Massive search for missing Alabama teen stopped

According to CNN, Aruba suspects trolled island hotels.
ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) — Two men charged in the disappearance of a U.S. teenager who went missing in Aruba more than a week ago were known to police for trolling area hotels to pick up women, and at least one had a previous brush with the law, a police officer said Tuesday.
The two suspects had lost their jobs as security guards at a hotel about two blocks from the Holiday Inn where 18-year-old Natalee Holloway was staying in the Dutch Caribbean island. They weren’t fired but their work contracts had expired, a police officer told The Associated Press.
The officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said several islanders told police that the two men who had been detained were seen hanging out frequently at different hotels trying to pick up female tourists in a friendly manner. No complaints had been filed against the men.
One of the suspects had a brush with the law, but it was not a violent or sexual offense, the officer said.
UPDATE: 3:00pm EDT – I have searched everywhere for confirmation on the search being called off reported by CNN and I can find nothing. AP, Reuters, Aruban news and even CNN has not confirmed this. CNN TV has not even reported such events. I am a bit suspect.

This immediately brought to mind the missing Amy Bradley who was in the same vicinity and apparently vanished. The three men who were with Natalie should have been held but hearsay has it one’s father is a local judge. Their vehicle should have been detained and searched for blood. These two lowlifes in custody now appear to be scapegoats by a government who wants to hurry up and hush hush things in order to protect his economy. My bet would have it that she was taken off the island in a boat. Curacao is close proximity. Those with money buy they law enforcement in these countries and crimes are covered up. I pray Natalie is found. I pray in finding Natalie the Americans will also find other young women who have been separated from their families to become some drug lords queen or worse end up in a brothel. You can bet this girl was drugged. Everything she owned was left in her hotel.

I pray for Natalie and her family. As a parent, I’m wondering how is it that the school sponsored a trip with 124 kids and only 7 chaperones? What kind of school allows kids to attend bars and drink? Even though the drinking age is 18 in Arub, it’s 21 here in the US, and I can’t understand why the school would condone having the kids go to bars.

juvenal- yes to both-but he is harmless. I traveled to aruba alone and he had taken off the day fromwork to pick me up at the airport…if he wanted to rob/rape/or pimp me out , then he would have done it immediately after he picked me up, and taken my cash,cards, jewelry,etc and done whatever he wanted with me/my body…I would have never checked into my hotel, and it would have been days before anyone missed me.
I am sure he wopuld not hurt anyone. I hope they find her safe. Still, I bwill be more careful traveling alone.

While I’m a little uncomfortable agreeing with the classification of ANY drug dealer as “harmless,” for some reason, I have a bad feeling about all of this.
Why are the first three “persons of interest” still allowed to keep their anonymity, when the circumstances they have admitted to would seem to be much more damning to them? Why have they not been arrested too, and had their pictures in the paper?
And, with the extremely tight lid that Aruban authorities are keeping on all information, why was it leaked that Mickey and the other guy were known drug dealers and were known to hang around hotels and hit on tourists? We’ve heard that one of the guys she left with was a drug dealer too, though we can’t confirm it because it wasn’t “officially” insinuated by anybody in Aruba, but somebody in Birmingham.
This ALL stinks so bad, and there’s a lot more that smells that I could spend all day writing about.

First, the kid is smart. U of A doesn’t give away scholarships (much less premed) to
just anyone.
I’m also concerned her friends were not paying closer attention. One said she seemed “out of sorts” on the dance floor. (Drugged?) These first three guys
must have been pretty smooth and gained these folks confidence. While the latter
two gentlemen say there were not near the hotel, could they have known the first three and met at this beach? I am also concerned South America is like 35 miles away
and there is a possible connection with this Bradley girl perhaps having the same
destiny. A fast boat — you don’t need a passport.
There is no body to find. What purse or evidence there may have been is probably
in the middle of the ocean somewhere between the two countries. Perhaps I’m trying
to be optimistic that she’s still alive.
If I were the parents, I would hire the best Private Investagators I could find. Police in every country must follow rules. PI’s are like bondsmen — they make their own and
might be able to uncover something the police cannot or will not not disclose.
I am sorry to hear about the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. The Police on Aruba need to search an area called The Cove for her. They need to really look that area over for her and see if there are any clues linking to her where abouts. Also someone at the hotel had to have witnessed something but are failing to say anything. Could it be that they are scared for there lives. Could they have witnessed her being abducted but fear for there families lives so they stay quiet. Hopefully God will give them the strength to speak up before it is to late for Natalee. Again I state they really need to check an area called The Cove for her. I pray God be with her and protect her through all of this. I pray that God be with her family and give them the strength to go through this as well.

Okay, tuning into this story really late, but has sparked alot of interest with me. I have two daughters that will someday want to go away on a Carribean vacation and this is scaring the heck out of me!!!!
First off, why would her friends allow her to leave with anyone – especially locals and 3 at that??? I’ve traveled to the Carribean with girlfriends on a singles weekend when I was single and I can gaurentee you that I nor anyone one I was with would have ever let any of us go anywhere alone!!!! Secondly, what is the Cove – that’s totally freakin’ me out!!!!

Ok this is really driving me crazy, but there is this guys is really AWESOME . I would pay the money to find out where Natalie is but, it is a lot. He has predicted the outcome of the Scott Peterson Trail and Scotts demise…. I really think that Natalie’s mom should contact him. This may sound crazy but HE WILL FIND HER! I live is San Diego and I have listened to him on the radio… you guys would not believe what he has to say, Just my two cents into finding Natalie. I pray that she is still alive.

Why not use this superior technology if it would pinpoint her bodies location so a
proper burial could be performed, that is if she wasnt dumped into the sea, or taken
