77% of Americans Agreee with Tea Party and not Democrats … Want to Cut Spending

Once again a majority of Americans are on the side of the Tea Party …

In a recent CBS poll, 77% of Americans agree with the Tea Party platform of cutting spending rather than raising taxes in order to cut he federal deficit. Only 9% said they wanted to raise taxes. The full poll can be seen HERE (pdf). The American public has lost their appetite for out of control government spending. I guess its fair to say that the folks in Illinois are livid over ther soon to be 66% tax increase.

 A new CBS News poll finds that Americans strongly prefer cutting spending to raising taxes to reduce the federal deficit. While 77 percent prefer to cut spending, just nine percent call for raising taxes. Another nine percent want to do both.

Yet most Americans could not volunteer a program they’d be willing to see cut in order to reduce the deficit – only 38 percent could name a program they would support cutting. The top responses were military/defense (six percent), Social Security/Medicare (four percent) and welfare/food stamps (four percent).

However, Americans are more willing to consider cuts when presented with specific ideas, as the chart above illustrates. The most popular ideas for reducing the deficit are to reduce Social Security benefits for the wealthy, reduce the money allocated to projects in their own community, reduce farm subsidies and reduce defense spending. More than 50 percent supported reductions in each of those programs.

Weasel Zippers could not have stated it any better, In related news, 77% of Americans are now considered extremist teabaggers by the left. I guess its easy to see why Democrats were hammered in the 2010 election and if they keep it up will not fair any better in 2012.

Outgoing House Speaker Pelosi Has Lost Her Mind, She Says “Deficit Reduction Has Been a High Priority”

UNBELIEVABLE …is it any wonder why Democrats lost their majority in the House and Pelosi lost her gavel.

Outgoing Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has either lost her mind, is delusional or is just a miserable liar who has no concept of reality or caring for the American people.  Speaker Pelosi told reporters today that, “Deficit reduction has been a high priority.”WHAT!!! With Pelosi Democrat math, a  $5.2 trillion federal defict increase in just four years is defined as a “Deficit Reduction”. How could this woman say this with a straight face? The answer, BOTOX. Then again, she also said she would run the most ethical Congress and drain the swamp. We all know how that turned out.

The numbers tell a different story.

When the Pelosi Democrats took control of Congress on January 4, 2007, the national debt stood at $8,670,596,242,973.04. The last day of the 111th Congress and Pelosi’s Speakership on December 22, 2010 the national debt was $13,858,529,371,601.09 – a roughly $5.2 trillion increase in just four years.Furthermore, the year over year federal deficit has roughly quadrupled during Pelosi’s four years as speaker, from $342 billion in fiscal year 2007 to an estimated $1.6 trillion at the end of fiscal year 2010.

Good Grief, National Debt over $4,000,000,000 … How Did Obama Used to Feel about Debt Ceiling?

UNREAL, the National Debt has now passed the $14 trillion mark for the first time ever. In just 7 months, the National Debt as increased from $13 trillion on June 1, 2010 to $14 trillion on Dec. 31. Good grief. And as Weasel Zippers preemptively respond to Obama and his Democrat minions, No, this isn’t Bush’s fault.

The latest posting today of the National Debt shows it has topped $14 trillion for the first time.

The U.S. Treasury website today reported that as of last Friday, the last day of 2010, the National Debt stood at $14,025,215,218,708.52.

It took just 7 months for the National Debt to increase from $13 trillion on June 1, 2010 to $14 trillion on Dec. 31. It also means the debt is fast approaching the statutory ceiling $14.294 trillion set by Congress and signed into law by President Obama last February.

The federal government would have to stop borrowing and might even default on its obligations if Congress fails to increase the Debt Ceiling before the limit is reached.

Some Republicans in the new Congress have said they’ll seek to block an increase in the Debt Ceiling unless a plan is in place to significantly reduce federal spending and unfunded government liabilities on entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare.

White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee warned yesterday.

However, as reported at the NRO President Obama’s economic advisor Austin Goolsbee argued  that a refusal by the Senate to increase the government’s debt ceiling would be “catastrophic” and a sign of “insanity.” Hmm, intertingly enough that’s not the position the Obama had in the past. 

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. US Representative Darrell Issa (R-CA), the incoming chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, says that the Obama Administration is one of the most corrupt, ever! The Democrat response was to criticize Issa for his partisan tone. That’s priceless, after what the 111th Nancy Pelosi led Democrat Congress just did in raising the partisan bar to new unprecedented levels.

Rep. Darrell Issa(R-Calif.), the incoming chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, was bullish in laying out his agenda for the new Congress with Republicans in control of the House.

Issa, who as chairman will have subpoena power, said he will seek to ferret out waste across the federal bureaucracy. While he used fiery rhetoric in describing the Obama administration in a series of television interviews Sunday, he said he will focus on wasteful spending, not the prosecution of White House officials.

Asked on “Fox News Sunday” about reports that the White House is staffing up on lawyers to prepare for his oversight hearings, Issa said: “They’re going to need more accountants.

What, an administration based on Chicago-style politics corrupt, well if the shoe fits. What is the White House’s response … hire more lawyers of course.  The reason for the investigations is oversight, don’t we really need accounts to see where the tax payer dollars have gone, not attorneys who will simply obstruct what happened?

President Barack Obama once again shows Americans what it means to sacrifice, NOT!  How is any one supposed to follow this president when he does not sacrifice himself? If one cannot lead by example, they cannot lead.

I wonder what the little people are doing

Once again Barack Obama shows a lack of leadership and failure to set an example for the American people. The do as I say, not as I do president thought it perfectly ok to spend “The People’s money” and have a 10 vehicle, 20 man motorcade, across highways cleared of traffic to reach his childhood friend Bobby Titcomb’sbeachfront house. What? Who does this? How does a president in the midst of a terrible economy who tells others to sacrifice continue to fail to set an example and just tell the people to “eat cake”.  Then again, who spends $1.4 million on a vacation in a recession? Obama learned so much from last year. Face it America, he just does not care.

Far be it from this president to sacrifice and think about not spending the tax payers money and just have invited his friend to where Obama was staying. Because that would just make too much sense. If that occurred Obama could not inconvenience every one with his motorcade and waste tax payers dollars, After all, he’s not spending his money.
