Faneuil Hall Bell Tolls Again, Thank You WD-40!
Faneuil Hall is the epicenter of tourism in historic Boston, but the bell that graces it’s steeple has not worked for decades. The bell’s striker had rusted shut and experts have never been able to get it working. So when historic moments occurred and bells rang across the city of Boston, Faneuil Hall remained silent.
But once you removed the eggheads trying to fix the bell, a logical guy came around and sprayed the rusted over striker with WD-40 for a week. And for anyone who has used this miracle lubricant can guess, the striker loosened up and now the bell is working.
But fellow readers, I know you are not surprised by this.
Tired of sitting out solemn and happy occasions when bells are called for, Boston has finally restored the ringing mechanism of the 1866 British-forged bell. The fix: a can of WD-40. Officials said they repeatedly sprayed the lubricant on the rusted striker over the course of a week. Now, it works like a charm.
A new rope was affixed to the striker. And, with an expectation of sounding the bell on a wide variety of occasions, officials also installed an electronic striker that is activated by a hand-held device similar to a garage door opener. via The Boston Globe.

(Paris Hilton practicing how to tunnel out of prison)
Could this reality show be far away? However, for socialite Paris Hilton this matter is going to be more than a staged reality show … It will be a personal reality. Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating her probation. One would think that this may be the first time in 26 years of life that Paris has ever been punished for anything.
However, like so many celebrities this bad behavior will most likely be spun into some type of badge of honor. When asked about her upcoming 45 days in jail, we wonder whether Paris referred to it as “hot” or not?

Paris Hilton Going to Jail for 45 Days
As a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton’s mother, Kathy, laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton then blurted out: “May I have your autograph?”
Paris Hilton looked forward and didn’t speak to news media as she left court. Her mother looked upset.
When a reporter asked what she thought of the judge’s decision, a visibly angry Kathy Hilton responded: “What do you think? This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with all this nonsense. This is a joke.”

Caribbean May Now Have Highest Murder Rate
According to the Word Bank, the Caribbean may now have the highest murder rate as a region. Things you will not find in the travel brochures. White sandy beaches masking as something completely different as unsuspecting tourists lay of the beach and get a tan. Is it any wonder why some tourists wind up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Blaming most of the violent crime in countries like Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago on the trafficking of Colombian cocaine to Europe and the United States, the report said the region’s homicide rate of 30 per 100,000 inhabitants a year was higher even than troubled southern and western Africa.
It acknowledged that murder statistics in small countries were often problematic because a relatively small number of incidents can result in high rates but said it was clear that homicides were a growing problem in the Caribbean.
“While levels of crime and associated circumstances vary by country, the strongest explanation for the relatively high rates of crime and violence in the region — and their apparent rise in recent years — is narcotics trafficking,” said the report, jointly prepared by the World Bank and the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime. (Yahoo News)

Jossy Mansur: “definitely convinced” answers will come as to what happened to Holloway.
Jossy Mansur is optimistic that answers will come in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Eventually over time the truth does come out. Joran, Deepak and Satish … don’t get too comfortable.
Mansur said he’s “definitely convinced” answers will come as to what happened to Holloway.“There are sufficient declarations of the suspects themselves to the police that give me the indication, the strong indication, that it does have a solution. I mean, these guys have said many things to the police that should have been looked at further, but were not; they just lie there on paper,” he said. (NBC 13)
