CAPTION CONTEST

Aruba_Go cart race

Is that Deepak trying to make a get away from Carlos N’ Charlies? Let’s just hope the ALE blocked traffic from the road. Any time you put any vehicle on an Aruban road … it could be an adventure.

ORANJESTAD – After a very long time, the public could enjoy a traditional go-cart race again on the Queen’s birthday.  This race near Ponton was also the public attraction.  There were also several unregulated street market, kite competitions, and the annual Boulevard-walk from Malmok. Aruba, How About Some Defensive Driving Classes? Fourth Traffic Fatality in One Week

Safety on vacation. Now vacationers have to worry about the care-free, no Aruba_accident_Malmokresponsibility attitude of life in the fast lane on Aruban roads. 17 deaths in 2007 already? Seems like a pretty high amount when factoring the number of actual drivers. Can people just take some responsibility when they are behind the wheel?

What is happening on the roads in Aruba? They now have had 4 traffic fatalities in one week. In 2007 Aruba has already had 17 traffic deaths as compared to 14 deaths in traffic in 2006. Such news really makes one want to rent a car if one actually decides to go on vacation to Aruba.

This is just another aspect of safety issues that seem to get glossed over. One would think that you would always need to educate drivers as to the rules of the road, not just when traffic fatalities go through the roof.

Responsibility

“We need to educate the road-users to change their driving behavior and enter cooperation with other organizations.”

Spokesperson John Larmonie warned the public again this morning to make sure that there will not be more casualties in traffic, not to speed, and to comply with the right-of-way rules.”

Hurricane Felix Takes Aim at Aruba … One Happy Island Supposedly Out of the Hurricane Belt, Not Any More

Hurricane Felix is gathering strength in the Caribbean. Hurricane Felix has become a category two hurricane and is taking direct aim at Aruba. Aruba, the Caribbean island that is touted as being out of the hurricane belt can no longer state that claim.

UPDATE IV: Felix Becomes Category 5 Hurricane

ORANJESTAD, Aruba – Felix rapidly strengthened into a dangerous Category 5 hurricane and churned through the Caribbean Sea on a path toward Central America, where forecasters said it could make landfall as a “potentially catastrophic” storm.

On Sunday, Felix toppled trees and flooded some homes on the Dutch islands of Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire in the southern Caribbean. Heavy rains and winds caused scattered power outages and forced thousands of tourists to take refuge in hotels, but residents expressed relief it did far less damage than feared as the storm’s outer bands grazed the tiny islands.

Natalee Holloway: Joran, Deepak, Satish and PIMPS … ” I Know What You Did Last Summer”

WE’LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER

Especially those who have access and the ability to compare statements given with interviews that were given on TV and radio and the many contradictions that they show.Red Working

Soon an autonomous Dutch Police Team will be coming to Aruba and they will know what you did last summer as well. Reviewing statements, re-interviewing witnesses and suspect. Actually asking relevant follow up questions. Someone to actually connect the dots of Carlos n’ Charlie’s, the ride back to the Van der Sloots house, then to the lighthouse and then the pond. Back to the beach, then the light house and finally the water.

We mentioned a while back that you should not get too comfortable, you are still a suspect.

The “Gardener” witness reportedly had seen Joran and the Kalpoe brothers near this pond.  There were reports of this witness indicating that these suspects had put something in the pond.  The pond was partially drained in July, 2005 (never fully drained as water kept seeping back in)
