City of Chicago Ban on Gun Sales Declared Unconstitutional by U.S. District Judge Edmond E. Chang

U.S. District Judge Edmond E. Chang has struck down Chicago’s law prohibiting the sale of guns within the city limits and declared in unconstitutional. In his ruling Judge Change said, “the right to keep and bear arms for self-defense under the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment must also include the right to acquire a firearm.”

Chicago law prohibiting the sale of guns within the third-most populous U.S. city was struck down as unconstitutional by a federal judge.

“Chicago’s ordinance goes too far in outright banning legal buyers and legal dealers from engaging in lawful acquisitions and lawful sales of firearms,” U.S. District Judge Edmond E. Chang wrote in a decision today.

The judge said he was delaying the effect of his ruling to allow the city time to seek a stay during an appeal or, if it elects to forgo an appeal, to consider and enact sales restrictions “short of a complete ban.”

City Hall attorneys had argued that the gun sale ban makes it harder for criminals to get their hands on weapons.

Chang agreed the city had a “fundamental duty” to protect its citizens and acknowledged that “the stark reality facing the City each year is thousands of shooting victims and hundreds of murders committed with a gun.”

But he wrote that the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms for self-defense “must also include the right to acquire a firearm.”

“If all cities and municipalities can prohibit gun sales and transfers within their own borders, then all gun sales and transfers may be banned across a wide swath of the country if this principle is carried forward to its natural conclusion,” he added.

Steven Seagal, the actor and martial arts expert says he is considering a run to be the governor of Arizona. Seagal said in an interview with ABC15 that the number one problem facing America today is open border. The 61 year old actor stated that because of the US open borders “any type of terrorism could come, and does come”.  Seagal had a pretty much common sense and factual approach on his views of borders amnesty and the need to secure our borders. Seagal goes on to discuss his association with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and that when they arrest someone who commits a crime, they do not care whether they are Mexican, Irish, French, German or Chinese.

Seagal says he’s had discussions with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio about the prospective bid, but has other priorities to consider.

The 61-year-old Seagal made the comments while talking about his newly released reality series “Steven Seagal – Lawman: Maricopa County” (The Lost Episodes.)

According to Seagal, the number one problem facing the U.S. is its open borders.

He told ABC that the country’s leading problem today is open borders, ‘I don’t think our biggest problem is Islamist terrorism in America. Oh I don’t think that’s it at all,’ he said. ‘The biggest problem is open borders. I think that across these borders, any type of terrorism can occur.’

He believes that open borders are, ‘ a tremendous oversight by the current administration.’

He quoted Reagan who said, ‘If you don’t have security on your borders you don’t have a country.’

One other issue Seagal would address is that of amnesty.

‘You have to be very careful with blanket pardons,’ he said.If you’re gonna pardon people you should do a background on them to make sure they’re safe for society.’

Seagal also told ABC that all he and Arpaio care about on their tv show is ‘whether or not you’re a criminal.’

He says that he and the tough sheriff do not discriminate based on race or nationality.

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) Says on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ …Obama’s Personality Makes It More Difficult For Senators To Work With Him

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) stated this Sunday morning on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ that Barack Obama’s personality makes it more difficult for Senators to work with him. Folks, this is coming from a Democrat Senator can you imagine how the GOP ones feel? Hmm, hasn’t it been the MSM and Democrats saying that the GOP has been inflexible and its those conservatives’ fault? You have a Democrat Senator saying that it is Obama’s personality, one might say driven by a one-way ideology, that is to blame for Senators to work with him.

The President’s failure to build friendships with lawmakers has damaged his chances of finding bipartisan support for legislation, a senator from his own party said Sunday.

