President Obama Waited 3 Days after IRS Apology to Address IRS Scandal of Targeting Conservatives and Uses the “IF” Word … “IF in fact IRS Personnel Engaged in the Kind of Practices that Have Been Reported on …
With President Barack Obama, it all depends on what “IF” is … When it Comes to an Enemies List.
Talk about late to the game. Finally after three days President Barack Obama addresses the scandal of the IRS targeting Conservative groups like the Tea Party or non-profit groups with the word “patriot” or groups that would teach others of the US Constitution. Barack Obama tried to absolve himself from the scandal by saying he just learned about this scandal on Friday when the report came out. Really Mr. President, you just learned about it? Next thing you are going to tell us that the Benghazi attack was a result of the video tape. Obama went on to say with a look of a child who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, ”If in fact IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practice that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting Conservative groups then that’s outrageous. And there is no place for it. And they have to be held fully accountable”. IF THIS IS TRUE? IF? Has Obama been listening to what the IRS has been saying or is he just not that bright? The IRS has already admitted that they intentionally targeted Conservative non-profits, and those organizations that would educate as to the US Constitution on and those that would dare criticize the Obama government. Mr. Presidnt, why do you think the IRS apologized … um, for their intentionally targeting of Conservative groups. Also Mr. President, what the IRS did was not just outrageous, IT WAS ILLEGAL!!!
Hey America, this is the same IRS that is in charge of enforcing Barack Obama’s Obamacare. How’s that “Hopey-Changey” stuff working out for ya?
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GET BIG GOVERNMENT TYRANY AND LIBERTY DIES
On Monday, President Obama called the singling out of conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service “outrageous”, adding: “I have no patience with it. I will not tolerate it.”
Obama’s strong condemnation of the growing scandal came amid similar denunciations from Democratic elected officials. Montana Sen. Max Baucus called it an “outrageous abuse of power and a breach of the public’s trust.” West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin described the IRS’ actions as “unacceptable and un-American.” You get the idea.
The question being asked in the political world today is whether the condemnations are too little, too late. As in, did the Obama Administration — and other Democrats in the House and Senate — miss their chance to claim some sort of high(ish) message ground by largely taking a pass on the story when it broke on Friday morning?
So why is Barack Obama so outraged? The IRS really didn’t do anything that his own reelect campaign did not do with the Tea Party, Conservative or those who believe in the US Constitution and put them all on an Obama enemies list. Wasn’t it this president who created a snitch website in 2012 for moonbats to report anyone who dare make comments about Obama and criticize him called Attack Watch?
Better than Obama’s dribble of trying to BS the American public that he never knew of any of this comes the quote of the day from Hot Air. Attorney Dan Backer, whose client TheTeaParty said, “And that’s when we knew it was gonna be a problem.”… “Nobody wipes their own ass in the government without a lawyer clearing it,” Backer said. “The idea that this is not at least a few layers up is nonsense.”
EXIT QUESTION: For Obama being the supposed smartest President ever, why does he always seem to play dumb when confronted with a scandal?
IRS Targeted Conservative Groups, Tea Party, Patriots & Non-Profit Groups that Criticized the Obama Government and Sought to Educate Americans About the U.S. Constitution
If it looks like an enemies list, walks like an enemies list and talks like an enemies list … guess what America, IT’S AN ENEMIES LIST.
How bad is the recent revelations that the IRS purposely and willfully targeted Conservative groups like the Tea Party and organizations with “tae party” or “patriot” in their name? Even the not so-conservative Washington Post is coming out swinging against the Internal Revenue Service and the Obama Administration. The IRS tried to preempt the damning news on Friday that the they were targeting conservative groups, in an effort to get ahead of the story that was going to be much, much worse. Thus, the so-called IRS apology that they had been doing this since 2012 was pretty much BS as it was only the tip of the iceberg. We then found out that high ranking IRS officials knew since 2011. We are now finding out that the IRS targeted Conservative non-profits that dared used their First Amendment rights if an organization criticize the Obama government or dared sought to educate Americans on the United States Constitution. HUH? This is still America, isn’t it? Sorry, but even the liberals have an issue with this as it looks extremely “Nixonian”.
