The other night on Fox News, “The Line Up”, Joe Tacopina made some rather irrational and 
unprofessional comments regarding Jossy Mansur and others. However, when one does not like or can do nothing against the message, they go after the messenger. Such is the case with Joe Tacopina. Joe Tacopina’s rant can be heard here. Jossy Mansur’s reaction and full editorial translation can be read below.
In today’s Diario editorial, Jossy Mansur fires back and calls the personal attack for what they were … petty, juvenile and idiotic. In the following comment Jossy Mansur makes a rather valid point.
But, I must bring to his attention that his terror tactics based on slander and defamation are not the adequate road an attorney must take to obtain his goal. For a person always threatening others with the courts for slander, he’s very loose with his expressions!
As Jossy Mansur states in his editorial Aruba … your image was not destroyed by Americans, it was damaged why those who live on Aruba who are foreigners as well.
Three persons damaged the name of Aruba internationally, and to top it all, all three of them happen to be all three happen to be foreigners. Not one of them is an Aruban! They threw a negative light on our with their uncontrolled action during one night in May.
Who are those three people that have caused irreparable damage to Aruba?
- One of them is the criminal client of Tacopina! (Joran Van der Sloot)
- And there are two of them who are even thinking of going to court in the U.S. for money! What do they want, a reward for what they did? A payment for having so badly damaged the name of Aruba? (Deepak & Satish Kalpoe)
TACOPINA AND HIS CRIMINAL CLIENT! (FULL EDITORIAL)
I gave indications to the criminal defense lawyer in the U.S., Tacopina, that if he continues his campaign to offend, slander and defame, he is going to get the surprises of his life when the truth of his client’s participation in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway becomes known. And it is coming out at a much faster pace than I expected, thanks to DIARIO and lately De Vries, who’se popular program in Holland made revelations that had remained hidden and have now come out into the light. Tacopina at once wanted to belittle him with a string of lies about his program and, worse yet, about the man himself. A ‘street style’ that will not prosper!
I don’t know who Tacopina thinks that he is, nor why he supposes that his personal attacks and his attempts to belittle others in a futile attempt to save his client, are going to produce some positive effect. Two nights ago, in the popular Lineup program on Fox, he went so far as to say that I am becoming senile, among other uncalled for comments. Well, well, well. I hope that when Tacopina reaches my age (if God favors him with that), he will be as senile as I am, because my faculties are intact, and my disposition to do battle also! I am not going to debate the personality of that idiot because my level of education will not permit it. But, I must bring to his attention that his terror tactics based on slander and defamation are not the adequate road an attorney must take to obtain his goal. For a person always threatening others with the courts for slander, he’s very loose with his expressions!
If his goal is to save his criminal client by painting him as an angel, he’s wasting his time. What his client did with the girl is indescribable! And I am not referring here to murder because the evidence to prove that hasn’t surfaced yet, but I am referring to the moral crime he committed and admitted to during interrogations by the investigative team. And to reaffirm that in order to dispel all possible doubts, I have the categoric declaration of the lead investigator in the case.
That this revelation made Tacopina lose control is a fact that all who heard him on that program can testify to. He acted like a spoiled brat whose pacifier was yanked from his mouth. His voice was full of anger and despair, but with those emotional outbursts he is not going to change the reality of the case: his client, Joran van der Sloot, committed a moral crime against Natalee! This is categoric.
Now, my question to the people conducting this case is: how come Joran is in Holland, studying comfortably, while Natalee is no longer here? How come Joran has to “continue with his life”, when Natalee’s life came to such a premature and unjust end? How come the authorities did not produce the expected results in a case that is not difficult to solve in the sense that there is a moral crime admitted to? Why was it necessary for new revelations to come from Holland in order to make the case again as hot as an iron?

