Democrats Overplaying their hand Again … Poll Says Americans Want Victory in Iraq
As so many times that they have been guilty of in the past, Democrats are once again overplaying their hand and misreading the tea leaves when it comes to what Americans want with the War in Iraq. Democrats have mistaken their midterm 2006 victorious election to mean a retreat from Iraq. No, that is what the uber-left wants … not America.
Not so fast. During the 2006 midterms many Republicans and Independents were upset with how the war was bing handled, not because they wanted to retreat. Many Republicans & Independents were upset by Republican political scandal. Most importantly many Republicans & Independents were upset with GWB’s amnesty immigration policy. However, Democrats have once again misread the signs.
Now comes a poll that says … Americans want to win in Iraq!
The survey shows Americans want to win in Iraq, and that they understand Iraq is the central point in the war against terrorism and they can support a U.S. strategy aimed at achieving victory, said Neil Newhouse, a partner in POS. The idea of pulling back from Iraq is not where the majority of Americans are.
Most normal thinking Americans understand that a defeat in Iraq would be disastrous to America. Politicians better start thinking what is in the best interest of Americans, not themselves or their political aspirations.
Check out these poll numbers of what Americans are thinking:
- By a 53 percent – 46 percent margin, respondents surveyed said that Democrats are going too far, too fast in pressing the President to withdraw troops from Iraq.
- By identical 57 percent – 41 percent margins, voters agreed with these statements: I support finishing the job in Iraq, that is, keeping the troops there until the Iraqi government can maintain control and provide security and the Iraqi war is a key part of the global war on terrorism.
- Also, by a 56 percent – 43 percent margin, voters agreed that even if they have concerns about his war policies, Americans should stand behind the President in Iraq because we are at war.
Hillary, Barack and the rest of the pull out at all cost Democrats better take a good look. See full article and poll numbers HERE. Stop playing politics with this issue. Our troops and our national security is not to be used for Presidential aspirations.

Jane Fonda … Hanoi Jane, You’ve Come a Long Way Baby … From Vietnam to Iraq … Still Aiding the Enemy
Hanoi Jane is back to her old tricks … aiding and comforting the enemy.
With Jane Fonda, its a different time but the same message. Please do not tell us that you support the troops, but not the war. That is an old and tired talking point. Not much has changed for Jane Fonda since Vietnam.
How dare they! I served in the central highlands of Vietnam. We were defending a bunker while North Vietnamese and Viet Cong rockets, mortars and sappers were lighting up our firebase. As daylight arrived, the enemy disappeared and we were able to take care of our dead and wounded. That’s when I noticed a newspaper in our bunker with a photo of a smiling Fonda as she straddled an anti-aircraft gun in North Vietnam, a gun that had been used to shoot down our planes. She was doing more to harm our troops than the rockets and mortars that had been raining down on us. She was aiding and abetting the enemy!
Take a good look what it means to side with the enemy. What has changed? What is Jane Fonda’s end goal, the same events that occurred when the US pulled out of Vietnam? We all remember “The Killing Fields”.
At a recent anti-war rally in Washington, DC Jane Fonda stated the following, “I haven’t spoken at an antiwar rally in 34 years,” she said. But, “Silence is no longer an option.” Trust me Jane … silence is an option … shut up.
A round of applause for the members of The Free Republic who state exactly what Hanoi Jane stands for and represents.
Before the march, Fonda spoke briefly to a few hundred people at the Navy Memorial. The event was sponsored by Code Pink, an antiwar group started by women. On the other side of Pennsylvania Avenue, three dozen protesters organized by the conservative Web site Free Republic held up signs calling protesters traitors and terrorist sympathizers.
“Jaaaaannnneeeee Fonda has blood on her hands!” chanted one man with a megaphone. (Washington Post)

Terrorist Beheading Plot Foiled in Great Britain, War on Terror
Nine suspects have been arrested in a foiled terror plot in an “alleged Iraq-style kidnapping and beheading plot in the UK.” More on this report and updates from The Jawa Report.
This as numerous devices have been investigated in Boston, MA initially reported as potential bombs. The reported 6 to 10 devices all appear to be “hoax devices.”

Nancy Pelosi & John Murtha Visit Iraq … Just Who the Troops Want to See, the face of Defeatism
Now Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi goes to Iraq on a fact finding mission? With all the criticism of the war now she makes an appearance. Note to Nancy … you will not find the answers in the safe and protected Green Zone.
The Pelosi delegation visited the heavily fortified Green Zone, site of the American Embassy, and met with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
“We come out of the meeting with a greater understanding of the others’ point of view,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said, in brief remarks after the meeting.
She said the delegation also came “to convey to our troops the appreciation of the American people for what they’re doing, to applaud their patriotism.”
Who are you kidding? All this said by Pelosi with a straight face. Our troops do not need applause, they need the means to successfully accomplish their goals. Not cut them off at the knees and pull the rug out from underneath them. More from The Gateway Pundit and Pelosi & Murtha On “Goodbye Baghdad” Tour. Michelle Malkin reporting that this should be a great moral boost for the troops. No sarcasm there. More moral boosting comments from My Pet Jawa.
President George W Bush replies, “I’m the decision-maker” about sending more troops to the war.
Fox News Poll: Are You Kidding Me … 49% of Democrats Unsure They Want USA to Win in Iraq?
Which is worse? Not wanting to win a war or not knowing if you want to win a war. Democrats wonder why people think they are weak on defense? Another thing, what is up with 33% of the people in general? You either do not want to win or don’t know yourself?
Maybe someone from this polled group can explain how losing in Iraq is in America’s national interest seeing that about 46% of people polled think a loss in Iraq would encourage terrorists to attack the US.
