Parents & Sex Offender Charged with Capital Murder in death of 6 year old Christopher Michael Barrios

Donald Dale, George Edenfield and his parents David and Peggy have all been charged with capital murder in the death of 6 year old Christopher Michael Barrios. There are no words or punishments on this earth that would be appropriate for what these monsters did. Unfortunately we provide humane measures to how we exercise the death penalty.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. —  A convicted sex offender and his parents were charged with capital murder Wednesday in the death of 6-year-old Christopher Michael Barrios.

The prosecutor in the case will seek the death penalty.

George Edenfield and his parents, David and Peggy, are charged with murder, kidnapping with bodily injury, enticing a child with indecent purposes, false imprisonment and cruelty to children and child molestation.

Donald Dale, the family friend also in custody in connection with Christopher’s death, is not being charged with capital murder but along with the Edenfields is being charged with concealing the death of another person and tampering with evidence. Dale will not be eligible for the death penalty. (Fox News)

UPDATE I: Funeral for 6-Year-Old Christopher Barrios to be Held Thursday; Suspects Took Turns Assaulting Boy

The reports from this can’t are just getting worse and worse. Can we just bypass the trial and go straight to “sparky”.

According to an indictment issued Wednesday, convicted child molester George Edenfield and his father took turns sexually assaulting Christopher while the molester’s mother watched, then they choked the boy to death.

The indictment charges all three family members with murder and child molestation in the slaying of Christopher, whose body was found March 15 inside a trash bag dumped by a roadside. (Fox News)

I’m glad to see ALL are being prosecuted. It should of happened in Jessica’s case!

Yes, unfortunately, the death penalty seems too humane. I’d like to see the “father” get it worse than them all.

I’m so sorry for what has been done to you little Christopher…bless your heart and soul.

I am soooo sick of these defective creeps being in front of judges that let them go! The judges ask them to obey laws and register. . .WTF!!!??? These animals can’t follow the laws or the rules you set for them you GD stupid judges! Again, put a tattoo on these freaks heads and we won’t have to depend on judges and registrations that ARE NOT WORKING.

OMG the WHOLE FAMILY participated in the molestation of this sweet little 6 year old boy. Details are coming out that are just more than his family is going to be able to take.

I’m sorry too lil Christopher….god only knows what this little boy went through…the true horror of it all is just to much.

Child abuse and helping kids out of a crisis is complicated. I fear I know of a case that will by all means end with bad lives for the kids, who knows…perhaps as one of these big stories. No telling how many k’s of cases are near the bigtime.

A half sister, her ex-con husband and the three kids. The kids all under 10 yrs old have been removed from her by the child protection a few times. Drugs, abuse, and sexual charges were involved and still involved. These characters try to make a living sueing people, like magic the kids will utter “let’s sue them too” at anything that comes up.

One of my whole sisters daughter once took the kids to raise as her own, she a first grade school teacher and marvle with kids. You cannot imagine the living Hell she caught from my half sister…legal charges, lawsuit, money demands, house break ins, ID theift. She had to give the kids up in great pain.

SO, my youngest whole sister ended up with the kids. She is as near the finest angel on the planet. She ended up in handcuffs for child abuse, false charges brought about by the half sister and her convict husband. The creeps stole the good sisters car. The story goes complicated and all bad news, but I spare you. That great sister gave the kids up too.

The half sister has been to my property only once in the last 20 years, just about a month ago — her, hubby and kids, I asked her/them to never come back on my property.

I have been able to give some help and inspiration to a few drug and alcohol abusers. I am most proud of the ones who found their way…was not easy for them. Consciencely I tried to keep them away from my home or my own family, but one (became superintendant of my company) who eventually took the cure, early on however came to my house to kill me once for “thinking you know everything”, and one of the beautifull babes desired I be her bo, indeed I would have loved that, though the test was it cannot be. Dang it. Caused some big conflicts for a while, though I did right, she did better…a leading drug and alcohol counsilor today.

Hard for family to help a family member. I wasn’t around my biological Dad much, and did not want to be around his family…the half sister is from that side of course, she is over 30 yrs younger than I too. In these stories we read about of the horrible parents, often we do not see how many times good people tried to help out and they themselves get burned. Courts and child protection do not fully meet the needs, a little help could come to some protection for those acting with best intentions in these cases. But I cannot see how to word or define who is and who ain’t best intentions. Quite complicated in real life.

I am a bit off topic, apologies to the monkeys. I do have a quirky point in all the drivil.

It is not news we have all reported this half sister and husband. If these kids survive, what will they become? I used to report them just off what my drunk biological Dad himself had to say of the child abuse. The system will not let us act, “this is not the wild west”, then the system must act. So, oneday the failures manifest enough, the worst happens…news media comes down my drive as I am a reflection of how that creep went bad. I must put a coat over my head, right? Or does the system ever learn to take the coat off theirs?

My prayers go out to the family of Christopher Barrios.
There are no words that I, or anyone, can say to take your
pain away. We look to the authorities for justice, while,
in our hearts, we know that it will take much more than
a guilty verdict to put an end to your sorrow.

