DOJ Reviewing Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf Who Tipped Off Illegals of Immigration Raids

DOJ REVIEWING ACTIONS OF OAKLAND, CA MAYOR WHO TIPPED OFF CRIMINAL ILLEGALS …

As reported at the LA Times, the DOJ is reviewing the actions of Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf who tipped off illegals of pending ICE raids. Her actions prevented many criminal illegals to flee and avoid arrest. One has to wonder just how are her actions not criminal in their own right? Whose side is she on? California is now so screwed up that we have mayors who are supposed to follow the laws of the United States, but would rather treat illegals better than they would actual legal citizens. The fact that a mayor helped criminals evade the law is unreal. Hopefully the DOJ will prosecute Schaaf and she will be jailed for her actions.

Libby Schaaf

The White House on Thursday said the Department of Justice was reviewing the actions of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, who last weekend alerted residents in advance of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement raid in Northern California.

“I think it’s outrageous that a mayor would circumvent federal authorities and certainly put them in danger by making a move such as that,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters.

She said Schaaf’s actions were under “review” but would not be more specific.

Justin Berton, a spokesman for Schaaf, said the mayor’s office is unaware of any review and declined to comment further. A Justice Department spokesman in the Bay Area also declined to comment.

Schaaf has defended her statement, saying she felt it was her duty to warn residents of the ICE action.

Oakland, like many California cities, has declared itself a sanctuary for those here illegally, and officials there have vowed to fight President Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Donald Trump 2018 State Of the Union: ‘Because Americans Are Dreamers, Too’ (VIDEO)

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP REMINDS DEMOCRATS,  AMERICANS ARE DREAMERS TOO …

During last nights State of the Union speech, President Donald Trump reminded all that “Americans are dreamers too.” Trump also went on to say that the “United States is a compassionate nation, that we do more than any other nation in the world to help the needy, the struggling and the under-privileged all over the world.” However, he stated as president, his major and primary “concern was for American’s children, America’s struggling workers and America’s struggling workers.” Trump extended an open hand and asked for Republicans and Democrats to come together and work for  together “to protect our citizens of every background, color, religion and creed.” It was met with mutual applause.

Then came the most memorable statement of the night. President Trump said, “My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber, is to defend Americans, to protect their safety, their families, their communities and their right to the American dream … BECAUSE AMERICANS ARE DREAMERS TOO!” Sadly, those on the LEFT take this as a negative. Imagine that. They are incapable of thinking that American children dream. They are incapable of understanding American exceptionalism. What happened to the America I once knew?

Harvard-Harris Poll Says Americans Want Massive Cuts to LEGAL Immigration

THE LEFT MAY FIND MORE ISSUES AHEAD WHEN IT COMES TO IMMIGRATION  …

A Harvard-Harris poll shows that Americans strongly support granting citizenship rights to illegal immigrant Dreamers.; however, it also showed strong support for President Trump’s three demands for a border wall, limits to the chain of family migration and an end to the Diversity Visa Lottery. But in a surprising result, the poll also showed that the public’s demand for lower overall legal immigration. The poll found that most Americans want annual legal immigration capped at 500,000 a year or less, much less than the current annual rate of 1.3 million.

A government shutdown is in the rear-view mirror, but the outlines of a looming immigration deal remain murky with the sides still far apart — though the latest polling suggests President Trump’s bargaining position may be strong.

A Harvard-Harris poll taken in the run-up to the shutdown found Americans strongly support granting citizenship rights to illegal immigrant Dreamers. But they also back Mr. Trump’s three demands for a border wall, limits to the chain of family migration and an end to the Diversity Visa Lottery.

Most striking of all is the public’s demand for lower overall legal immigration — a position that has little traction on Capitol Hill but one that is overwhelmingly popular across the country.

The poll found that most Americans want annual legal immigration capped at 500,000 a year or less — far lower than the current annual rate of 1.3 million.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2018 … One Day We “Will One Day Live in a Nation Where They Will Not Be Judged by the Color of their Skin but by the Content of their Character”

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY – 2018 … Because in the end, it is all about the content of one’s character.

On this MLK Day 2018, we once again join together as a nation and honor the message of Martin Luther King Jr.  We look back and reflect on “The Dream.”  Don’t let people tell you we have not, because we have come a long way as a people and a nation since the 1960′s. However, that is not to say we don’t still have a ways to go. I personally make it a point every MLK day to listen to the words of the slain Civil Rights leader and his “I Have a Dream” speech and reflect on what it means and where we are today with that dream. Today, we are a much better country and closer to Martin Luther King Jr’s dream. The United States of America has come a long way; however, the mission is not over. Recently we have been presented with the facts that black unemployment is at an all-time low. It can get even lower! “The Dream” is much like being a Christian or life in general. You don’t just all of a sudden say, okay, I have reached my goal and nothing more is needed. People are not perfect, they never will be. We strive to be good and follow Christian values. That does not mean we do not fail or fall short. Have we come a long way, yes. However, does that mean we have much more to do and always will. Don’t let negate noise get in the way of reality. Be a part of the continued Dream!

“I Have A Dream Speech” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

I have a dream that “The Dream” of Martin Luther King Jr. will be championed by real Civil Rights activists and not high-jacked by those for their own self-serving purposes and agenda and try to divide us as a country. To do so, to race-bait and to divide America whether you be a common American citizen, a pastor, a politician or a president does a disservice to Martin Luther King, Jr. and his “DREAM.” How I wish there was a true Martin Luther King Jr. alive today to champion the cause. We are closer than you think America, don’t let those that would divide us be victorious.

Full text of MLK Jr’s “I Have a Dream” speech:

I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.

[...]

And if America is to be a great nation this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!

Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California!

But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia!

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee!

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, “Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”

Democrat House Minority Leader Says …Wage Increases & Bonuses From Tax Reform are ‘Crumbs’ and ‘So Pathetic’ (VIDEO)

AND YOU WONDER WHY DEMOCRATS LOST THE BLUE COLOR VOTE … NANCY AND DEMOCRATS ARE OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE …

As everyday, hard working Americans are receiving bonuses, increases in 401K contributions and increases in pay as a result of the GOP/Trump tax cuts from businesses, Democrat House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi showed just how out of touch she and Democrats are with the below response. Pelosi actually called the $1000 bonuses to millions of American workers, “crumbs” and “pathetic.” How elitist could one possibly be? This just shows the disconnect between Democrats and the American people. Crumbs? Actually Nancy, it is you that is pathetic!

“In terms of the bonus that corporate America received versus the crumbs that they are giving workers to kind of put the schmooze on is so pathetic,” Pelosi told reporters. “It’s so pathetic.”

Via Business Insider:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday dismissed as “crumbs” the recent wave of bonuses given to workers by large corporations in the wake of the Republican tax law’s passage.

“In terms of the bonus that corporate America received versus the crumbs that they are giving workers to kind of put the schmooze on is so pathetic,” Pelosi told reporters. “It’s so pathetic.”

Pelosi’s comments came as many large companies have announced one-time bonuses for workers and pay increases as a result of the tax bill. Companies including AT&T, Wells Fargo, and Visa have all announced various pay increases, one-time bonuses, or benefits increases, citing the tax bill as a factor.

The White House particularly highlighted an announcement by Walmart on Wednesday. The retail giant said it would increase its minimum hourly wage to $11 an hour and offer long-time employees a $1,000 bonus.
