Willie Nelson Charged with Drug Possession … Some things just Never Change

Willie Nelson, 73, was charged with misdemeanor drug possession in Louisiana.  Mamma WillieNelsonCountrymandon’t let you baby grow up to be drug users. Why does this come as no surprise to anyone? This seems to be coming an annual right of passage.

NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) – Country singer-songwriter Willie Nelson and several fellow musicians were charged with misdemeanor drug possession by Louisiana police after a search of their tour bus on Monday turned up marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.

Police said,  “There was no trouble whatsoever,” They were all cooperative.” What else did one expect from people who were in possession of 1 1/2lbs of weed and shrooms?

No wonder grampy Willie can never find his glasses!

How does that ole buzzard DO IT??? I can’t remember
where I parked my car at the football game…
(drug free fer years and years) and
      he’s still rolling a “doobie” at 73. I mean…
what’s up with that? (him) Whateverrr.

Jeez Willie, after all these years I’d figure you’d be mellow enuff.

No trouble at all and cooperative….Willy is to old to run or resist.

Tried to post a few minutes ago but it wouldn’t go through. This is just too funny. The Willie should team with Cheech and Chong. Imagine 3 old stoners getting together and telling purple haze stories.

1 1/2 pounds of the sticky green buds and a sack of shrooms only gets you a misdemeanor in Louisiana? I might be moving :)

Willie is quite the character. All I can invision is that scene from “Dukes of Hazard” movie where Willie comes out of the barn and the smokes follows … ala … Cheech & Chong or Spicoli in “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”

The real question is when couldn’t the police pull over his Tour Bus and bust him? Seems like a given. Seems that Willie needs to find a betther place to hide his stash. :)

Maybe he should move to Aruba then he wouldn’t have to worry about getting busted. I say send ALL drugies to Aruba then the USA would be drug free !!!!!!!

I’m disappointed in the guy, all his talk about helping the farm means nothing.

I thought of that scene in “Up in Smoke” where Cheech & Chong were in the car on the freeway with smoke billowing out of it! Too funny!
He’s one of the last great american outlaws. So he smokes a little reefer – who in america doesn’t know that? Its Willie, let him be.

yoyo, So is it alright to smoke weed in the USA but NOT in Aruba ?????????

    13. defiant_wench on September 19th, 2006 4:39 pm

kelmel, grow up. Not EVERYTHING is about Aruba. As for my own personal opinion, I don’t give a rats arse what country people are smoking pot in. All I care about is that it is kept away from children.

      Legalize it!

Who knew Willie Nelson was 73??? Damn

    17. Maggie on September 19th, 2006 7:43 pm

I’ve watched Willie in some movies I’ve liked. My husband loves Westerns. I liked him as the HighwayMen with Waylon, Johnny and Kris. Not a big fan of some of his music,,, he’s an extremely talented guitarist. He’s done quite a bit to try to help Farmers.. Kris and him are the only two who remain. Always liked Kris Kristofferson. I read one day that Kris is a Rhodes Scholar. Never did know that. Couldn’t believe how old Kris is and Willie wow 73. I don’t believe he will serve any serious time. Seems very few of them do.

    18. KELMAL on September 19th, 2006 8:32 pm

Maggie, Yea Kris is a Rhodes Scholar. My husband and I just saw his Ex-wife sing. Rita Coolidge. She still talks about him alot.

Kelmal, Are you for or against medical marijuana?

    20. jackie on September 19th, 2006 10:43 pm

Big Whoopie Doo, they ought to legalize marijuana anyway. If the government could grow it in the backyard of the Whitehouse and get all the profits from it, it would already be legal. But they make more money busting people for it. God planted it, but our government made it a crime. Hey Whitehouse become a Greenhouse! Burn it up Willie!!!

kelmel: Who is we? You and the little worm in your pants? I think if my comment was really all that offensive or inappropriate, I would have heard from Klaas or Red by now. You don’t know the first thing about “my kind” so how would you know if “my kind” is wanted here or not? I’ve been here for over a year and believe me, if I was as unwanted here as you are, I would have left a long time ago. I’m sure you are pleased to know that you have the honor of being one of the most annyoying and idiotic posters ever to be on this board. I can’t count how many times posters have complained about your stupid comments since the moment you popped in (or changed your name as many suspect). “Legalize it” refers to marijuana, not “drugs”. I’m not going to go into my reasons for believing it should be legalized, but from reading other comments, I’m not the only monkey that feels that it should be legal.

I know that comments to or about you really turn you on, but honestly, I don’t know how you type with one hand on the keyboard and the other on your little worm all the time.

    23. da wench on September 20th, 2006 11:43 am

kelmel: My apologies. I just realized that you are a woman, unless of course you live in a state where men are allowd to marry men…and of course there is nothing wrong with that. But if you are in fact a woman, I take back the comment about your little worm…but stand by all of my other comments.

    24. Austin on September 20th, 2006 4:06 pm

Ya I agree it should be legalized but the gov’t can’t make money off it. Alcohol is and always has been 100 times worse.

    25. KELMAL on September 21st, 2006 6:33 am

I say don’t legalize it. If you want it go to ARUBA !!!!!!!!!!