And there are two of them who are even thinking of going to court in the U.S. for money! What do they want, a reward for what they did? A payment for having so badly damaged the name of Aruba?
Tacopina assured that the case will never come to court. Well, Tacopina must be as bad in practicing chiromancy as he is removed from the truth as a lawyer in this case. The case will and must be brought to Court to put an end to this sordid affair, so that we can begin to reinstate the good name of our island, and principally to give the Holloways some measure of peace after all they have suffered with the disappearance of their daughter who came to Aruba and disappeared while in the company of the three suspects.
The three of them own the answer that all of us who in good faith are lending a hand for justice to prevail, are searching for and will find, much to the frustration of Tacopina! Let him continue to live out his ‘delirium tremens’, while we continue to pursue the case and are going to prove how deeply involved his client is with what happened to the girl who had her whole life before her, and disappeared while in Aruba and in the company of the three foreign suspects. Mansur is Lebaneese, expatriated through Venezuela, and before that Holland.
Mansur is in fact a Dutch citizen. Which gave him the opportunity to fight the charges of complicity in money laundering which he lost.
Mansur carries no weight at all in the courts of Aruba or Holland. His most recent court loss in manufacture of evidence against Aruban officials cost him 50000 florins.
His “evidence” is on a tape no one has seen and he claims will not be shown except at a trial. The second case he just retracted without paying.
There is no evidence of any rape or molstation – there is no evidence of “going in and out of consciousness”. Why would a “rapist – murderer” implicate themselves by telling the police he fingered and dry humped with the purported and to date unproven victim.
Do any of you really think a judge in Curacao is using Jossy as a source of information. When Jossy is presently being investigated for tax evasion and his family again is being investigated for dabbling in the knock off US goods business.
Do you really think any court anywhere is going to accept “evidence” based on unnamed sources, an illegally filmed interview with a cop, a cops illegally recorded unfounded conclusion, and a fanatical reporter (thats what the Ducth call De Vries today) with no paper or physical evidence to support an allegation. That is the sum total of De Vries – an allegation with no evidence.

It always amazes me when someone comes on this board to defend the perps…lets use some common sense. They were the last three to be seen with her and when confronted with this fact they lied…folks that sounds like guilt to me.
They never left Natalee on any beach….they weren’t even seen on the beach…no other guests seen them…no fishermen seen them..its quite simple they weren’t there.
I was really frightened for Joe’s family. It sounded like the dogs were frightened of this man, that they have heard those screams and rants before. I was horrified that small children had to live in a house with him. Has anyone contemplated getting Department of Child Care and Custody involved to see if Joe’s children and wife are in danger. These dogs sounded as though they have heard this before and were fearing for the children and wife in the home.

I am not sure about the route we drove to get there because it was dark. I think it is the way it happened. That it is the place where I dropped them off.
On you question if anyone observed us arriving there, I can say the following. I did not see anyone there.

Congrats to my pal Joe Tacopina who represents Joran van Der Sloot in the New York civil lawsuit filed against him by Natalee Holloways’ parents. The Judge, quite properly in my view, has dismissed the lawsuit, finding no reason for it to have been filed in New York.
The lawsuit was dismissed by Judge Barbara Kapnick, who said it shouldn’t have been filed in Manhattan. She rejected an argument that if the case were filed in Aruba, it would prompt a media frenzy that could interfere with the investigation.

#8 Why not use Jossy as a witness. They used a drug dealer, Boeti, Dompig’s brother in law, as a witness. I’m more inclined to trust Jossy than any drug dealer and a crooked cop.
How do you know Jossy illegally taped Dompig? You have proof of that? As far as you know Jossy and/or his staff were conducting an authorized interview with Dompig on tape.
DeVries has his own investigation. It’s why it’s called, Investigative reporting. He reported his findings. Like many of his other investigations he’s reported on and brought forward info and criminals to justice.
Joe T. feels the heat or it’s getting a little to close to the truth. hmmm Lashing out with threats must mean his back may be in a corner. His unethical behavior won’t help his client either.

Whatever else you may think of Jossy, he was right on this story from the start. The timidity of the prosecution is a crime by itself.
If Jossy has evidence , it should be brought forward, and offered in the case.
Everyone wanted the three prosecuted including AHATA and ATA. They could not get Rudy and the AG to move.

