing girl’s parents, Van der Biezen is reluctant to accuse them of interfering in the investigation. But she observed that their freelance actions in confronting witnesses and suspects blew early opportunities for clandestine surveillance.

In one of her frequent appearances on Greta van Susteren’s “On the Record” legal show on Fox News, Beth Twitty, Holloway’s mother, complained that the parallel probe that family members and friends conducted was being ignored by Aruban investigators.

“We’ve just about done all the investigation for them, I guess, so to speak, identified witnesses, put the three suspects on a silver platter and gave it to them,” Twitty said of the sleuthing she did when Aruban police were still convinced her daughter had simply extended her vacation.

Recriminations are a two-way street here on Aruba.

Julia Renfro, a Los Angeles native who is editor in chief of Aruba Today, initially took the side of Holloway’s parents when they sought publicity on the disappearance and lambasted Aruban police for following Dutch investigative procedures different from those in the U.S.

Galvanized by compassion for a desperate mother, Renfro stopped the presses of her daily newspaper for the first time in its history to include a picture of Holloway to aid Arubans in the island-wide search.

A mother of four, Renfro spent weeks shuttling the family from the scene of one rumored development to another but eventually became disenchanted with what she saw as Beth Twitty’s pandering to tabloid TV and “flat-out lies” she told on the air.

“I feel guilty saying any negative thing about a mother who has lost her daughter,” Renfro said. “But her behavior was odd from the get-go.”

Renfro has concluded that the body would have turned up by now if she died on the island proper. She – and many Arubans – doubts the three suspects, who were all good students without criminal records, could have pulled off a perfect crime, leaving no forensic evidence behind and never caving in to the intense pressure of interrogations.

“I’ve spoken with all of the suspects,” she said. “I don’t believe any of them did anything to her.”

Heavily intoxicated, according to accounts later given by her classmates to the FBI, Holloway could have staggered into the sea and drowned after the local men left her, Renfro speculates. She might have died of alcohol poisoning or a drug overdose and washed out to sea, as Deputy Police Chief Gerold Dompig surmised in a CBS interview last year. She might have climbed aboard one of the dozens of catamarans and cabin cruisers moored off the beach for late-night partying following a nearby concert.

Renfro says she was perplexed when Twitty immediately concluded that her daughter had been kidnapped and made no effort to check hospitals or police about accident victims. Within a few hours, Twitty had concluded Van der Sloot was responsible, and within a couple of days she was telling TV interviewers that she knew her daughter had been gang-raped and murdered.

Twitty didn’t respond to e-mailed requests for an interview.

Renfro parted with Twitty and ceased front-page coverage of the disappearance after what she considered a malicious act of distortion. A video aired Sept. 15, 2005, on “Dr. Phil” appeared to show Deepak Kalpoe telling a California private investigator, Jamie Skeeters, that Holloway had sex with all three men on the night she disappeared.

The Kalpoe brothers sued talk-show host Phil McGraw, CBS and Skeeters (who died in January), alleging the clandestinely recorded jailhouse conversation was doctored heavily to change the elder Kalpoe’s response from “No, she didn’t” to “She did.” Versions of the original and aired tapes available on YouTube and other websites appear to back Kalpoe’s contention his words were altered.

While the investigation appears to be running dry and the suspects may soon be expunged of their criminal branding, the case of the “missing white woman” promises to live on for years, at least in the legal TV and unsolved-mystery broadcasts.

And Maggie, I think it’s probably also true that because the laws are so opaque, so contradictory, and seemingly so irrelevant to daily life there …

when the police want to come down hard on someone, they can do so. They control the process, and PvdS and crew are taking full advantage of that. Just remember, the three Aruban girls whom Beth heard about, the ones who said Joran drugged and assaulted them, apparently withdrew their complaints after getting calls from Dennis Jacobs.

What’s this? Madeleine McCann, missing in Portugal for about a month, is reportedly seen in Morocco? (Apparently that story has been out for some time … a European woman reported seeing a girl in Morocco who looked very much like Madeleine, but Interpol chose not to look into this.)

And the parents are going to go check it out? And they believe the 4-year-old is still alive? (Let’s hope so.)

Sounds like trafficking to me … but we know that’s a myth.

      http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/68948.html

LONDON, June 3 The parents of a 4-year-old girl abducted during a family vacation are planning an international “Madeleine Day” from their home in Britain. A month after Madeleine McCann was taken from a holiday apartment in Portugal, her parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, are trying to enlist international stars such as David Beckham and Sir Elton John to be featured on “Madeleine Day,” The Sunday Times reported. The creation of a day dedicated to Madeleine is her parents’ way of keeping her image alive to the public, the British newspaper reported. The McCanns also have approached “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling about distributing bookmarks featuring Madeleine ‘ s picture. The McCanns have completed a series of appeals in several European cities and plan to travel to Morocco next week, where a girl matching Madeleine’s description was seen recently . Both parents said they believe their daughter is still alive.

Jason, thanks for posting that Los Angeles Times story.

I sent it to Red earlier … it is the most outrageous thing I’ve seen for some time. Hatchet job on the family.