At various points over the past two years, Internal Revenue Service officials singled out for scrutiny not only groups with “tea party” or “patriot” in their names but also nonprofit groups that criticized the government and sought to educate Americans about the U.S. Constitution, according to documents in an audit conducted by the agency’s inspector general.
The documents, obtained by The Washington Post from a congressional aide with knowledge of the findings, show that the IRS field office in charge of evaluating applications for tax-exempt status decided to focus on groups making statements that “criticize how the country is being run” and those that were involved in educating Americans “on the Constitution and Bill of Rights.”
AMERICA … THE IRS WAS TARGETING THOSE THAT WOULD DARE EDUCATE OTHERS ON THE US CONSTITUTION!!! WHAT THE HELL HAS THIS COUNTRY BECOME UNDER PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA? HOW’S THAT FOR SOME HOPE AND CHANGE.
The IRS tried to preempt this PR nightmare with a half-hearted apology and stated, do not worry though, even though we only targeted Conservative organizations like the Tea Party, it was not motivated by politics or political bias. How can anyone say this with a straight face? The single most feared government agency acting like the “Gestapo” to intimidate those that are against the current administration and we are supposed to believe that it was not political. Really? Just curious, how many non-profits with “progressive” were targeted? Ah, nearly none.
Folks on the LEFT and the RIGHT are concerned over this situation with the IRS. As Susan Collins, the Republican Senator from Maine stated on CNN over the weekend, “This is truly outrageous. And it contributes to the profound distrust that the American people have in government.” She also stated, ”And I think that it’s very disappointing that the president hasn’t personally condemned this and spoken out.” Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers told “Fox News Sunday.” “I don’t care if you’re a conservative, a liberal, a Democrat or a Republican, this should send a chill up your spine. It needs to have a full investigation.”
Just how bad is it when the WAPO says, You Betcha the IRS should be investigated?
It’s just a coincidence that all this started just after the 2010 midterm elections when the Tea Party became a major player and inflicted a “shellacking” on the Democrat party and Barack Obama. Coincidence indeed. Also, most TRANSPARENT presidency is history, eh? But there is nothing politically motivated about any of this.

US Senator Susan Collins (ME-R) Says IRS Bias Revelations that They Targeted Specific Political Organizations Will Only Fuel Government Distrust … “Disappointing that the President hasn’t Personally Condemned This”
US Senator Susan Collins (ME-R) was on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ with Candy Crowley this morning discussing the recent revelations that the IRS was illegally targeting Conservative organizations like the Tea Party. Collins stated that the IRS’s apology and reasons for targeting Tea Party groups did not pass the smell test. Collins went on to say that the IRS’s actions, “This is truly outrageous. And it contributes to the profound distrust that the American people have in government.” She also stated, ”And I think that it’s very disappointing that the president hasn’t personally condemned this and spoken out.” The president needs to make it crystal clear that this is not acceptable in America. Collins also said she doesn’t believe that the case was a result of just a few “rogue” IRS employees. These comments are coming from A RINO from Maine, hardly the right wing.
President Barack Obama found time to condemn the police in Cambridge, MA when Obama acted “poorly” and he found the time to condemn how the police initially handled the case of the death of Trayvon Martin. But when it comes to Conservative groups, the Tea Party and the IRS acting with an enemies list, the cat has Obama’s tongue.
President Barack Obama should personally condemn the Internal Revenue Service for putting extra scrutiny on conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status, Sen. Susan Collins said Sunday.
The Maine Republican said the disclosure that a government agency would go after groups with “tea party” or “patriot” in their names would only add to a growing sense of mistrust Americans have in their government. She was one of a number of Republicans who blasted the IRS on Sunday’s talk shows.
“This is truly outrageous. And it contributes to the profound distrust that the American people have in government. It is absolutely chilling that the IRS was singling out conservative groups for extra review. And I think that it’s very disappointing that the president hasn’t personally condemned this and spoken out,” Collins told CNN chief political correspondent Candy Crowley on “State of the Union.”
Rep. Mike Rogers, who chairs the House Intelligence Committee, called for a full investigation of the IRS’ practices.