I have never liked JoeT long before this case. He used to come on news shows and trash Paula Jones, when she was suing Clinton for exposing himself to her in a place of business. However Clinton paid her almost a million dollars in the end and lost his law license for 2 years and had to pay a fine due to his lying in that case.
Mark Geragos made a statement on a news program, to the effect he believed Scott Peterson was guilty, and then later went on to defend him and tried to blame everyone for Laci’s death except Scott. David Westerfield who kidnapped 7 year old Danielle Van Damme was ready to plea bargain, he was going to tell them where Danielle’s body was in exchange for a life sentence. However detectives found her body before the deal went through, so there was no deal with Westerfield. His lawyer went to court and defended him and tried to trash Danielle’s parents as if that caused what happened to Danielle, pointed the finger at Westerfield’s son and anyone else in the way. State spent all that money for a trial and Westerfield’s lawyer knew before it even started his client was making a deal to tell what he did with Danielle’s body and that his client was guilty. He didn’t care. Westerfield had money and could pay the big bucks to the lawyer. That was all that was important. The big bucks. Bill O’Reilly on Fox talked about that many times.
I turn JoeT off when he comes on. When he started on this case, he tried to tell us Joran only lied 2 or 3 times. He’s going to come on tv and accuse someone of lying after making that statement?! Everytime he comes on a news show he tells another big one or two.

PAUL REYNOLDS, UNCLE OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY: i know that my sister had a meeting with the FBI June 10, Friday. And from that meeting, she became convinced that Natalee was no longer alive. She called her mother and told her that. And our family was-was-began the grieving process.
You know, we were told the report would come out the next day. Later that night, we saw the reports that confessions had been made, that something bad had happened. Shortly thereafter, it was retracted. The next morning, there was a report that said Natalee was confirmed dead. And these reports came from the deputy commissioner. They came from the spokesperson from the Ministry of Justice.

It was turned in by a retired US SS AGENT, Mr. Art Wood!
Unfortunately, between Aruba and NL apparently they fly
through the Bermuda Triangle. Unfortunately, much of the
hard evidence in this case as been very conveniently
made to disappear.
I wish they would consolidate the Mafia & the A.L.E. of
Aruba and run them out of the opposite ends of the same
building.
This way they could consolidate and save
on operating expenses & uniforms!
It is very transparent to those of us who have
watched the Holloway Case from start to finish,
that the two entities are operating in tandem.
In my view, the A.L.E. and Aruban-Dutch Mafia may
be one and the same.

Also, you mention J van der Scum’s comment about “We’ve done this 20 times before, and no problem.” The imbecilic interviewer didn’t stop to ask: “You’ve done exactly WHAT 20 times before?”
If van der Scum is indeed psychotic, or a natural liar, this statement might reflect this. His first instinct could be to justify himself or to invent something.
And, of course, this might also reflect the male teen’s propensity to ‘brag’ about his success with girls. It could also show his psychological need to elevate himself in the eyes of others (such as the “Pimps.”).
But it reminds me of something my aunt told me the other day about some kind of Christmas gift she got last year, mustards or something. “We got thousands of them … he sent us at least ten.”
In other words, this statement might be just pulling a round figure out of the air to illustrate the point he was trying to make. It might be totally disconnected from reality … just as I think JvdScum is sometime, if not much or most of the time.

viet vet: worry not. While I am absolutely sure documents and evidence was destroyed, I’m just as certain that someone kept some blackmail around for future use. Eventually it will show up.
I don’t believe for a minute that Deepak and Satish are even considering coming to the USA to sue. Rather, I think they are merely negotiating the price for telling their story. What they aren’t getting is how powerful a force they have against them and the whole thing can at any minute blow up in their faces with them becoming the main and only perps. Of all the people that need to be worried in this case, Deepak and Satish have the most to worry about.
#110, Katablog, I totally agree. The Kalpoe brothers are expendable. I do think someone of Sgt. rank or lower kept some of the evidence and will eventually talk. Probably someone who was disgusted with the coverup. In time we will find out. If I were Deepak and Satish, I would have to talk with someone in the news field, maybe two groups. One from Holland and one from the U.S. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Someone might have them disappear.
I concur that evidence that was supposed to be destroyed was kept & hidden by someone to use as leverage down the road.
