How does a simple request for more specialized equipment turn in to an ordeal? Abrams asks Dave Holloway that very question. The continued search for Natalee Holloway went from a simple telephone call needed from Dompig to the FBI originally asked for last Wednesday to all searchers leaving the island of Aruba this past Monday. The relationship between the ALE and the Holloway/Twitty’s was working so well up until Dave Holloway left Aruba and Dompig met with the FBI last Thursday. One wonders how much more strange this investigation can get?
Abrams: What do you make of Dompig’s comments?
Dave: Well, I arrived on the island on Oct. 18th and the following day, met Dompig and he requested the assistance of the FBI. Indicated he would like for them to come back and utilize them ad much as he could. So we said well, we will try to see if we can make that happen. In the meantime, he indicated that we needed to focus our search efforts in the ocean. So, we were not going to waste anytime so we took off along with Tim Miller of TES and had boats in the water I believe by the weekend.
We soon realized we would need the FBI and some of their search equipment. We forwarded an email to Mr. Dompig sometimes Wednesday requesting that he make a phone call to the FBI so we could get this underwater equipment. I ended up having to leave the island on Thursday and in my reports back from the individuals who were left they felt like the light had been turned out. So I followed up again Saturday with the same email.
We’re all sitting on the bank and can’t get in the water until we get the assistance of the FBI. That team finally had to leave this past Monday or Tuesday.
Abrams: According to Dompig he says he has now spoken with the FBI. Says they had a very productive conversation.Is the real divide here occurring over who he wants to interview? He really wants to talk to Natalee’s friends again. What is the problem with that?
Dave: I don’t think there is any problem with it to tell you the truth about it.
The FBI arrived on the island Thursday, the same day I left. I don’t know what happened or whatever. The correct protocol is to go through the FBI if you want any information in the USA. It’s that simple. So, I don’t know what the issue is there to tell you the truth about it.Abrams: As you heard, Beth seems to be suggesting they have the interviews and there is really no need to speak to the friends anymore. There seems to be some issue about whether Beth is going to come in versus whether….who’s at fault for the lack of communication between Beth and the authorities there as well.
Dave: Yeah, well of course they run the investigation. They determine who they want to see and who they want to talk to. So, without any further information, I don’t know why they would want to pursue that lead any further. But, if there’s anything needed from the states I think the FBI is capable of handling that.

i realize that i am biased towards natalee’s side of this, but it seems to me that if something benefits jvds and kalpoe side, things can happen almost instantly, case in point, the emergencycourt session at an hours notice curtailing the video of jvds in jail. if it is to benefit the search for natalee, they’ll have it done within 24 hrs.(read next year some time) if its convenient. after 5 months of carping about beth needing to leave the island and go home, now she’s impeding the investigation because she’s not on the island and immediately available. now she’s back on the island again, and dompig hasn’t returned her calls to make an appointment. strange place, the happy island.
an afterthought. if the happy island is so crime free and safe, and natalee is the only bad thing to ever happen there, what do all those policeman down there spend all their time doing? i was really feeling hopeful for natalee when dompig took over. he sounded so aggressive and ready to look at everything. since friday of last week, all we hear is negative things about beth and mb kids and he doesn’t even have time to make a phone call to the fbi for equipment? equipment aruba would not have to pay for so searchers aruba would not have to pay for could search for a missing human being.
don’t even bother trying to tell me about the hundreds of date-rape scenarios and missing people there are in u.s.a. the media keeps us well informed on those cases too, and i would bet money that if any one of them had been handled like natalee’s case, there would be police firings, grand jury’s convened. and public officials jailed for their complicity and criminal acts.
we also don’t bother lying about our crime rates either. it’s hanging out there for all to see.
What in blazes is up with the Aruban Police? It’s almost as if they know where Natalee is and don’t want her found. All the anguish over this missing girl, the apparently false leads, the monies that have been spent – so far – nothing found. This looks like a ‘circle jerk’ to me.
Now maybe im offbase here but whie I support the search for Natalee, I am also seeing where Beth is becomeing very resistant to quite a bit of things that the police in Aruba are wanting t do and interviewing the Kids from MB is towards the Top of the List ?
and if there is no inappropiateness with the finances
then what is wrong with them just looking into them ?