“I don’t care if you’re a conservative, a liberal, a Democrat or a Republican, this should send a chill up your spine,” Rogers said on “Fox News Sunday.”
A congressional investigation would probe who knew what and when, Rep. Darrell Issa told CNN Sunday. Issa is the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight.
“The fact is if you’re doing something and it’s wrong, it’s illegal, it’s the kind of thing that scares the American people to their core, when Americans are being targeted for audits based on their political beliefs, that needs to change,” he said.

And the Other Shoe has Dropped … Senior IRS Officials Knew Tea Party was Targeted in 2011, not 2012 … Why Has No One Been Fired?
So we have a government agency that is targeting groups in the United States for their 1st Amendment political free speech and no one has been fired?
The other day when the IRS came out and apologized for targeting Conservative groups and Tea Party organization, we asked, is this the tip of the iceberg, where are the rest of the cockroaches? Others, like Powerline, were pondering as well as to why now the IRS would make such an apology. We now know why the IRS apologized. They were trying to get ahead of the real story that the Politico is saying is supposed to be released next week. But even in their apology, they lied. As reported by the AP, senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew agents were targeting tea party groups as early as 2011. That is quite a bit different from the 2012 apology. Also, this is quite a bit different from IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman telling Congress in 2012 that the IRS was not targeting groups based on their political views. This would be called lying to Congress or perjury. Add another scandal to the Obama presidency … IRS-gate.
DRIP (American Thinker), DRIP (Hot Air), DRIP (Legal Insurrection) … The IRS scandal just got a whole lot worse. Everyone in America across political lines should be outraged.

Senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew agents were targeting tea party groups as early as 2011, according to a draft of an inspector general’s report obtained by The Associated Press that seemingly contradicts public statements by the IRS commissioner.
The IRS apologized Friday for what it acknowledged was “inappropriate” targeting of conservative political groups during the 2012 election to see if they were violating their tax-exempt status. The agency blamed low-level employees, saying no high-level officials were aware.
But on June 29, 2011, Lois G. Lerner, who heads the IRS division that oversees tax-exempt organizations, learned at a meeting that groups were being targeted, according to the watchdog’s report. At the meeting, she was told that groups with “Tea Party,” ”Patriot” or “9/12 Project” in their names were being flagged for additional and often burdensome scrutiny, the report says.
Conservative Radio Talk Show Host Phil Valentine providing his 2 cents on government waste and overtaxation
A note to IRS Director of Exempt Organizations Lois G. Lerner, it is not wrong, it is not incorrect, insensitive or inappropriate … IT IS ILLEGAL!!! So now we are learning that the harassment and illegal targeting of Tea Party groups as an enemies list was happening in 2011, long before the 2012 president election season. Of course this was not done to prevent the Tea Party from having a greater impact in the 2012 elections was it? Never! We have been told that this was not done by political appointees, but rather career IRS employees. This is supposed to be a good thing? You mean we have bias, career employees in the IRS who have taken political sides? Hmm, an enemies list and a government agency acting in a “Gestapo” type manner … How Nixonian. SO WHY HASN’T ANYONE BEEN FIRED!!!
UPDATE I: CNS News is reporting that the Ways and Means to IRS: ‘Provide All Communications Containing Words ‘Tea Party,’ ‘Patriot,’ or ‘Conservative’—By Wednesday.
The House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Oversight has thrown down an investigative gauntlet to the Internal Revenue Service, demanding that the agency hand over by next Wednesday every communication in its records that includes the words “tea party,” “patriot” or “conservative.”
The committee is also demanding of the IRS that by next Wednesday it provide the committee with the names and titles of all individuals who were involved in targeting conservative non-profit groups for more intensive review of their applications for non-profit status.
How come we did not hear anything like this during George W. Bush?

IRS Admits Trageting Conservatives for Extra Tax Scrutiny in 2012 Election … Claimed there was No Political Bias Behind the Alinsky Targeting Tactics
ADD ANOTHER SCANDAL TO THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION … MORE CHICAGO STYLE, SAUL ALINSKY POLITICS … WHEN IS AMERICA GOING TO ADMIT THAT OBAMA IS NIXONESQUE?
