Newtown, CT Victims’ Families Sue Bushmaster, Manufacturer of AR-15, Gun Used by Adam Lanza in 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School Attack

The Sandy Hook Elementary School murders were unspeakable, however, this lawsuit is misguided and Unconstitutional …

The murders of 27 individuals, 20 of whom were children, at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012 was a crime so heinous that it was hard to fathom how anyone could be so insane and filled with hate. However, 20 year old gunman Adam Lanza committed this act of violence as he barged into a defenseless elementary school and  took part in the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history. Now the families of nine people killed in the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre are suing Bushmaster, a privately held company based in Windham, Maine that manufacture the AR-15. This was the gun that Lanza used in the mass murders.

The 40 page lawsuit, filed in Connecticut Superior Court in Bridgeport, names Bushmaster, the weapons distributor and the retailer, Riverview in East Windor, that sold the gun used in the shooting as defendants. The plaintiffs seeks unspecified monetary damages.

AR-15

The families of nine people killed in a 2012 massacre at a Newtown, Connecticut, elementary school sued the maker of the gun used in the attack on Monday, saying the weapon should not have been sold because it had no reasonable civilian purpose.

While the AR-15 assault weapon used in the attack on Sandy Hook Elementary School was legally sold in Connecticut, the lawsuit contends that the weapon should not have been available to 20-year-old gunman Adam Lanza. The AR-15 is manufactured by Bushmaster, a privately held company based in Windham, Maine.

Lanza shot dead 20 first-graders and six educators in the Dec. 14, 2012, attack, which stands as one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history. The massacre sparked a fresh debate on gun rights, which are protected by the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

“This is a weapon that is designed for military use, for killing as many people as efficiently as possible,” Michael Koskoff, a lawyer for the plaintiffs, said in a phone interview. “It’s negligent for any seller to sell a weapon like that to the general public.”

As tragic as the Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre was and as much we hope that the families affected by this tragedy can move forward from this devastating act of violence at the hands of Adam Lanza, I am sorry but this law suit is misguided. The gun was legally bought by Adam Lanza’s mother, who was also murdered by this sick kid. The guns were legally registered to Nancy Lanza. Adam Lanza was refused the purchase of a firearm as he did not pass back ground checks. If anyone was negligent, one might say it was the mother who shared her gun enthusiasm with her mentally deranged son and did not properly lock them away from this killer. Millions of Americans own AR-15′s and use them for person and civilian use. The notion that plaintiff attorneys say that this weapon is only for military use is incorrect. The AR-15 is not an assault weapon, however, the liberal MSM would like you to think so. What Adam Lanza did was an heinous an act possible … but suing a gun manufacturer that is protected by the Second Amendment and followed all the laws is wrong.

Sandy Hook Families File Wrongful-Death Suit Against Gun Manufacturer:

The lawsuit, hand-delivered to a Connecticut state marshal on Saturday, names as defendants Bushmaster Firearms International LLC, which is owned by Remington Outdoor Co.; Camfour, a company that distributes Bushmaster products; and Riverview Gun Sales, a East Windsor, Conn., gun shop that sold the rifle to Ms. Lanza.

It claims the gunmaker, the firearms distributor, and the store that sold firearm are liable for producing and selling a weapon unfit for civilian use, reports WSJ’s Joseph De Avila.

Remington declined to comment. Camfour and Riverview Gun Sales didn’t return requests for comment.

George Kollitides, the chief executive of Remington Outdoor, told the Washington Times in June 2013 that Mr. Lanza alone, and not the rifle, was to blame for the killings.

“It’s very easy to blame an inanimate object,” he said. “Any kind of instrument in the wrong hands can be put to evil use. This comes down to intent — criminal behavior, accountability and responsibility.”

“Piers Morgan Live” Soon to be Piers Morgan Canceled … CNN Gives Low Ratings Show the Axe … Get Ready for his Kicking & Screaming

CNN is giving ‘Piers Morgan Live’ given the boot … Piers Morgan, Not-So Live.

As reported at The Politico, CNN is canceling Piers Morgan’s low rated 9pm show. The 3 year experience to replace Larry King Live has crashed and burned badly with a prime time show that got consistently low ratings. CNN stated that the show could end as early as next month. It probably could not happen soon enough as “Piers Morgan Live” is simply unwatchable. So who will be next up for CNN to take on Megyn Kelly on Fox News and Rachel Maddow at MSNBC at 9PM? Some seem to think Bill Weir. All we know for now is that Piers Morgan is out … good riddance to bad rubbish!