Seems like Beth is not the only one having problems getting the FBI to assist in this case.
I think the United States needs to take this investigation over and bring Natalee home so that the rest of the Aruban people can get on with their lives. I also think the US needs to bring Joran, and the Kalpoe Brothers and Paul Van der Sloot, to the US to put them on trial and look at all the evidence that was presented in Aruba when they let them go (the first time for 10 days) and all the other evidence they have gathered with the assistance of the US, as well as make them take a lie detector test, and then we will see who is telling the truth. This way Aruba is kept out of it and the US will finally have their way with those slime balls and Aruba can let Beth finally go home in Peace with Natalee.

WELL IT SEEMS THAT BETH, JUG & DAVE HOLLAWAY NEED TO GET THERE BOYCOTT MOVING BECAUSE LAST WEEK DOMPIG AND MOST OF aruba WERE SO WORRIED THAT WE AS AMERICANS WERE GOING TO BOYCOTT IT, AND THEN THERE WAS SOME KIND OF ACTIVITY WITH THE POLICE AND THINGS STARTED TO CALM DOWN AND IT LOOKED LIKE THERE WAS SOME PROGRESS THEN NOTHING FROM THE POLICE . BETH GO AND TELL THEM YOU PUSHED AMERICA TO FAR THIS TIME AND ASK FOR AN ALL OUT BOYCOT, ON EVERTYTHING FROM TOURISM TO ANY ITEM THAT THE COUNTRY MANUFACTURES. AND ASK TOURIST THAT ARE ALREADY BOOKED TO aruba AND CANT CANCEL TO GO THERE AND NOT SPEND ONE AMERICAN CENT THEY DONT HAVE TO , NOT ONE AMERICAN CENT!!. According to this, and now that Beth Twitty is back in Aruba, with a friction with the Aruban press, according to the blog at gretagrip, these two parents are only getting the run around. We had hopes that Dumpig was sincere, but as days go by, seems that he is the same as bad as Karin Janssen and all those so called investigators. Too many months have passed, we hoping they would find something under the water, but seems that Dumpig very timely, did not make the phone to the FBI to bring some of their equipment, then FBI comes one day after Mr. Holloway leaves the Island.
This is the most istinky investigation and officials I have read about. No body, no crime, huh Paulus?
The only conclusion that I have extracted from Dave’s statements is that I keep hearing that the Aruban Justice is corrupt. When Jacobs mentioned that girls go missing all the time in Aruba, that tells me that somebody connected with the Aruban Police knows young girls are being killed, and they disappear. They are pretending to help the Hollway/Twitty Family and believe one day they will go away. I hope the entire family continues to put pressure on the Aruban Government.
What we have here is a change of tactics on ALE’s part: at first they tried very hard to make everyone believe that Natalee is dead in hopes that her family would give up. Now it is painfully obvious that they will not give up- neither Beth nor Dave- and furthermore ALE’s stonewalling is leading Beth and Dave to work together. ALE is beginning to realize that eventually, with no evidence of murder present and none forthcoming, everyone will realize that Natalee was not murdered and is not on Aruba. So…they are trying to keep FBI and other searchers out of the water by failing to follow up on their requests for FBI assistance and special equipment. The more people search for a body, the more they will turn up nothing…and the more kidnapping becomes obvious! But as long as there is a slight bit of doubt about if a body could be at sea… well they have a chance to keep covering up.
Dave has shown himself to be a spiritual man and I am sure doesn’t want any bad blood…but when dealing with this group, maybe a little kidnapping of suspects is in order, small amount of waterboarding, the old ant hill and honey trick, or something to at least start wiping the smile off those boy’s guilty faces, and shaking up their memories….
