Doug Flutie; You Can Go Home Again

Natick, Massachusetts’ favorite son, Doug Flutie, returns to New England and signs with the New England Patriots.

Noted as much for his elusiveness as for his passing prowess, Flutie used the former of those skills Friday, seemingly scrambling out of the clutches of the New York Giants and instead landing with the New England Patriots. A native of Natick, Mass., and the 1984 Heisman Trophy winner at Boston College, the 11-year veteran quarterback signed a one-year contract with the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.

“I’m very excited about being back in New England, being home and being a part of a great football team,” the 42-year-old Massachusetts native said in a conference call Friday night. “This is a fresh start.”

In 11 NFL seasons, Flutie has appeared in 86 games and completed 1,172 of 2,141 passes for 14,686 yards, with 86 touchdown passes and 68 interceptions. He started all 16 games in 2001 but has appeared in just 10 games in the last three seasons.

The Super Bowl champs just got a great pick up. A solid veteran back up who understands his role, a great individual, good team player and a guy that will be at the top of his mental game as he has returned home where his family lives and won’t be on the road even when playing a home game like in San Diego. Coming back to where it all started will do Flutie wonders. If by some chance Flutie is forced in to action for the Patriots maybe we can see just one more time that Flutie magic.

Hey Clinton, You Had Your Chance Now SHUT UP

Bill Clinton never at a loss to criticize GWB’s policies who actually has the guts to take on the tough issues. Gee Bill, this is no Motor-voter bill here. I guess Bill feels slighted that Al Gore got some press coverage via MoveOn.org trashing the President while managing to sweat like a pig in the Georgia sun.

Hey Bill, you had 8 years to deal with these same issues. SHUT UP. No one cares what you think or your pathetic whining. You should be grateful that George W. has treated you with the respect of an ex-President and actually included you as an envoy along with his dad for tsunami relief and did not have the Justice department pursue your Presidental pardons.

One really has to wonder how on earth that Bill Clinton thinks that he can criticize anyone regarding energy and tax policy when during his 8 years he was AWOL on both issues.

Former President Clinton lashed out at the Bush administration’s energy policies Friday, criticizing them as “dumb economics” during a wide-ranging speech to a friendly crowd at Brown University.

Clinton – received enthusiastically by more than 4,000 students, politicians and top state Democratic fundraisers – called Bush’s energy policy selfish. “I also think it’s really dumb economics,” he said.

A Bush administration-backed bill passed by the House this month includes tax cuts and subsidies to energy companies, and would open a wildlife refuge in Alaska to oil exploration

It is pathetic to have an ex-President make these comments when he failed miserably to accomplish anything of any substance during his administration. I guess with such a failed legacy, and I do not want to hear from Libs about the fabulous dot.com economy that he had nothing to do with, that I guess Clinton feels the need to try and trash someone else’s administration. It is pretty remarkable if you think about it as George Bush has done nothing to go after Clinton, much to the dismay of many Republicans.

However, in perfect Clinton fashion his only hope is to raise himself by trying to bring others down. Just simply pathetic.

I Thought Democrats Were Pro Choice

We are constantly told by Democrats that Republicans should be tolerant and pro-choice. Its an individuals right to choice and those rights should not be infringed upon.

How come Democrats are not pro-choice on Social Security then?

In addition, the poll shows most Americans favor giving individuals the “right to choose” between keeping their Social Security contributions in the current system and putting a portion in an investment account, and just over half say they personally would want the choice to invest some of their contributions.

Get Well Zell

Zell Miller sent to the ER with flu-like symptoms at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Former Sen. Zell Miller fell ill while giving a speech Thursday night and was taken to a hospital emergency room. His wife said he had flu-like symptoms.

Miller, 73, was in stable condition at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to nursing supervisor Tammy Harbison. She said she did not know what made Miller ill. The hospital said Miller was alert and cracking jokes, but would likely be kept overnight.

Miller, who gave a fiery keynote speech against fellow Democrats at last year’s Republican National Convention, left the Senate in January.

He was Georgia’s governor from 1991 to 1999

Get well soon
