Beth Twitty Remembers her daughter Natalee Holloway’s birthdays

Scarborough Country October 21, 2005

Beth Holloway Twitty in what is a rather difficult interview to watch dealing with questions on dealing what would have been Natalee Holloway’s 19th birthday. No matter how you feel about how Beth Twitty has dealt with the way she has gone about bringing this matter to the forefront of the media, no one can begin to understand or comprehend what a mother’s grief must be like especially on her daughter’s birthday.

Beth Twitty also brings up some interesting points on Judge Rick Smid placing suspect’s rights over a victim just so he can begin college. Also her hopes that the suspects will be brought back in and hopefully interrogated by the Dutch interrogators as before.

You know Joe, I think back to the judge. I think back to judge Rick Smid and I think that he chose the suspects rights over the victim’s rights in this case. It is hard for me and I’m sure it’s hard for everyone that has stayed with us in this investigation.
We see it so clearly what they have done and I just can’t imagine why the judge would feel for Joran to begin his studies in college. He felt like he needed to move on with his life and he needed to begin and not miss his college days.I just can’t imagine a judge placing suspect’s rights over a victim just so he can begin college.

Beth Twitty will be returning to Aruba on November 1, 2005.

Joe: Do you have any birthday memories? Anything, like her 18th birthday, what was she doing on her last birthday?

Beth: Probably her 16th birthday cause that is when you do the car. I think that one was probably the most special, and it probably is to all parents.

Joe: What do you remember the most about the 16th birthday?

Beth: I don’t think I can do it. (Starts to cry)

Joe: Any parent with children knows that they spend all of this time getting their children ready to go off to school.

Beth: Yeah

Joe: That was robbed from you apparently by three young men who are now on the loose. How do you deal with that?

Beth: You know Joe, I think back to the judge.

Joe: You’ve got these three prime suspects and you’ve got one of them that has actually said some very unkind things about your deceased daughter.

Skeeters tape of Deepak

Joe: Do you believe that him admitting that all three of them sexually took advantage of Natalee that night? Do you think that is going to end up getting back in jail?

Beth: It has to, it has to.

Joe: And if it doesn’t what are you going to do?

Beth: I think that Aruba knows the choice that if it doesn’t. They now have the tape, as we speak today; the taped evidence from Deepak K. is in their possession today. So, they need to go ahead and analyze it, whoever needs to do it. Whether it is someone in The Hague, find out its credibility and they need to utilize it. They need to issue, it should warrant the re incarceration of all three of them.

Joe: I understand that Natalee’s dad is down in Aruba right now. What is he doing?

Beth: He is and they are really concentrating searches of course in the water. I think they are focusing; they kind of have a radius where they are focusing. As far as that, it seems that everything keeps coming back to the water and dives in the water.

Joe: Let’s go back to the night of the crime. We’ve heard about this boat and a guy that got arrested then released. What was the connection between Joran and this boat and the possibility they might have taken Natalee’s body offshore and dumped her?
Where’s that right now?

Beth: Well, it’s so complicated. There are actually two individuals who have been mentioned. One of course was arrested, Steve Croes who was the DJ on the tattoo boat.
He was arrested for being a lying witness. You can be a lying suspect in Dutch law, but you can’t be a lying witness. I learned that this summer. So, what happened was Steve Croes came forward. Joran even mentions in his first statement that Steve Croes is the witness to seeing him drop Natalee off at the Holiday Inn and the two security guards coming up to take her. So Steve Croes comes up, that’s where he sticks his neck out.
For some reason he volunteers this information that he witnessed this happening at the Holiday Inn. Well that never even happened so that’s why Steve Croes was arrested. But, I’m sure there is another motive behind Steve Croes. I’m sure it was that he has involvement.

I stand behind Beth and her family and Dave and his 100%. They are the voice for Natalee. They were there the night after Natalee went missing. They know what was said. They know what was searched and what wasn’t. Through it all they have showed a lot of class.. How they have kept their cool, only shows the kind of people they are and I’m sure Natalee was every bit as classy..

I’ve read in a few different sites elsewhere how people following this case are just bored with no life. That’s not the case at all.. We are mothers and fathers, with kids, brothers, sisters and friends, who could imagine how it would feel to be awaken by a phone call like Beth got over her baby girl.

It doesn’t matter how old our kids are, they always stay babies in our eyes. We spend our entire lives trying to keep them out of harm’s way.

It’s not fair that the suspects have all the rights and the victims had all of hers taken away… This is about finding Natalee, instead the Kalpoes and VanderSloots have tried to turn it into all about them.. Even if they had grounds for a lawsuit, you would think they would be more concerned about a missing girl right now.
Like Scott Peterson..it’s all about me, me,me..

Thank You SM for giving all of us who care, a great place to do so..

Beth Twittty is very strong but shame on the media for asking questions that are almost sure of making a parent break down. This is news people, not entertainment.
She is the strongest person and someone to admire for her strength

My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Beth and Dave, as well as all of Natalee’s family and friends. As a mother, I cannot imagine having to go through what Beth has. She has handled herself with the utmost dignity. I can only imagine how proud Natalee is of her parents, wherever she is.
I pray that Natalee will be found and that Joran and his “wingmen” will pay for their crimes. One day, they will stand before God and there will be no political power great enough to “save” them. I don’t know how they look themselves in the mirror each day. They are disgusting, vile creatures.

What most people do not understand at this stage of the case, is that Mrs. Twitty is agreeing to all these TV interviews etc. is for the sole purpose to keep the case alive and of public interest. Many criticize the family of Natalee, make harsh comments about Beth want to be on the limelight, etc. etc. but who are they to understand what the sorrow of this mother unless they are Natalee’s mother. Even people with children, they have not lost, literally, a child, and if Beth quits her fight, no matter the means, is like saying, “oh, well, forget it”. That will never happen as this family is close knit family, everyone has been together with this mother and father, each on their own way are fighting to find the truth and bring to culprits (4 of them) to justice.
Now, one of the chief suspects is suing Aruba por “the time he spent in jail”? what, two, three days?
What about the days, weeks, months that Natalee is resting God knows (but Paulus knows also) where?
I hope someone sues all these four and sends them to hell.

I have kept up with all details regarding the brothers and Joran plus that father. What father, in his right mind, would put another family and keep this family, in this situation without having some compassion. Seems to me this Joran is a spoiled, inconsiderate, low life, and his father sits a great example for him to follow, which is why the Holloway’s has to suffer. I pray for Natalee’s family each night that they will find peace and to give them strenght. I do not see how that Paul guy can look in the mirror or face another day.

Beth Twitty says the judge let Joran go so he could go to college. This is not a factual statement. It’s a personal one made in anger. Beth knows better than anyone that Joran’s 90 days of custody were up on Sept 4th. He was to be charged or released. The judge released him for lack of evidence, NOT so he could go to college.

When police can’t charge someone with a crime, they have to be released. But the media (and Beth, sorry to say) twist the truth and too many people believe the media rather than the facts.

Whether we like it or not, you can’t hang someone till they’ve been convicted.