“It’s just hard to say no to a friend,” Sen. Joe Manchin, D-West Virginia, said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“When you build that relationship and that friendship, you’re looking for ways to try to work things out and find a compromise and, you know, that friendship means an awful lot. When you don’t build those personal relationships, it’s pretty easy for a person to say, well, let me talk about it, you know, and not really make, you know, that extra effort.”
“You know, we all have different styles,” Manchin said. It’s “just not in the president’s nature to pal around,” the conservative Democrat said, adding that Obama doesn’t have a gregarious personality like former President Bill Clinton.

With the partisan gridlock and many senators up for re-election, Manchin, who has called for congressional action on tighter gun laws, said it’s going to be challenging to get such legislation passed next year, though he remains hopeful.

The War on CHRISTmas: Parents Livid as Long Island School Removes Words From Silent Night as Too Offensive

THE WAR ON CHRISTMAS CONTINUES WITH POLITICAL CORRECTNESS NONSENSE …

At Kings Point Intermediate School on Long Island, NY it was ok for the liberal school edumacators thought it was perfectly okay to offend Christians by sanitizing the Christmas song ‘Silent Night’ of all references to God so they did not offend others. Yup, because the birth of Jesus, the son of God is just of darn offensive. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! What kind of IDIOTS do we have running schools these days? Turns out they did offend many people, the parents that were wondering what song they were listening to their kids butcher.

There is anger at a Long Island school because they changed the words to the song “Silent Night.”

The district says it was to avoid offending people but it seems like it did the opposite.

Parents are so confused that 5th graders at RJO Intermediate School in Kings Park recently performed the song “Silent Night” with all religious words like Christ, God and Jesus taken out.

Dan Gallo, a parent of one of the students was completely offended by it.

“There is so many Christmas songs. Why would you change the lyrics to something that is very near and dear to so many people?” said Gallo.

Another parent, Tina Byrne, doesn’t have a problem with what the school did.

The school district says the school principal and the choral director decided to teach the students the altered version.

Duck Dynasty’s’ Phil Robertson on Indefinite Leave Afrter Following His Remarks on Homosexuality (Update: Phil Robertson Statement – ‘I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me’.)

Freedom of Speech & Religion is dead at ‘A&E” … GOOD GRIEF A&E, LET THEM BE!!!

Duck Dynasty is a huge success and loved by so many, but the show may be going the way of the Do-Do bird. A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite leave after he dare speak the truth of his religious beliefs in an interview with GQ Magazine. So once again we see that a network does not believe in freedom of speech or freedom of religion for an individual to make comments on his own time that had nothing to do with the show, Duck Dynasty. The comments that got Phil Robertson in trouble:

“It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me,” Robertson stated. “I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

A note to A&E, Phil Robertson did not say that his comments or beliefs were that of A&E. So much for tolerance at A&E. The reason why 9 million people watch Duck Dynasty is because these folks are common, folksy people that many can relate to and are real. They are not a train wreck like most all reality shows. How shameful that A&E be pressured by GLAAD.

A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ.

“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty,” A&E said in a statement. “His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

The news comes after Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality in an interview with the magazine. He’ll likely appear in season four, which bows Jan. 15, since production is largely wrapped.

“It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” Robertson says in the January issue of the men’s magazine. “That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

Weasel Zippers adds, Phil Robertson said, “It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me.” So true … and I would add that probably 99% of the men that watch Duck Dynasty probably feel the same.

UPDATE I: A&E released this statement from Phil Robertson addressing the controversy:

“I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the Bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together. However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.” Beyond that.

UPDATE II: Just another case of MEDIA BIAS.

Many people have argued over the years, in the face of the obvious evidence, that the media cannot be systematically biased to the Left because it would not make business sense to spurn more than half the population as customers. However, the recent decision by A&E to fire its biggest and most lucrative TV star because it is more concerned about catering to homosexuals than making money vividly demonstrates that politics and propaganda are more important to the media companies than making a profit:

A&E best be very careful as a backlash boycott and protest of the network and their sponsors by the 9 million viewers of Duck Dynasty could be right around the corner. A&E might want to “Fear the Beard,” this down home, country family is more popular than A&E.
