Car hits second story of house.

This is just plain amazing. How could a car hit that high on a house?

BBC

Last night, a car flew from the street into the top floor of a house in Basingstoke, Hants, England and dropped back to the ground. The driver and passenger were seriously injured but are in stable condition. Police say the car hit a curb and “launched through the air.”

Media Images 41086000 Jpg 41086775 Carinhouse203Joyce Harman told BBC News how she and her husband Joe were woken by the crash.

“It was just horrendous,” she said.

“My husband thought the dog had knocked something over downstairs but as he got to the bedroom door he could see the hole in the wall and all the furniture moved.

“That’s when we came downstairs and saw the car there.”

Update: A great comment from Mark:

“Was it by any chance a Ford Anglia? And have the neighbors noticed an unusual number of owls around lately? “

Belgium Doctor on Humanitarian Mission Bills US for Iraqi’s Care.

I guess he did not hear that the Marshall Plan had expired.

Belgian doctors sent an Iraqi girl home Thursday after treating her for leg wounds caused by a bomb during the U.S. invasion — and sent the 51,570 euro ($66,650) bill to the U.S. embassy

“We haven’t heard from them yet,” said Bert De Belder, coordinator of the humanitarian agency Medical Aid for Third World which brought the girl to Belgium.

“I’m curious to know their reaction,” he told Reuters. “We’re giving them 10 days to respond … I don’t think they will pay it.”

Oh, wait, I got it, he figured that it was the UN that was going to pay. They never question a bill.

Evidence that hundreds of millions of dollars of U.N. Oil-for-Food (search) money ended up in the hands of mysterious Middle Eastern and Asian companies has raised concerns among congressional investigators that banks responsible for administering the programs shirked their efforts at due diligence.

For years, the United Nations’ $64 billion Oil-For-Food program allowed the sanction-bound government of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein to sell oil and use the proceeds to buy food and other humanitarian goods for Iraqi citizens. But an investigation into the program that began last year reveals that billions of dollars disappeared.

Arnold Stands Up to The PC Crowd

and shows his support for the Minuteman Militia:

Schwarzenegger, who last week urged President Bush to secure the border with Mexico to stem the tide of illegal immigration, said he thinks the Minuteman Project has done a terrific job.

“It’s a shame the private citizen has to go in there and secure our borders,” he said.

On the controversial billboard, the “CA” state abbreviation after “Los Angeles” is crossed out and the word “Mexico” added in its place.

In the center of the billboard, placed within the L.A. skyline, is an image of the Angel of Independence, a well-known monument in Mexico City, further suggesting the merging of Los Angeles and Mexico.

It also says, “Tu Ciudad. Tu Equipo,” or “Your City. Your Team.”

“I understand, from a marketing point of view, to get the attention and do something radical and all that stuff, but I think it is going to backfire on them big time,” Schwarzenegger said.

“If they want to be responsible, they will take it down,” the governor added. “Those mistakes are made. Maybe some marketing person said, ‘Do that and it will create a lot of media attention and we’ll get great free publicity.’ And maybe they didn’t think it all the way through. I think it is time to take it down now and say it’s a mistake and move on.”

People say Republican’s work in lockstep. I and many others are in deep disagreement over President Bush’s handling of the Minuteman and the Mexican Border. I hope he changes his position.

Thanks Again US Supreme Court

Looks like these two teen killers will be spared the death penalty thanks to the SCOTUS changing the death penalty laws for minors. One of teenage boys who was accused in “the beating and stabbing death of a 13-year-old learning disabled youth pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Thursday and was sentenced to 14 years in prison.”

So the teen killers were spared death due to the reversal by the Supreme Court. That’s more than I can say for Craig Sorger, the 13-year-old learning teen who was senselessly murdered.

FL Supreme Court Cant See The Forest Through The Medical Records

The Florida Supreme Court has done it this time. By what can only be deemed as making rulings for political reasons the Court today stated that they refused to hear Conservative Talk Radio Icon Rush Limbaugh’s appeal regarding the seizure of his medical records. First we had the Florida Election in 2000, The Terri Schiavo matter and now Rush. Do these people understand they have created precedent and that they have opened everyone’s medical records, not just Rush’s?

Update: I’m going to have to agree with McGehee, Rush get out of FL.

The Florida Supreme Court said Thursday it will not consider an appeal from conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh over prosecutors’ seizure of his medical records during an investigation into whether he illegally purchased painkillers.

The 4-3 order did not explain the court’s reasoning.

Limbaugh’s attorney had argued that an appeals court misconstrued Florida law when it ruled prosecutors could obtain the records with search warrants.

“The consequences of this ruling affect the privacy of medical records for every person in Florida,” Simon said. “Some of the most personal things in our lives are contained in our medical records and if they’re not related to what a government agency is investigating, then it should remain nobody’s business.”
Limbaugh’s attorney, Roy Black, said in a statement that Limbaugh should not have to sacrifice his privacy to prove his innocence.

He has accused Palm Beach County State Attorney Barry Krischer, a Democrat, of leading a politically motivated investigation against him and labeled it “a fishing expedition.” He took a break from his afternoon radio show on Thursday for a doctor’s appointment and made no comment about the ruling. The show has 20 million listeners a week and is heard on nearly 600 radio stations

Whether you are a Republican, Democrat or Independent; you should be scared out of your mind if you live in Florida. The FL Supreme Court has made your medical records and what you relay to your physician, all that is held to be privileged and confidential, as fair game to any malicious prosecutor with a political agenda.

UPDATE: Statement released by Rush Limbaugh’s attorney Roy Black

Update: I agree with McGehee on this one, Rush get out of FL.
