RSSBreaking News – John Couey Convicted in Jessica Lunsford Murder – Jury Recommends Death Penalty
The trial of John Couey in the Murder of Jessica Lunsford is over and the Jury has recomended that he recieves the death penalty for the horrific crime.
In less than one hour the jury deliberated to determine that Couey was guilty of abducting, raping, and killing 9 year old Jessica. Their verdict now means Circuit Judge Richard Howard will determine whether Couey will be put to death or face life imprisonment.

An eye for an eye and a tooth for tooth! I recommend Couey get his just dessert. First, let his inmates have their way with him repeatedly (24/7) for a few years, then dig a big hole, put Couey in a plastic bag, bury him ALIVE, and allow him to suffocate to death just to see what Jessica went through!!! Only then would JUSTICE be served!

YES! I also agree with the jury. However…..I just have to wonder how long this scum woulda lasted had he been put in General Population with other inmates? I remember watching a documentary on National Geographic about San Quinten. The journalist asked this group of inmates what would they do to Scott Peterson if he was in General Population and not in the safety of solitary. All 10 of them immediately smiled and growled like a pack of hungry wolves.

I’m glad the jury did the right thing – DEATH! I was worried they’d be a bunch of bleeding hearts sorry for the poor “retarded” man. Glad his coloring and acting like he was unaware didn’t fool them.

If ever there were a candidate for the death penalty (and also a strong argument that the death penalty IS needed) Creep Couey is THE candidate.
One has to be beyond repair to bury a small child alive.
it’s a great thing he’s taken up coloring. he’ll have a hobby to keep him busy in between the rapes & beatings he’ll get in the big house.
This case has achieved so much notoriety, it’s hard to imagine that the judge will give anything less than death.
And I don’t think carrying out the sentence will be delayed too too TOO long, though I might be wrong. (It should be done the same day, and won’t be, but never mind.)
What’s tragic is that another perpetrator on another child that got less publicity might get off more easily.
What about his three accomplices?
#14; The way I understand it is that the three other POS in the trailer with Couey will not be prosecuted because the state used them as witnesses against Couey. Therefore, if you are used as a witness, you can’t be prosecuted as accomplices. I know that’s horrible that those other 3 in that trailer get off scott-free when they had to have known what was going on, but apparently the DA felt that their testimony against Couey was more important than going after them as accomplices. I too am glad to see the jury gave him death, and I don’t think it will take twenty years. Florida doesn’t usually allow it to drag on and on as they do in some states. And I agree with #4 Susie that perfect justice would be for him to die the same horrible death as his victim, little Jessica.
They got one right for a change. Way to go jury, now Judge do the right thing and carry through with it. The #4 response above has the right idea for the proper punishment too!

Memo to Coueys defense attorney’s…. your ploy to portray a completely mentally capable client, claiming he was retarded, didn’t work, and you compromised your integrity with that one. You also did a disservice to ppl who are genuinely mentally retarded.

Isnt it disgusting that someone paid for his new suits to wear so he would look more human. Another DEMON on earth. I wish as Susie said they would put him in a bag and bury him after years of being gang raped over and over. As far as the other 3 go, you reap what you sow. They are living in their own hell,just as anyone would be if watching something so horrific go on and not STOP IT…..
Ramlady, Wayne and Vicki, wouldn’t it be great if murderers, rapists or criminals in general got their just dessert by the same means their innocent victims suffered? Lethal injection or the electric chair is the easy way out for these monsters!