      Here’s my reply:

I have followed the Natalee Holloway case closely since it began. While free speech is to be encouraged, the tone of your article, which appeared online this morning, is so one-sided that I am forced to believe that your intention was to denigrate Natalee’s family.

You say the Holloway Twittys have cast Aruba’s “police force as inept bunglers.” Well, let’s see … within 48 hours of Natalee’s disappearance, Beth Twitty had arrived on the island, reviewed the videotapes at the Holiday Inn where Natalee had stayed, proved conclusively that the lies of the three suspects about returning her to the hotel were just that — lies — and had shown those same tapes to Aruban police.

Who had Aruba seen fit to arrest? The three people last seen with Natalee? No, two security guards who had never been seen in Natalee’s company and who were singled out by the suspects themselves.

What was Aruba’s reaction to Beth Twitty’s proof? To do nothing for another week. Sterling proof of the quality of law enforcement on Aruba, wouldn’t you say?

(Incidentally, your comment that “investigators no longer seem to be focusing on the three named suspects” has neither attribution nor logic: a court for the Netherlands Antilles recently ruled that the three remain suspects. The court also struck down damages that Paulus van der Sloot had claimed, saying that witnesses had placed him in Natalee’s company on two occasions on the night that she disappeared.)

You speak about “the ill fate presumed to have befallen Natalee Holloway” and sneer at the “vigilante justice seekers.” Obviously it’s ridiculous to think that, simply because an honors high-school student with a full scholarship to medical school has been missing for two years, foul play could be responsible. Equally ridiculous is the idea that anyone seeking justice — which the family has interpreted as simply wanting answers to their daughter’s fate — could be motivated by such things as belief that an American missing abroad is a matter of some importance. Why see a potential threat to other tourists? Why not do what Dennis Jacobs said to Dave Holloway (after asking how much money he had … a normal response from a dedicated law enforcement officer, I’m certain): go to the bar and have a beer?

You seem to accept as fact Aruba’s assertion that the damage from the economic boycott has ended. Were you interested, I could direct you to article showing that the decline is both more severe than Aruba has acknowledged (assuming that you trust Aruba’s figures to begin with) and is continuing.

My understanding is that the Aruban government gave civil servants an afternoon, not a day, to join the search. And according to an AP article, participation was far less than Aruba put it.

The attorney for the Kalpoes, one of whom said on the Dr. Phil show that Natalee was a “slut” and dressed “like a slut,” laments that his clients have had “this sword over their heads for two years now.” The Holloway Twitty family has had a different sword over their heads for two years … the agony of wondering what befell their daughter. I know which plight is more deserving of sympathy, in my eyes.

Perhaps you would care to detail the scores of lies that we have gotten from the three suspects. Given that Joran van der Sloot has given at least four explanations of how he got home from the beach where he said he took Natalee (though he also said he took her to his house), some people might think his actions merit suspicion. And given his father’s now-famous phrase, “No body, no crime,” those suspicions might be extended.

Your nearly page-long coverage of the “compassion for a desperate mother” that Julia Renfro is alleged to have felt omits a few facts. Such as Joran van der Sloot’s statement that he had sex with Natalee while she was drifting in and out of consciousness. Some people might define that as rape.

And Renfro’s speculations about what Natalee might have done conveniently try to take the focus off the three suspects … whom former Chief of Police Gerald Dompig has said are “guilty as hell.” A drunken Natalee, left on the beach, is going to swin to one of the nearby boats? No writer for a sixth-grade newspaper would let such an absurd claim go unquestioned.

I am not going to discuss my ideas of what happened to Natalee Holloway. But I might suggest that you balance your pro-Aruban account with a little background.

Such as: the FBI agents sent to Aruba were outraged that they were being slighted, not allowed to do anything useful, and were kept out of the picture.

Such as: far from being sympathetic, the Aruban government lied about the support it was giving the family (Dave Holloway is on record as denying the free rooms and other benefits).

Such as: a water search was on the verge of being launched, and all that Aruba had to do was contact the FBI. It refused to do so.

Such as: the Aruban government’s sympathy did not extend to Beth Twitty, whom it told would have to apologize for her statements or it would stop its investigation.

Such as: Arubans demonstrated in the street against Beth Twitty. (Did your self-commiserating Arubans, sad at the impact of this tragedy on their businesses, see fit to mention this?)

Such as: an unqualified, specific promise from Steve Cohen, one of the many functionaries who tried to represent the Aruban government, that the three suspects would be re-questioned. It never happened.

I could cite dozens more issues. But why bother?

I do not speak for the Holloway Twitty family. But your totally one-sided article leaves me doubting that they would speak to you.

I appreciate your attention and assistance on this matter.

      This story serves two purposes:

      1) to continue to attempt to re-write history.

      and

      2) to sway potential juror/public opinion in the LA area where the Dr. Phil trial is taking place.

