The United States and all Americans are on the verge of the fiscal cliff and Obama heads off to vacation in Hawaii as he tells all to let them Eat Christmas Cookies. What leadership from our president. Thanks America, you reelected him. There is a reason why Obama is called the Vacationer in Chief. All Americans are facing a tax increase come January 1, 2013 and Obama goes on vacation instead of hammering out a deal. UNREAL. Just this past week, the thin skinned president got defense about a question regarding mass murder violence during his first term. Obama stated, “I don’t think I’ve been on vacation.” It appears that is exactly just where you have been. How can any president just head off on vacation after literally doing nothing since election day to end the fiscal cliff crisis.

Let them eat Christmas Cookies 

President Barack Obama delivered an unexpected update on the status of negotiations to avert the year-end fiscal cliff, saying he was still optimistic that a “comprehensive” deal could get done before a deadline in 10 days.

“I want next year to be a year of strong economic growth. … Call me a hopeless optimist, but I still think we can get this done,” Obama said.

Obama said he hoped that the coming holiday break would give all parties in the fiscal cliff debate some “perspective,” telling members of Congress to “cool off, drink some egg nog, sing some carols” and eat Christmas cookies. Obama and his family will leave for Hawaii at 7:30 p.m. tonight.

Obviously Barack Obama is not concerned that 100% of Americans, including the middle class, are about to have their taxes increased. Hell, as it is Americans will face tax increases in 2013 thanks to Obamacare.  In 2011 Obama postponed his vacation in Hawaii with his family while the payroll tax vote was in limbo. Are you kidding me? Funny how he could give a $hit now that he has been reelected. The fiscal cliff is a bit bigger than the payroll tax, yet Obama has no issue taking a vacation like the Absentee President he is. My what a difference a year and a reelection makes.

Obama told leaders it would be unacceptable if House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) adjourned for Christmas next week without extending a 2-percentage point reduction of the payroll tax.

A White House official disputed the notion that Obama had altered his vacation plans because of Romney’s criticism.

The official noted that Obama had already threatened to spend Christmas with Republicans in Washington if Congress failed to take action on payroll taxes.

“We’re going to keep pushing Congress to make this happen,” Obama said Friday. “Now is not the time to slam the brakes on the recovery. Right now, it’s time to step on the gas. We need to get this done. And I expect that it’s going to get done before Congress leaves. Otherwise, Congress may not be leaving, and we can all spend Christmas here together.”

Obama’s $60.4 billion request for Hurricane Sandy relief for those that were directly affect by the “super storm” that devastated NY, NJ, CT and many other states has turned into nothing more than a Christmas stocking of goodies for things other than Sandy victims like  federal agencies and even the state of Alaska. This is exactly what is wrong with Washington, DC and politicians taking advantage of disasters and pissing away the hard earned tax payers money. Do you really ever wonder why our national debt is at $16 trillion and counting? These SOB’s just keep spending and spending and spending under the guise of doing good. UNREAL.

President Obama’s $60.4 billion request for Hurricane Sandy relief has morphed into a huge Christmas stocking of goodies for federal agencies and even the state of Alaska, The Post has learned.

The pork-barrel feast includes more than $8 million to buy cars and equipment for the Homeland Security and Justice departments. It also includes a whopping $150 million for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to dole out to fisheries in Alaska and $2 million for the Smithsonian Institution to repair museum roofs in DC.

An eye-popping $13 billion would go to “mitigation” projects to prepare for future storms.

Other big-ticket items in the bill include $207 million for the VA Manhattan Medical Center; $41 million to fix up eight military bases along the storm’s path, including Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; $4 million for repairs at Kennedy Space Center in Florida; $3.3 million for the Plum Island Animal Disease Center and $1.1 million to repair national cemeteries.

Budget watchdogs have dubbed the 94-page emergency-spending bill “Sandy Scam.”

This is the reason why Government should not be able to increase taxes on anyone. There is not a revenue problem, there is an spending problem and these people just won’t stop.

Suddenly Democrats Want to Delay ‘Job-Killing’ Obamacare Tax on Medical Devices

Now they are concerned. Suddenly 18 Democrat Senators want to delay the Obamacare “job-killing” tax on medical devices. 

Previously, then Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that we have to pass the bill [Obamacare] in order to find out what is in it. Really? Long after the Obamacare bill was passed politicians still refused to say what was in it, even though many on the Right stated that there were numerous taxes that would be bad for the economy. Suddenly, following the 2012 election Democrats have had an epiphany, have become enlightened and now are urging a delay in some of the taxes from the Affordable Care Act.

After all this time, after all their defense of Obamacare, suddenly sixteen present and two Senate-elect Democrat US Senators are sending Democrat Senate Majority leader Harry Reid a letter calling for a delay in the “job-killing” tax.  Even though some of the Senators on this list who have medical device companies in their states, they still voted for Obamacare. It is only now on the verge of the tax being implemented, January 1, 2013, it has become an issue.

Sixteen Democratic senators who voted for the Affordable Care Act are asking that one of its fundraising mechanisms, a 2.3 percent tax on medical devices scheduled to take effect January 1, be delayed. Echoing arguments made by Republicans against Obamacare, the Democratic senators say the levy will cost jobs — in a statement Monday, Sen. Al Franken called it a “job-killing tax” — and also impair American competitiveness in the medical device field.

The senators, who made the request in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, are Franken, Richard Durbin, Charles Schumer, Patty Murray, John Kerry, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar, Joseph Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Robert Casey, Debbie Stabenow, Barbara Mikulski, Kay Hagan, Herb Kohl, Jeanne Shaheen, and Richard Blumenthal. All voted for Obamacare.

