Beth Twitty & Dave Holloway Try to Separate Rumor from Reality in Aruba regarding Van Cromvoirt

The recent arrest in Aruba of GVC has even took the parents of Natalee Holloway by surprise. They were unaware of the name prior to him being taken into custody. What has been a consistent problem in the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway is trying to separate the rumor from reality. The information coming out about GVC and any ties to Natalee are no different.

With so many rumors and theories coming out of Aruba, including one that places Natalee Holloway and Gottfried Van Cromvoirt near each other the night Holloway disappeared, Holloway’s parents spoke out on Tuesday to try to clarify the specifics.

Holloway’s father, Dave Holloway, has hired an attorney to help the family try to separate fact from rumor after almost 11 months of trying to unravel the mystery of her disappearance.

Dave Holloway said facts are still rare, especially concerning 19-year-old Van Cromvoirt.

“Down there, they don’t really tell you a lot,” Holloway said. “Because they don’t want it out. It’s kind of frustrating.”

Even the parents of Natalee Holloway hear conflicting stories as to what the reasons are why 19 year old Geoffrey Van Cromvoirt is being held. Is it based on the story of the white car following Deepak’s that fateful night? Is he an accessory after the fact? Is it because he may have had access to a boat? Was he caught on camera? Much of this is speculation, even though there are some that use the “unnamed source” to throw out stories as if they were more than just speculation.

Holloway does not know if Van Cromvoirt is being held because he is actually involved in Natalee’s disappearance or because he just might have information about who was involved.

“We heard rumors (Tuesday) there may be some other arrests,” Holloway said.

One theory about Van Cromvoirt’s involvement comes from reports that Joran van der Sloot told police that as he, Natalee and the Kalpoe brothers drove away from Carlos and Charlie’s the night she vanished, they pulled alongside another car and drove side-by-side for a distance with the people in the vehicles talking back and forth. The people in the second vehicle have never been identified.

Natalee’s mother, Beth Twitty, said she is hearing another story.

“I believe also this new suspect is somehow linked to or has access to a boat. I’m hearing he is also an acquaintance of Stephen Croes,” Twitty said.

Curious minds want to know, why now? Why after all this time does Geoffrey van Cromvoirt’s name come on the radar screen? According to reports his name had been referenced in the police file as more of a witness capacity. His security shirt was found early on in the investigation. Why after 11 months doe he now become a suspect? Certainly someone would have said earlier who Natalee Holloway would have been hanging around with? There has to be a greater connection or at least let’s hope so to GVC to this case other than a shirt found 10 months ago.

Also, is there any connection between the three primary suspects and Geoffrey van Cromvoirt? Even though it has been stated there is no connection, it can’t be that difficult to prove or disprove on an island so small. Also, are there any mutual friends or do their fathers know one another or have common friends? Also, how difficult could it be to see if he or his parents own a white car?

One thing is for sure. This is a mess for Aruba no matter how one looks at it. With rumors of more arrests on the way, if it follows the path of individuals associated with the security company or the Visibility Team; this will pose even more uncomfortable questions regarding safety in Aruba.
