File this one under the most stupid act of Halloween. This fool is lucky he was not shot by police or worse yet, injured or killed an innocent driver or passengers on their way to work.
Who said liberals do not have a sense of humor? What better way to spend one’s Halloween
than to dress up like Osama Bin Laden, carry an assault rifle, dynamite and grenades and scare passing by motorists in Route 295 in Portland, ME. Oh yeah, did we mention point the gun at on-coming traffic? That is exactly what well known and prominent Portland attorney Thomas Connolly did last night. Needly to say the police showed up and arrested Connolly. They later found out that the gun, dynamite and grenades were fake. Connolly said he was just doing it to protest a change in the local tax rules. Just another Northeast liberal using a lack of common sense in a post 9–11 world, but they know better than the rest of us.
Thomas Connolly, 49, was taken into custody after South Portland confronted on an Interstate 295 overpass at about 9 a.m.
South Portland Police Chief Ed Googins told News 8 that two officers went to the area of the overpass between Westbrook Street and Broadway where the found Connolly dressed as Osama bin Laden, holding what appeared to be a gun, dynamite and grenades — as well as a sign that read “I Love TABOR,” referring to the Taxpayer Bill of Rights initiative on the Nov. 7 ballot. In this day an age of lunatics, snipers and people that kill in broad daylight with no regard for anything, this fool pulls a stunt like this and then states he meant no harm. Talk about a lack of judgment. But then again Connolly is a Northeast liberal who like MA Senator John Kerry seems to have that “lack of judgment” gene as well. Can someone please tell me how anyone was supposed to know the gun, grenades and bullets were fake? The man is lucky that police did not shoot him.
They said Connolly told them he was on the overpass to protest TABOR and didn’t mean to cause any trouble.
Sure the gun was a fake and what is supposed to be a responsible attorney is going to just laugh this off. In a day and age when gunman go into schools in broad daylight and kill our children, in a day when snipers kill innocent motorists … it is dumb luck that someone driving a car did not over-react on the highway potentially causing a car accident or chain reaction accident involving cars and 18 wheelers alike. Route 295 around Portland, ME is heavily traveled by both cars and commercial vehicles. Just plane poor judgment from one of those liberal elites who thinks he smarter than everyone else.
Some of you may remember the attorneys name from the 2000 Presidential election. Connolly is the one that leaked then candidate George W. Bush’s DWI conviction in another surprise of October’s past.
Days before the 2000 presidential election, Connolly released information about Bush’s 1976 drunken driving conviction.
The Bush campaign said Democratic “dirty tricks” were behind the disclosure that at age 30 Bush had been arrested for drunken driving in Kennebunkport, Maine, pleaded guilty, paid a fine and had his license suspended for 30 days.

Could you imagine the harm that this man could have caused? Forget the fact that he thinks its in good taste to dress up like Osoma Bin Laden … which is wrong in its own right.
But to have a gun in his hand along the side of a major highway. He is lucky that he did it in Portland, ME … if this fool pulled this stunt in northern Maine a hunter would have shot him.

To dress up as bin Laden is offensive to the memory of 9/11, even though, rightly, there is no law against it.

Just heard he was arrested as i was wondering why the hell he was not arrested on the spot. He’s laughing about it, Not Funny at all. This idiot is very lucky he asn’t shot by someone with a carry & conceal weapon out on that hwy.
I know if i’d seen that & had a clear shot i would’ve shot the bastard.
Like its said above with the killing of school children along with all the other nut jobs out there, i doubt they’d make a case againt someone who thought a deadly threat to many lives & acted accordingly by taking him out.
