As Obama White House Denies Threats to Woodward, Democrat Lanny Davis Admits to Threats From Obama White House as Well (Update: Add Ron Fournier to the List)

WOODWARDGATE CONTINUES …

As the Barack Obama White House denies that Gene Sperling, an economic adviser to the president, threatened journalist Bob Woodward, along comes this bombshell. FOX News contributor and former President Bill Clinton aid  Lanny Davis said he also received threats from the Obama regime. It would seem that the Obama Chicago-style brand of politics knows no bounds, including threatening the press. How ironic is it that the very group of people who have carried Obama’s water and acted more as a propaganda arm of the Obama White House than a fact checking, investigative news source, is actually being threatened behind the scenes. So much for the First Amendment and Freedom of the Press.

Lanny Davis stated that his editor was threatened by a senior Obama White House official ”that if he [the editor] continued to run my [Lanny Davis] columns, he would lose, or his reporters would lose their White House credentials.” Could Barack Obama be any more like Richard Nixon?

Bob Woodward isn’t the only person who’s received threats for airing the Obama administration’s dirty laundry.  It seems anyone is a potential target of the White House these days – even former senior members of the Clinton administration.

A day after Woodward’s claim that a senior White House official had told him he would “regret” writing a column criticizing President Obama’s stance on the sequester, Lanny Davis, a longtime close advisor to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL’s Mornings on the Mall Thursday he had received similar threats for newspaper columns he had written about Obama in the Washington Times.

Davis told WMAL that his editor, John Solomon, “received a phone call from a senior Obama White House official who didn’t like some of my columns, even though I’m a supporter of Obama. I couldn’t imagine why this call was made.”  Davis says the Obama aide told Solomon, “that if he continued to run my columns, he would lose, or his reporters would lose their White House credentials.”

But wait, there is more, add Ron Fournier to the list of media who have been threatened by this thug White House. What makes me think that this is not norm and not the exception and that this White House has been doing this all along?

As editor-in-chief of National Journal, I received several e-mails and telephone calls from this White House official filled with vulgarity, abusive language, and virtually the same phrase that Politico characterized as a veiled threat. “You will regret staking out that claim,” The Washington Post reporter was told.

As stated at the Hit and Run blog, the Most Openly and Transparently Thin-Skinned Administration in History. Amen brother. It was only made worse and enable by a cowardly and complicit media.

SEQUESTERGATE: Chicago-style politics at its worst … now they are attacking the press.

The Empire Strakes Back … Not only does the Barack Obama White House not like the Second Amendment, it would appear that they also have a disdain for the First Amendment and “Freedom of the Press”. A senior White House official threatened Bob Woodward in an email stating, “you will regret doing this”.  The “this” that is being referred to is veteran journalist Bob Woodward’s not carrying the water for Barack Obama like the rest of the liberal, corrupt media complex when last week Woodward called out Obama for what he said was “moving the goal posts” on the sequester by requesting that revenue be part of a deal to avert it. Woodward had previously stated, “So when the president asks that a substitute for the sequester include not just spending cuts but also new revenue, he is moving the goal posts… [T]hat was not the deal he made.” How dare anyone go against the imperial president Obama and call him for what he is, a liar. As stated at the PJ Tatler, Woodward spoiled Obama’s plan to blame the entire sequester on Republicans, then allow the cuts to hit, and blame them again.

So what does the Obama WH do, attack a member of the press and try and trivialize him. So much for “Freedom of the Press”. Woodward stated, “It makes me very uncomfortable to have the White House telling reporters, ‘You’re going to regret doing something that you believe in.” What must the rest of the MSM be thinking, who have never displayed a spine or journalistic integrity when reporting on President Obama?

Bob Woodward said this evening on CNN that a “very senior person” at the White House warned him in an email that he would “regret doing this,” the same day he has continued to slam President Barack Obama over the looming forced cuts known as the sequester.

CNN host Wolf Blitzer said that the network invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the White House declined.

During CNN’s “The Situation Room” interview with Wolf Blizer veteran journalist Bob Woodward stated that that a senior White House official threatened him saying, “It was said very clearly, you will regret doing this.” Bob Woodward calls the Obama Administration Mickey Mouse. Well, if the ears fit …

“[W] hen the president asks that a substitute for the sequester include not just spending cuts but also new revenue, he is moving the goal posts,” Woodward wrote. “His call for a balanced approach is reasonable, and he makes a strong case that those in the top income brackets could and should pay more. But that was not the deal he made.”

WOLF BLITZER, CNN: You’re used to this kind of stuff, but share with our viewers what’s going on between you and the White House.

BOB WOODWARD: Well, they’re not happy at all and some people kind of, you know, said, look, ‘we don’t see eye to eye on this.’ They never really said, though, afterwards, they’ve said that this is factually wrong, and they — and it was said to me in an e-mail by a top –

BLITZER: What was said?

WOODWARD: It was said very clearly, you will regret doing this.