Who do you think at the LA Times received a little payola for putting out this crap? and Main Stream Media wonders why they are dying…

This is the story, but really think the wording is stupid by saying a match made in tabloid heaven?
Who are they to criticize who Beth dates by such a remark? Futhermore, I really don’t care who Beth dates at all. It has nothing to do with her losing her daughter in Aruba. nada, zip.,. I think it’s amazing the poise and grace all of Natalee’s family has shown including Jug. Not sure, how I would be handling this 2 years down the road if I were in their shoes. I know I feel sick and outraged after following this story the past 2 years, so I can just imagine if it were my daughter or family member I raised and watched grow for 18 years.

In a match made in tabloid heaven, the father of murdered child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey and the mother of missing-in-Aruba teen Natalee Holloway are dating, FOX News has confirmed.

    54. katablog.com on June 4th, 2007 4:44 pm

Sent to the irresponsible writer, at the LA Times:

Wow, it almost looks like Aruba paid you to write the very inaccurate story about Natalee Holloway. First and foremost, we have over and over documented the lies told by Julia Renfro.

Next, it’s not that no evidence was ever found – it’s that any evidence that was found by ex-FBI investigator Art Wood was either disposed of immediately by Aruban authorities or sent off to the Netherlands for further investigation – never to been heard from again.

You also quote Chief Dompig. Funny that you picked ONE of his stories and apparently didn’t read or threw out all the others. Gerald Dompig said on national TV that these 3 boys were up to their necks in the crime of killing
Natalee Holloway. He later stated he had evidence that she bought drugs on the island – but then it turned out that his “witness” was none other than his own druggie brother-in-law!

Also you forgot that on June 10, 2005 there was a statement released to national media from Aruban authorities that one of the three suspects had confessed, Natalee was dead, and the suspect would lead them to the body. This statement was later retracted as “mis-information”. Aruban authorities
don’t have the US FBI tell Natalee’s parents that she’s dead, make national announcements and then just “retract” the information. Something is VERY fishy here.

Next, the 3 suspects remain prime suspects and for good reason. Not one of them has ever told a story that matched the other two that wasn’t then later contradicted. Joran van der Sloot admits to being a pathological liar and has
told so many different versions of stories that one can’t keep count.

Aruban employees were given 1/2 day off – not a full day. And of course we know that many people in Aruba had nothing to do with the death or cover-up of Natalee’s death. We know, and Dave and Beth have certainly recognized that
many Aruban people were very good to them Top on the list is Jossy Mansur, head of Diario. But Jossy will also tell you, had you bothered to interview anyone by the lying Julia Renfro, that there is definitely a cover-up in this investigation. Heck, our own FBI would tell you that – had you bothered to ask.

The most important thing is that you portray Aruba as safe! It’s simply NOT true. If there is no begging going on in Aruba and it’s so “affluent” then why the heck have the Aruban people been marching in Aruba to do something about the “Choller” problem (Chollers are homeless drug addicts in Aruba). There are also many reports of breaking into hotel rooms and stealing tourists belongings.

Your story is not only totally inaccurate, but it endangers the lives of Americans who might believe it! It’s irresponsible journalism at its best.

    55. Richard on June 4th, 2007 4:52 pm

Remember, Julia Renfro is from southern California. She probably poses as a “reputable journalist.”

Aruba and Renfro certainly snookered that reporter. I just skimmed over the surface in my reply.

Hard to imagine someone could turn out such an asinine, one-sided article.

    56. katablog.com on June 4th, 2007 5:11 pm

Fired another letter off to the letters to the editor address. This is one of the most irresponsible pieces of “journalism”. It appears to have been written by someone totally promoting Aruba and it may put Americans in danger. SICK. SICK. SICK.

And no, I don’t care one hoot who Beth is dating. It would seem that John Ramsey could indeed understand some of what she has been through. Is that so wrong after 2 years of hell for this woman?

I’m not sure of the source of this news brief, but I thought I’d share it with my favorite monkeys:

      This just in.

An escaped mule has been reported to have broken into an LA news station, where it was spotted backing up into the desk of a woman who would only identify herself as “the Croc”.

When the mule arrived at the desk, it unloaded what some described as a major dump.

Waste management was called in, but when confronted by a source who would only identify herself as “Fluffer”, it was ascertained that the odiferous stench was not the result of the mule dropping a load on “the croc’s” desk, but from “some other ass” according to the anonymous source who stated: ” I’ve spoken with all the obvious potential suspects that could generate this kind of more-ass. I know this mule is innocent because I’ve seen lots of crap before.”

Gripped by her attractions for loads of crap, the anonymous source named Fluffer slithered onto the ground, sniffing out all the crap she could inhale. After zeroing in on Croc’s pile of papers, Fluffer sniped: “I’m convinced this ass is innocent, as are all the other asses. The crap is coming from Croc.”

Waste management reported the source of the foul odor was indeed stemming from an article left on the Croc’s desk.

When asked about the foul odor, waste management officials would only say: “We haven’t smelled a stench like that since that trip we made to that island sinking in the Carribbean , where we had to do a major overhaul of a septic tank over at this newspaper, called “Island Crapper ” and.suddenly, this lady comes out screaming something about being a crap expert because she’s probed all the crap on the island.”

When asked about the comments made by Fluffer and the Croc, the mule would only say:
“…and they call me an ass. Look at those two: a croc of crap – the two of them!”
