U.S. Suicide Rates Increased More Than 25% Since 1999

A TRULY TRAGIC AND STAGGERING INCREASE IN SUICIDES, WHY?

Suicide rates have increased 25% in the United States since 1999, and an even more alarming twenty-five states experienced a rise in suicides by more than 30%. Suicide has now become one of the top 10 causes of death in the U.S. According to the report, more than half of those who died by suicide had not been diagnosed with a mental health condition. But is that because they just had not been diagnosed or other reasons? Is it the increase in drug use (both illegal and prescription), online social media where keyboard cowards think they can threaten other bully other with impunity, lack of generational coping skills, or an absence of God? There is most likely no one answer, it is most likely a combination of many. The reality is that I would hope no one thinks their life is the worthless and suicide is a better answer. However, just this week I was presented with a friend who’s friend did just that and ended it all. Truly sad. Something must be done to investigate what the real causes are for such a terrible increases in a cause of death.

Suicide rates increased by 25% across the United States over nearly two decades ending in 2016, according to research published Thursday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Twenty-five states experienced a rise in suicides by more than 30%, the government report finds.

More than half of those who died by suicide had not been diagnosed with a mental health condition, said Dr. Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director of the CDC.

“These findings are disturbing. Suicide is one of the top 10 causes of death in the US right now, and it’s one of three causes that is actually increasing recently, so we do consider it a public health problem — and something that is all around us,” Schuchat said. The other two top 10 causes of death that are on the rise are Alzheimer’s disease and drug overdoses, she noted.

In 2016 alone, about 45,000 lives were lost to suicide.

“Our data show that the problem is getting worse,” Schuchat said.

Increases in 49 states.

To anyone thinking or even contemplating suicide, please get some help and talk to someone, anyone. Please don’t waste your life. It is a life worth saving. And for everyone else, please be more vigilant of those around you. Most likely they are crying out for help and we all are ignoring it and being too busy in our own lives to help. Suicide should never be the answer and we much reverse this trend for everyone’s sake.

May 2018 Jobs Report is Great News for Everyone in America Except Democrats Running for Office in 2018

As reported at CNBC, the May 2018 jobs report was good for everyone, except Democrat politicians looking for jobs in the 2018 midterm elections. The reality is that the U.S. economy is booming and it is President Donald Trump and the GOP who are responsible. Democrats have been nothing more than obstructionists and the “resistance” to President Trump’s agenda. Now all Americans, black, Hispanic, Asian, white, female, male, are all befitting from Trump’s economic agenda. Pelosi and Democrats would have you believe this is bad. Really? This is all they got and it is a lie.

  • Friday’s monthly employment report was great news for anyone looking for a job in America – unless you happen to be a Democrat running for Congress.
  • That’s because voters who are employed are historically more likely to favor incumbents than those who are out of work.

We thank from the bottom of our hearts those who we can no longer thank in person for their sacrifice to this great Country. Thank you and God Bless you. We shall never forget you your service and sacrifice.

During your Memorial Day get-togethers and picnics, please take time today to remember what this day is truly about and the men and women that we have lost.

America has lost so many lives to protect the freedoms and liberties that we hold to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. We have lost so many brave souls to not only protect our Freedoms, but the freedoms of others from tyranny.  On this day we remember that Freedom is never Free and all those that gave all in their service and sacrifice to us.

As always on this day and on a personal note I say thank you and you are so missed to my uncle Red who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. To the man and my namesake who means so very much to me and taught me so much. My uncle served in Patton’s 3rd Army where he received the following medals. a silver star. bronze star and multiple purple hearts.  So often he did not want to talk of what went on during his military server and his heroic efforts during WWII; however, true heroes are also humble. It was not until much later when I was in college and became a history major with a specialty in US military warfare and tactics did my uncle open up and provide me with the truth of what he experienced during his military days, some of that time spent in the Ardennes , better know as the Battle of the Bulge.

Following the airstrikes last night in Syria, Defense Secretary James Mattis and Gen. Joseph Dunford, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, state the airstrikes launched Friday evening were designed to inflict “maximum damage” to Syrian chemical weapons facilities. The Assad regime once again used brutal and illegal chemical weapons to kill innocent women children and other innocents. The U.S., France and UK found these actions unacceptable.  Mattis stated, “As our Commander in chief, the president has the authority under Article 2 of the Constitution to use military forces over seas to defend important United States interests.”

A note to the LEFT and the “never-Trumpers” who oppose Trump’s actions when you sat by like obedient Lemmings when Obama used similar action, is your hate for one individual really so much that you would allow the use of chemical weapons against women and children to go unchallenged? Really?

It would appear to Democrat House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi that size matters. She was taken aback by the size of President Donald Trump's border wall prototypes. While stammering through her words Pelosi said, "I mean, really? […] This is like a big wall.”

Keep talking Nancy …

Pelosi went on to mock the wall and call it ‘obnoxious.’ She stated that it was a big wall separating people. Separating people, huh? A note to the open borders Leftist Pelosi, it is a wall separating the border of two sovereign countries, where one of the countries people can’t seem to stay on their side. But yet there was no comment from Nancy Pelosi when Barack Obama raised the height of the fence around the White House by 5 feet. The Secret Service said that the ‘Current fence simply is not adequate for a modern era.’ So what is the difference with the fence at the U.S- Mexico border? It is obviously not adequate either.  But of course that is different.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi says border wall prototypes displayed for President Trump this week lack the hallmarks of a “civilized society.”

The old saying “good walls make good neighbors” was seemingly rejected by the California Democrat on Thursday during her weekly press conference. A question regarding a possible deal on “Dreamers” prompted Mrs. Pelosi to bristle at border wall prototypes recently shared with Mr. Trump in San Diego.

“The border — did you see it — how high it is?” she asked. “I mean, really? In a civilized society, we do something like that. As obnoxious as it is, you know that’s a community there with a border running through it. Okay, we have a difference of opinion on that, but a wall that big separating people? I mean, really? […] This is like a big wall.”