BLITZER: Who sent that e-mail to you?

WOODWARD: Well, I’m not going to say.

BLITZER: Was it a senior person at the White House?

WOODWARD: A very senior person. And just as a matter — I mean, it makes me very uncomfortable to have the White House telling reporters, ‘you’re going to regret doing something that you believe in, and even though we don’t look at it that way, you do look at it that way.’ I think if Barack Obama knew that was part of the communication’s strategy, let’s hope it’s not a strategy, that it’s a tactic that somebody’s employed, and said, ‘Look, we don’t go around trying to say to reporters, if you, in an honest way, present something we don’t like, that, you know, you’re going to regret this.’ It’s Mickey Mouse. Isn’t this something? When Bob Woodward was reporting on Watergate and bringing down the presidency of Republican Richard Nixon, he was a hero. Now that Woodward is using the same truth and principles he did during Watergate against Barack Obama, the LEFT are attacking him. It is so predictable and pathetic. How about a little consistency folks? In all reality, had the liberal, corrupt media complex done their job and actually investigated this president, his anti-Constitution, green-energy payoffs would have made the Watergate scandal pale in comparison to the actions during the Obama administration.

Florence High School Student Suspended Over Picture of Gun on His School Issued Lap Top Background

So this is what the brilliance of schools and guns have come to in the United States? A high school student was suspended for having a picture of an AK-47 and a flag as his back ground on a school issued lap top. A picture?  The school said it has a policy of “sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures,” and cannot access, send, create or forward pictures that are considered “harassing, threatening, or illegal.” Um, how is a picture as a background on a pc threatening or harassing? It is on his lap top, not being sent to anyone. This is the stupidity that we deal with in schools today. This is what some one gets suspended for?

A high school student in Florence said he has been suspended because of a picture of a gun.

Daniel McClaine Jr., a freshman at Poston Butte High School, said he saved the picture as his desktop background on his school-issued computer.

A teacher noticed it and turned him in.

The picture shows an AK-47 on top of a flag.

McClaine said the school initially suspended him for three days Friday.

Since the laptop belongs to the school, the district policy states students are prohibited from “sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures,” and cannot access, send, create or forward pictures that are considered “harassing, threatening, or illegal.”

President Obama Scolds FOX News for Not Giving Him A Media Pass Like the Rest of the MSM … Trying to Silence Those Who Dare Question Him

America, want to know why “We the People” have a First Amendment and there is “Freedom of the Press”? Our Founding Fathers provided us with these liberties to prevent exactly what Barack Obama is attempting to do in bullying the media not to question his policies and agenda. Greta Van Susteren references this very notion as she stated,  ”apparently President Obama wants his usual media pass and Fox challenges his policies – which happens to be the media’s job.” Believe it or not America, it is American to question your leaders.

The ultimate bully

This was in response to President Barack Obama’s interview with The New Republic where he called out FOX News and Rush Limbaugh for being the problem with the dysfunction in Washington, DC and the gridlock due to GOP obstruction. Obama claimed that it if FOX News would not punish and bully Republicans when they do compromise, that things would be different. Does some one need to inform Obama that it is the media’s role to always question our government, not agree with them? But for Obama, the Imperial president, who seems more comfortable acting as a dictator than he does working under the confines of the US Constitution and our Republic.

President Obama in response to a question about working with Republicans: “One of the biggest factors is going to be how the media shapes debates. If a Republican member of Congress is not punished on Fox News or by Rush Limbaugh for working with a Democrat on a bill of common interest, then you’ll see more of them doing it. I think John Boehner genuinely wanted to get a deal done, but it was hard to do in part because his caucus is more conservative probably than most Republican leaders are, and partly because he is vulnerable to attack for compromising Republican principles and working with Obama.

The same dynamic happens on the Democratic side. I think the difference is just that the more left-leaning media outlets recognize that compromise is not a dirty word. And I think at least leaders like myself—and I include Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi in this—are willing to buck the more absolutist-wing elements in our party to try to get stuff done.

Greta Van Susteren went on to call out Obama and Democrats for the bullies that they really are. Which plays into the age old adage that we have known all along that if you are accusing some one else of doing something, you yourself are probably the guilty one. Who does not believe that Democrat leadership pressure and intimidate their members not to go on Fox News and if they do are provided pro-Obama talking points?

And do you know what else? Brace yourself for this one! Some Democrats have told me that they want to come on Fox to discuss issues but they get heat from their Leadership for appearing on Fox.  Does President Obama know that? So which Party is intimidating its members? And to say Senator Harry Reid is willing to compromise is just wrong.  He has not allowed a budget to get to the Senate Floor for years to even begin a discussion.  The budget process is where all compromise begins and ends and ended it before it even got started.

This is not the first time that Obama has done this. From the outset that have tried to marginalize and prevent Fox News from having the same access as the rest of the complicit, corrupt media complex. Otherwise known as the Obama propaganda machine.