The below video is exhibit 1 of the reason why Piers Morgan’s show has been canceled. Guests Dana Loesch and Scottie Hughes own Morgan in the gun debate so much so at the very end the CNN host winds up in a snit … “It makes me sick”. Actually Piers, your show made many more sick and the reason why no one watched it0 One last thing … Bu-bye!!!

CNN President Jeff Zucker has decided to bring an end to Piers Morgan’s low-rated primetime show, network sources told POLITICO on Sunday. “Piers Morgan Live” could end as early as next month, though Morgan may stay with the network in another role.

Morgan, a former British tabloid editor, replaced Larry King in the 9 p.m. hour three years ago, prior to Zucker’s tenure as president. His show earned consistently low ratings, registering as few as 50,000 viewers in the 25-to-54 year-old demographic earlier this week.

“CNN confirms that Piers Morgan Live is ending,” Allison Gollust, head of CNN communications, told POLITICO on Sunday after an earlier version of this post was published. “The date of the final program is still to be determined.”

Earlier on Sunday, Morgan told The New York Times that the show had “run its course” and that he and Zucker “have been talking for some time about different ways of using me.” Sources who spoke to POLITICO said the decision to end the show was Zucker’s.

Live + Same Day Cable News Daily Ratings for Thursday,  February 20, 2014:

Check out the unbelievable, consistent low ratings of Piers Morgan. It is hard to believe they stuck with him this long. The funny part is I have watched more shows of American Greed on CNBC than Piers.

CNN_Piers Morgan ratings

As The Other McCain opines, this is the “first smart move that network has made in years.” I could not agree more. The money line comes from The Guardian that emphasize the following comments from the New York Times article that Morgan was a square peg in a round hole. Really, after all this time CNN finally figured out that a liberal Brit going against the United States Constitution and the First Amendment was a bad thing? God figure.

“It’s been a painful period and lately we have taken a bath in the ratings,” Morgan told the New York Times, which first broke news of the CNN decision on Sunday.

“Look, I am a British guy debating American cultural issues, including guns, which has been very polarizing, and there is no doubt that there are many in the audience who are tired of me banging on about it.”

LOL, remember when Piers Morgan told CBS News during his book tour that, “I will be taken out of CNN kicking and screaming. I absolutely love it. It’s a fantastic network. It’s a great news place to be.”

Uber Lib Comedian Bill Maher Makes Mass Shooting Gun Joke at Country Music Awards in an Attempt at Humor

Just curious, who said that Bill Maher was funny?

As reported at the Politico, so-called liberal funny man Bill Maher said during his HBO program, “Real Time with Bill Maher,” that a mass shooting should take place at the Country Music Awards in response to the mass gay weddings performed at the recent Grammy Awards. Wow really, that was so funny I forgot to laugh. What is up with liberals fascination with violence, murder and death? What makes them so miserable, when it comes to a US Constitution, Bill of Rights Amendment that gives American’s the right to bear Arms? These are people who would rather have an unarmed people not be able to defend themselves and be at the mercy of thugs, punks and a criminal class.

Idiot of the Day

Taking a swipe at conservatives on gun control, liberal comic Bill Maher joked that a mass shooting should take place at the Country Music Awards.

“Now that liberals have forwarded their agenda by inserting a mass gay wedding into the Grammys, conservatives must match them tit-for-tat by having a mass shooting at the Country Music Awards,” Maher said Friday during his HBO program, “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

Maher’s joke follows the mass weddings performed during the Grammys this past Sunday, in which both same-sex and heterosexual couples were married. Conducted as musician Macklemore and Ryan Lewis sang “Same Love,” it was widely viewed as a call for marriage equality.

PJ Media could not have stated it any better.

Tennessee, where the CMA show is held, has very liberal (in the best sense of the word) gun laws and a permit to carry a concealed handgun is relatively easy to get for law-abiding citizens. I don’t know if the venue where the awards are held — the Bridgestone Arena — has a posted ban on carrying firearms, but even if they do you can bet the bodyguards of country music stars suffer from no such restrictions.

In short, Bill Maher’s sick joke was not only idiotic, it displayed his towering ignorance of guns and the gun culture, as well as an inability to recognize the efficacy of intelligent gun laws.