To think that these monsters were putting forth an effort
to be exempt from the 1000-foot rule is unimaginable. If
there is any case that screams for reform in our justice
system, it’s this one. We need to safeguard our children
by giving them safe neighborhoods to live in… free of
sexual offenders. A thousand feet is not enough.

I cannot tell you how I have had enough of reading about these child molesters that are not locked away and everyone is in shock when they commit a crime, what is the system for, how do you put a deranged sex offender on 10 years probation, he obviously cannot abide by the law in the first place, so lets see how he does with some pathetic orders…(In 1997, Edenfield was convicted of molesting two boys, ages 9 and 7, who lived just a few houses down from him on Union Street. In exchange for his guilty plea, Edenfield was not given any prison time and was instead sentenced to 10 years probation, with the stipulation that he not have any unsupervised contact with persons under the age of 18, and that he obey all of the stipulations contained in the state’s sexual offender registration statute. When is it going to stop…why do they not lock these bastards up when they catch them, what is the point of catching them, only to let them go again, waiting for them to kill the next victim, as we see time and time again, something has to be done!!!!!!!

    8. A New Girl on March 22nd, 2007 4:14 pm

      Another total heartbreaking story….Sick Bas*****!
Life in prison is good enough for all of them- we all know how other hardened con’s deal with sexual preditors! Although, even that doesn’t seem appropriate enough as the post pointed out…Completely hideous & henious. =..(

    9. Peaches on March 23rd, 2007 7:52 am

Enough is enough. How I wish hanging were still an option! Can we not find a place to warehouse these pieces of crap where nobody in their right mind with a shred of decency has to deal with them ever again? I don’t care what happens to them. I really don’t. Just make it soon and painful.

    10. Elyse on March 23rd, 2007 9:24 am

I just don’t think the death penalty is a suitable punishment for these people. Sometimes I think the eye for an eye law should be used. These people deserve to be tortured the way they tortured that poor little boy. Honestly I don’t know how to punish them, they obviously are all sick in the head, and they must like the thought of molestation. Life in prison is a more suitable punishment(as mentioned by “A New Girl”) because we can all imagine how other convicts deal with such sickos. I just hope God and Chris’ family can find forgiveness for these people, because if I was in their shoes, I might have to take the law into my own hands!

    11. Hilda on March 23rd, 2007 10:45 am

My condolences to Christopher’s parents, family, and friends.I can’t even begin to imagine the pain the family is going through. Seriously, these sic bastards need to be tattooed, lasered, or tagged with something where it can easily be seen, to warn us about this unhumans. Our children have a right to be able to play outside or anywhere feeling safe. Judges please do SOMETHING before another child is abused or murdered.

    12. Nancy on March 23rd, 2007 6:11 pm

All I can say is “Death to all 4 of those sick animals!”, once you’ve touched a child, you should be hanged. I pray that God will put people that will start putting their foot down, and show no remorse for these animals, who show no remorse for their victims. Also, what was this child doing alone at the park at age 6? Never, ever, leave a child to wander or go to the park alone, it wasn’t like he was a teenager, it’s even scary to be a teenager these days. That child suffered and deserves for these people to suffer even more. These animals, I call them that since they’re not people, should die, if they don’t someone will have to do something about it, or they will do it again. My prayers go to the family, who should have protected him.

    13. Lisa on March 24th, 2007 1:06 am

Life in prison will not get the job done. These disgusting people are put into protective custody for the duration of their sentence. No one can touch them(without paying a guard). Death is the only way to go with these people. Statistics prove that pedophiles can not be cured. Chemical castration works, but not everytime. With castration you definitely take away the sexual aspect of things…but what about the power part? lobotomy? whatever…i say we put flesh eating bugs in their ears so they can hear death coming for them.
      p.s.
Nancy…how dare you take a jab at the parents at such a heartbreaking time for them. Dont you think they are beating themselves up enough without you sticking your finger into their wounds. Have a freaking heart.

    14. Patti on March 24th, 2007 2:01 pm

The one that is most disgusting, in my eyes, is the wife
and mother of the perpetrators… I hope she gets her due
with sparky and we all can watch! What a worthless piece
      of crap.

Most women are protective of their children and others, as
well. Evidently, she fell short on both counts as there is
no doubt in my mind that her son learned his perversion
from his father… while she watched. She’s as guilty as
the rest of them and deserves, more than any of them, to
die. She could have prevented this from happening a long,
      long time ago.

      And, Nancy:

She’s was probably just like you…
      a woman that makes excuses.

I am sick of our justice system. Honestly I believe we have crimes like these because america has become soft. If this would have happened a 100 years ago the judge would have asked the court for a rope and would have hunged the perpatrator right then and there. Wake up America we need justice for these victims and we need it now not 10 years from now so they can appeal what they got coming to them.

    16. michelle on February 2nd, 2009 6:21 pm

That poor baby. How can people sleep at night knowing they hurt a child? I’m sitting here crying for a child I don’t even know. Such a beautiful little boy… they cant hurt him anymore..he’s with God. May God bless you Christopher.
