I hope it is the remains of Natalee Holloway so Beth Holloway can have a memorial for Natalee.

My thoughts and prayers are with Beth Holloway.

If the jaw bone is found to be Natalee’s then surely it has been planted.

Weren’t Beth and Peter de Vries in Aruba lately?
      _______________
SM: Oh yea that it, it was planted. Because Beth, PdV and JQK brought a jaw bone to Aruba in their carry on bag. Good grief. How about there was a recent hurricane down there.

#2: if it was planted, it was done by your aruban
cops. another one of their games played maybe ?
your boy sloot knows the truth since he’s the
idiot that murdered her. keep on with your ridiculous ideas and we will laugh at you every
time. you dutchies are a gay bunch.

If this turns out to be Natalee, I can almost guarantee that Aruba will get it right this time. There is no way they are going to want the media frenzy and bad PR a second time.

Now that Joran Van der Sloot is in prison on another murder charge, Daddy sloot is pushing up divi-divi trees … what does Aruba have to gain by a cover up.

I pray this is the evidence that this family needs to find closure. I hope Beth and family remember, there are many people who are praying for the return of Natalee. In my heart of hearts, I could not imagine losing one of my children this way.

I think it was planted by joran’s mother to make some quick cash for the holidays

Red – Aruba has always been interested in saving face, their precious tourism industry, nothing more, nothing less.

Aruba should have done the “right” thing in the very beginning. I can’t see Aruba ever admitting to doing anything wrong. To admit their guilt would only make matters worst, for Aruba anyway.

      #2 – Planted?

It will be obvious if the jaw bone has been submerged in salt water for the past 5 years or if it is fresh from the basement freezer.

But before we get ahead of ourselves we don’t know that its her. In the scheme of things it is far more likely that it is not her. But if it is, then its a game-changer because it means that she didn’t “float away into the current” that night. It means the rest of her (sounds crass to talk about a person that way) is very close nearby.

It means she was weighted down and the jaw came loose, and the fact that the saw survived hints that the other major bones did too, and they may tell a story.

If not, whatever she was weighted down with may tell the story instead.

I’m thinking “how stupid is this American tourist?? Everyone in Amercia knows how Aruba has ((edit)) everything up from the get go. I had would have been the one to have found that jawbone I would have contacted American Authorities and kept it with me until someone arrived. Hell, Aruba will probably come back and say its not human or some crap. And, I am sure that if Americans had it to test the DNA…..we would have had answer before now. Come on…..its been since Friday!!!! And, then to hear that Aruban Police arent even searching that beach for more remains.????? WTH My prayers are with the Holloways..I hope for their sake this find is remains of Natalee. But, have someone in America check behind them. They might lie about that too!!

This seems too long to compare teeth with a dental chart, they must be taking a D.N.A. to be sure because of a murder case, or they don’t belong to Natalee.

    11. Flippy on November 17th, 2010 2:32 pm

all we know is there is 1 molar. Maybe more, but we only know of 1. There may not be enough teeth to relate with dental records to support either way.

I would think that, by now, they would know if the jaw is human.

#9 – What American Authorities would you call while in Aruba that would show up and take jurisdiction? I don’t think this is an option.

#2-Johan the Aruban or Netherlands Troll:

GET A CLUE and then SHUT UP

#4 @ SM- Agree w.your assessment, however- as corrupt as it is over there—do you believe that they will finally prosecute Joran after he is released from Castro Castro then extradited to US on the extortion charges?

Since the huge house of cards will then fall, do you really think they will actually take any action this time? I ask this because although it all has to do with Aruba’s Tourism revenue—the Island still is booming. Perhaps there has been a small decline, but mostly due to economy? Besides a bad reputation abroad—does Aruba really care about getting it “right” this time over Joran Van Der Sloot?

Just throwing it out there, but I for one, remain skeptical of any news we hear from there.

johan, be real will you gezzz

    16. crossbow on November 17th, 2010 7:54 pm

It only takes one tooth to extract DNA.
The bone being more porous may have lost all traces of DNA to the sea.
I would believe it more if they said the bone exhibited signs of being exposed to high temperatures. In which case the bone is useless for DNA and the tooth would be iffy. JMHO

      Hi Waterboy

    17. glad2bAmerican on November 17th, 2010 7:55 pm

Aruba is dying a slow death with tourism do you think this is a hoax to say it was Natalie just to get this settled since Joran is doomed anyway.
If it turns out to be her jawbone through DNA I hope the Holloways get to have it checked by American’s just to be sure there is no hoax to restore tourism. What an awful thought! But worse
has happened in Aruba with this case!

    18. A Texas Grandfather on November 17th, 2010 9:33 pm

Any good forensic scientist could tell very quickly if this is a human jaw bone and whether it is male or female.

The fact, that as far as we know, the Aruban authorities have not secured the area is disturbing. More we don’t have crime in Aruba type thinking.

I hope for the family that this is not another disapointment. They need to get closure.

Who knows, maybe the DNA available from the pulp in the teeth may prove to be Natalee’s.

    19. kiltie on November 17th, 2010 10:35 pm

Don’t know much about tides, but would this indicate, if it were Natalee and perhaps her remains are weighted down in that missing crab trap, that she’s not far off shore and most of her remains could possibly be found? It’s taken five years for just this small fragment to appear on shore. If these remains are not Natalees, it represents yet another young female’s death, not exactly a boost to tourism.

I pray this is the answer the family needs. How awful to never kno if ur child is alive or dead. Bless the family, and let this be an answer for them

    22. Lori on November 18th, 2010 8:37 pm

Not trying to sound too stupid, but they should have roped the area where this jawbone was found to see if there are any other bones, jewelry, etc near by. If this happens to be part of her jaw, is it likely that Joran could have buried her in the sand? Obviously he would have had to bury her extremely deep and not near the ocean, but who knows? Then, while there was a search for her going on near the water, she could have been buried on the beach; nobody would have thought about digging up areas on the actual beach. I hope this turns out to be her so that her family can have some closure. I can’t imagine what that must be like living each day not knowing what happened to her.

    23. maria tromp on November 20th, 2010 10:33 pm

Aruban authority knows that this is a human jaw bone, that’s why it was sent so quikly to the Forensic Institute in the Netherlads.
There were lots of human bones also waiting to be sent, I just hope they’re on their way to that Institute too.