The IRS apologizes for targeting Conservatives and Tea Party groups … apology not accepted! Should this be considered a “hate crime”? The IRS was obviously only targeting a certain element of society. Of course the IRS did not target Conservative groups to retaliate against Obama enemies list. That could never happen.
What a shock that the Obama IRS would act as his henchman to go after Conservatives and Tea Party groups. All the IRS has to offer is an apology? This is simply unacceptable and all involved need to be fired, without pensions immediately! As reported at the WAPO, IRS officials claimed that there was no political bias behind the targeting of these conservative groups, but they failed to produce any examples of similar targeting of groups with non-conservative-sounding names. MY BUTT!!! What a joke this is, of course it was politically motivated. It was just a coincidence that it was only Conservative Tea Party orgs that were targeted. If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you. Talk about abuse of power. This admissions from the IRS is exactly what Conservatives have been accusing them of years and now “We the People” know its true. How can anyone have faith in this “Gestapo” organization ever again?
1. IRS officials claimed that there was no political bias behind the targeting of these conservative groups, but they failed to produce any examples of similar targeting of groups with non-conservative-sounding names. Initially, they suggested that other non-conservative-sounding names might have been targeted. By the end of the call, though, Lerner acknowledged: “I only said that because I never like to say ‘absolutely not.’ I don’t have any information on that.”
2. Lerner wouldn’t say whether anyone is being disciplined, then appeared to say there was no disciplinary action, then went back to saying she wouldn’t comment. (more)
This is the tip of the iceberg and follows the “cockroach” principle … this is what they have admitted to, what else are they guilty of like who they audit, hmm? Obviously, the Obama administration used Alinsky tactics & IRS to ensure Tea Party would not be a factor in 2012.
The Internal Revenue Service on Friday apologized for targeting groups with “tea party” or “patriot” in their names, confirming long-standing accusations by some conservatives that their applications for tax-exempt status were being improperly delayed and scrutinized.
Lois G. Lerner, the IRS official who oversees tax-exempt groups, said the “absolutely inappropriate” actions by “front-line people” were not driven by partisan motives.
Rather, Lerner said, they were a misguided effort to come up with an efficient means of dealing with a flood of applications from organizations seeking tax-exempt status between 2010 and 2012.
During that period, about 75 groups were selected for extra inquiry — including burdensome questionnaires and, in some cases, improper requests for the names of their donors — simply because of the words in their names, she said in a conference call with reporters.
The Gateway Pundit reminds us of the when in 2012, conservative groups complained that the IRS was targeting them for audits. IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman told Congress that the IRS was not targeting groups based on their political views.
UPDATE I: From the Committee on Oversight & Government Reform: Issa and Jordan: IRS Political Retaliation Tactics “Unconscionable”.
As Weasel Zippers stated, “heads should roll”. As we stated above, there is not one person who should be spared … ALL SHOULD GO, WITHOUT PENSIONS AND CRIMINAL CHARGES SHOULD BE MADE.
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and Subcommittee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio., requested the IG look into allegations of political retaliation last June. In response to the today’s disclosure and apology by IRS, Issa and Jordan issued the following statement: “The fact that Americans were targeted by the IRS because of their political beliefs is unconscionable. The Committee will aggressively follow up on the IG report and hold responsible officials accountable for this political retaliation.”
UPDATE II: A Public Service Announcement to the American People via Legal Insurrection … As IRS admits it targeted Tea Party groups, remember IRS is Obamacare enforcer.
UPDATE II: From The Weekly Standard - The Times & the IRS Story … It’s not front page news, apparently. Think the same would hold true under a GOP presidency?
Not front page material in the Grey Lady’s news judgment. But good enough for page A-11. With the third paragraph reassuring readers that an agency spokesperson had insisted
… that the move was not driven by politics, but she added, “We made some mistakes; some people didn’t use good judgment.”
But of course. One does wonder, though, how the Times would have played the news if, a few years back, it had come to light that the IRS had been auditing Valerie Plame.
But … then, perhaps in the Times’s lofty judgment, the IRS was merely doing what it should do. This, anyway, was how the Times editorial page saw it last year:
