Priceless, Napolitano Visits Afghanistan to Discuss Afghan Border Security, but Back Home Refuses to Secure USA – Mexico Border

File this one under, you have got to be “friggin” kidding me …

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano visits Afghanistan in an attempt to find new ways to establish a border security and customs system to counter terrorism while allowing legitimate travel and trade. WHAT!!! This from the same person who refuses to secure the US – Mexican border? Are you joking,  this is like a bad SNL skit.

I will secure the Afghan border just like I have done with the US-Mexican one

Question, what will Napolitano call the terrorist that sneak across the Afghan-Pakistan border … undocumented Jihadists? How can any one take this serious? Napolitano and her cronies are supposed to affect Afghan border security when right under her very nose in the United States she has failed miderably to secure let alone address the issue of the border.  Just ask the  family of deceased border agent Brian Terry whether Napolitano is doing a good job at securing the border? We have an Obama Administration that is more concerned with going after Arizona and their efforts to protect their citizens than they do securing the border. Now they are going to show their expertise in Afghanistan. I feel confident. Unconfirmed reports states that terrorist in Pakistan were wetting them self with laughter.

Six Department of Homeland Security (DHS) customs and border security officials will accompany Napolitano on the weeklong trip, which will include stops in Qatar, Israel and Belgium.

Napolitano spent Friday morning touring Afghanistan’s Torkham Border Crossing with Pakistan and meeting with Afghan an U.S. border security and customs officials to find new ways to establish a border-security and customs system to counter terrorism while allowing legitimate travel and trade.

Commander in Chief? Obama Makes Surprise Visit to Afghanistan and Forgets Coast Guard is a Branch of the Military

Commander in Chief?

President Barack Hussein Obama makes a surprise visit to Afghanistan to see the troops, ut to their surprise the Commander in Chief does not realize that the Coast Guard is a branch of the military, as he forgets to thank them. I guess they were not listed on his teleprompter.

“I think we’ve got every service here tonight,” Obama said at Bagram Air Base. He then called on the branches as their members cheered: “We’ve got Army. We’ve got Navy. We’ve got Air Force. I think we may have a few Marines around, too.”

Obama continued, “And a whole lot of folks from the 101st Airborne Division, the Screaming Eagles.”

Moving to his remarks, Obama said, “Now, here in Afghanistan …” Then, someone in the crowd shouted out, “Coast Guard!”

“Coast Guard?” Obama repeated. “Is that what I heard?”

Are you serious?

So Much for Those Obama Promises to the LEFT … Obama Officials Step Back from 2011 Afghanistan Exit Date

RUT-ROH … there will be hell to pay for Obama in Liberal Moonbat Land on this one …

It was one of Barack Obama’s campaign promises to the LEFT, that the US would be out of Afghanistan by July 2011. However, much like the many other promises like the closing of GITMO, Cap & Tax, et all … Obama appears to be back tracking. Obama officials are now publicly abandoning the July 2011 deadlines for the withdrawal from the war in Afghanistan.

Hey LEFT, Who’s your Obamamessiah now?

The Obama administration has decided to begin publicly walking away from what it once touted as key deadlines in the war in Afghanistan in an effort to de-emphasize President Barack Obama’s pledge that he’d begin withdrawing U.S. forces in July 2011, administration and military officials have told McClatchy.

The new policy will be on display next week during a conference of NATO countries in Lisbon, Portugal, where the administration hopes to introduce a timeline that calls for the withdrawal of U.S. and NATO forces from Afghanistan by 2014, the year when Afghan President Hamid Karzaionce said Afghan troops could provide their own security, three senior officials told McClatchy, along with others speaking anonymously as a matter of policy.

Oh how the LEFT is going to howl on this one as “The One” flip-flops on the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Obama had been told by many critics not to put a time line on the withdrawal; however, it fell upon his deaf ears. Now it not only looks like bad policy, Obama looks foolish in having to go back on his campaign promise. As Right Wing News aptly states, what did the LEFT think was going to occur, all of Obama’s promises  come with an expiration date.

What a year ago had been touted as an extensive December review of the strategy now also will be less expansive and will offer no major changes in strategy, the officials told McClatchy. So far, the U.S. Central Command, the military division that oversees Afghanistan operations, hasn’t submitted any kind of withdrawal order for forces for the July deadline, two of those officials told McClatchy.

The shift already has begun privately and came in part because U.S. officials realized that conditions in Afghanistan were unlikely to allow a speedy withdrawal.

“During our assessments, we looked at if we continue to move forward at this pace, how long before we can fully transition to the Afghans? And we found that we cannot fully transition to the Afghans by July 2011,” said one senior administration official. “So we felt we couldn’t focus on July 2011 but the period it will take to make the full transition.”

Wait for the liberal backlash on this one from the LEFT. can you say a Howard Dean challenge in the 2012 Democrat Presidental primary against Obama.

The Republicans ‘Pledge To America’ … The GOP Vision, So Much for the Party of No

So much for the GOP just being the party of no …

America is more than a country. America is an idea – an idea that free people can govern themselves, that government’s powers are derived from the consent of the governed, that each of us is endowed by their Creator with the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. America is the belief that any man or woman can – given economic, political, and religious liberty – advance themselves, their families, and the common good.

America is an inspiration to those who yearn to be free and have the ability and the dignity to determine their own destiny. Whenever the agenda of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to institute a new governing agenda and set a different course.

The Republicans offer a “Pledge to America” in the run up to the 2010 midterm elections. It is a 21 page (read here) ”pledge to Americans” to set forth a direction as to their vision and promise to America. They will formally unveil the PLEDGE TO AMERICA in Virginia this morning. The Weekly Standard weighs in and appropriately states the comparison between the 2010 Pledge to America and the 1994 Contract with America.

Jay Cost argues in this week’s issue of THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the “real worth” of the Republicans’ 1994 Contract with America “was in governing, not electioneering.” The same could be said of the House Republicans new governing agenda, a copy of which is now making the rounds.

For a breakdown of the document, check out “Pledge to America: The New Republican Agenda,” by CBS News Senior Political Producer Jill Jackson.