Two other Democrats, senators-elect Joe Donnelly and Elizabeth Warren, also signed the letter. Donnelly voted for Obamacare as a member of the House. Warren was not in Congress at the time.

Suddenly after the election and all the lies that have been spewed about Obamacare, Democrats now have developed a conscience that Granny’s hip is going to cost more. However, in order to delay or get rid of this tax, Democrats are going to have to come up with $29 billion. That is the amount that is supposed to come in from this medical device tax. As stated at Powerline, Democrats are now admitting that Obamacare is a jobs killer. Where were they for the past four years? Its not just this tax that is a jobs-killer, all of Obamacare is one.

Of course the medical device tax will cost jobs, as will any number of other taxes that support Obamacare. These Democrats are latecomers to the party, and they would have more credibility if they had not voted for the bill in the first place. I suspect that what is going on here is that these Democrats know there is no chance the medical device tax will be repealed, but they want whatever political cover may come from having complained about it, notwithstanding that they voted for the tax.

There are consequences to votes and following Obama blindly so that liberals could accomplish their Holy Grail of socialized medicine. The result is a deviating effect on the economy.

Obama Willing to Go Off “Fiscal Cliff” to Raise Tax Rates on Rich … Harry Reid Blocks Senate Vote on Obama’s Deficit Reduction Plan

What a joke and you are to blame America … You voted this snarky, vindictive, non-serious President back into office and now America will suffer for years to come.  What a mess …

President Barack Obama nor US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid are not serious about  fixing the out of control government spending and the ever-growing $16 trillion national debt, all they care about is being vindictive and getting a liberal trophy for raising tax rates on the rich. Yesterday, Treasury Secretary Turbo Tax Timothy Geithner stated that the Obama administration “absolutely” willing to allow the United States to fall off the “fiscal” cliff unless Republicans drop their opposition to higher income tax rates on the wealthy. But what does this really do, nothing. The amount of revenue that would be gained as compared to the $16 trillion debt and continued +$1 trillion Obama deficit spending is like firing a pea at an elephant. The amount of revenue from raising tax rates on the rich would fund government for eight days. That’s it. So why is Obama so adamant about going off the fiscal cliff if tax rates are not raised? To of course get some kind of liberal trophy from the far Left of course. In the end it will accomplish nothing to help the problem we are in and will most likely cause us to go backwards into yet another recession.

President Obama’s lead negotiator in the “fiscal cliff” talks said the administration is “absolutely” willing to allow the package of deep automatic spending cuts and across-the-board tax hikes to take effect Jan. 1, unless Republicans drop their opposition to higher income tax rates on the wealthy.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said in an interview with CNBC that both sides are “making a little bit of progress” toward a deal to avert the “cliff” but remain stuck on Obama’s desired rate increase for the top U.S. income-earners.

So how serious is Obama and Reid about helping America through these troubled times of over spending? Not at all. they are merely playing party politics with America’s future. Barack Obama had presented a deficit reduction plan. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) offered an amendment to force a vote on President Obama’s deficit-reduction plan, however, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) blocked it. Do you think that Obama or Reid are serious about what they are doing? Hardly. Reid knew Obama’s plan was a pathetic joke and not serious. Reid knows that no self-respecting member of the Senate, including Democrats would vote for this crap. As reported at the Weekly Standard, Reid calls Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s request to vote on the plan a “stunt.” Really, what would you call Obama’s deficit reduction plan then, that you are unwilling to put to a vote knowing it would fail and embarrass Obama?

It is obvious that Obama wants to go over the fiscal cliff, thinks he does not to negotiate and believes he is a King not a President.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Wednesday offered an amendment to force a vote on President Obama’s deficit-reduction plan, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was having none of it.

“Last week [Treasury] Secretary [Timothy] Geithner brought up a proposal that was so unserious,” McConnell said on the floor, “I would like to see if my Democratic friends would like to support it.”

Senate vote on what he called the president’s “ridiculous” plan as an amendment to the Russian trade bill that is being considered.

Reid, however, objected to McConnell’s suggestion, saying the Russian trade bill, H.R. 6156, is about job creation, not political stunts from Republicans.

Barack Obama cared little during the first years of his first term as president what the people thought and forced through Obamacare. What exactly did you think this vindictive president was going to do if reelected knowing he does not have to face another election and has no accountability to ‘We the People”.

Two Thirds of Millionaires Go Missing in England to Avoid the 50% Tax Rate Hike

One might think that the United States would learn from what happened across the Pond. 

So President Barack Obama and the Left think that raising taxes n the so-called rich is the answer, eh? Take a good look what happened when the British PM raised taxes on millionaires. Two-thirds of millionaires either left the UK or reduced their taxable income in order to avoid the 50% take rate. The British naively thought they were going to increase revenues by merely increasing the tax rate on millionaires and doing simple math. However, instead of raising funds, it actually cost the UK £7 billion in lost tax revenue.

Almost two-thirds of the country’s million-pound earners disappeared from Britain after the introduction of the 50p top rate of tax, figures have disclosed.

In the 2009-10 tax year, more than 16,000 people declared an annual income of more than £1 million to HM Revenue and Customs.

This number fell to just 6,000 after Gordon Brown introduced the new 50p top rate of income tax shortly before the last general election.

The figures have been seized upon by the Conservatives to claim that increasing the highest rate of tax actually led to a loss in revenues for the Government.

It is believed that rich Britons moved abroad or took steps to avoid paying the new levy by reducing their taxable incomes.

Think Barack Obama and Democrats could learn from this? Hell no, Obama and Democrats can’t even learn from the government overspending and entitlement program fiasco going on in Greece.
