Former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez Charged with First Degree Murder of 27 Year Old Odin Lloyd
Former New England Patriot TE Aaron Hernandez was arraigned this afternoon in Attenborough District court and was charged with the first degree murder of 27 year old Odin Lloyd. First degree murder, not second? Wow, the prosecutors must believe they can prove that Odin Lloyd’s killing was planned and deliberate. Hernandez was charged with one count of first degree murder and also faces one charge of firearm possession without a license and two charges each of possession of a large capacity firearm and firearm possession without an ID card. Aaron Hernandez is being held without bail. From a brand new $40 million five year contract with the New England Patriots, to arrested, cut by the Patriots, and charged with murder … what a complete waste.
Aaron Hernandez has been charged with murdering his friend after the two had a dispute during a trip to a nightclub.
Hernandez was arrested Wednesday and charged with the first-degree murder of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a semipro football player whose body was found in an industrial park about a mile from the former New England Patriots tight end’s home.
More from USA Today and the first degree murder charges.
The criminal complaint against Hernandez, 23, states that “On 6/17/13, [he] did assault and beat Odin Lloyd with intent to murder such person, and by such assault and beating, did kill and murder such person.”
Bristol County first assistant attorney William McCauley presented his initial findings to Judge Daniel J. O’Shea, saying that Hernandez “orchestrated the execution” of Lloyd. At no point did McCauley claim that it was Hernandez himself who pulled the trigger.
Hernandez’s attorney Michael Fee called the prosecution’s argument “a circumstantial case, not a strong case.”
The charged atmosphere in the standing room only courtroom grew when McCauley began describing the alleged timeline of events in the early hours of June 17. McCauley described how Hernandez’s movements were pieced together with cell phone tower tracking, text messages and surveillance cameras.
Prosecutors allege that Hernandez picked up Lloyd around 2:30 a.m. on June 17th and that they drove through Boston before heading back to North Attleborough. McCauley claimed that Hernandez was unhappy that Lloyd had spoken with people that he didn’t like at Boston nightclub several nights earlier. The prosecutor alleges that several people heard multiple gun shots near an industrial park close to Hernandez’s home around 3:23 a.m. and says that home surveillance cameras captured Hernandez carrying a semiautomatic firearm as he and two other men returned to his home at 3:30 a.m.

More at CBS-Boston.
UPDATE I: 8:46am Aaron Hernandez was walked out of his house in handcuffs, placed in the back of a police car and taken away.
UPDATE II: From ESPN:
Interestingly enough, that Hernandez did not volunteer himself to police with his lawyers in a quiet, subdued manner but instead was arrested by the police at his home.
Hernandez, wearing a white V-neck T-shirt, long red athletic shorts and black sneakers, was led around 9 a.m. ET from the front door of his mansion with his hands in handcuffs behind his back inside the shirt and placed into a police cruiser, which quickly drove away.
He casually spit into some bushes on his way to the car.
UPDATE III: Will be arraigned in Attleborough District Court alter today.
Aaron Hernandez was arrested this morning and is scheduled to be arraigned in Attleboro District Court some time today, leading the New England Patriots to cut one-time star tight end from the team about two hours later.
Bristol District Attorney C. Samuel Sutter, in a statement, confirmed Hernandez’s arrest, but did not say what crime the professional football player is accused of committing.
UPDATE IV: Patriots did not wait to dismiss him from the team …
Hernandez will be arraigned later Wednesday, but the Patriots did not wait to dismiss him from the team.
“Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation,” the team said in a statement.
New England Pats Cut Aaron Hernandez. One might be innocent until proven guilty, but not with the New England Patriots. It looks like they have seen and heard enough,]. Shortly after Aaron Hernandez was arrested by police this morning at his home, the Patriots cut Hernandez and released him from the team.
The New England Patriots have released Hernandez following his arrest.
The team said in a statement: “A young man was murdered last week and we extend our sympathies to the family and friends who mourn his loss. Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation. We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do.”
Just my opinion, but with the actions by the New England Patriots this morning, it is highly likely that Aaron Hernandez is going to be charged with murder later today in court, not just obstruction of justice.

White House and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in talks with NFL on Promoting ObamaCare … Now the NFL is a Propaganda Shill for Obama?
A note to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell … DON’T DO IT, DON’T RUIN YOUR BRAND … SHUT UP AND PLAY FOOTBALL!
Is the NFL trying to lose viewership? According to a report from The Hill, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said that she was in talks with the NFL to help promote Obamacare. Can these people leave nothing alone that is an enjoyable diversion from the hell that has been the Obama administration? The NFL is a sport, not about politics. It is supposed to be about the great teams of the past like the 1960′s Green Bay Packers, the 1970′s Pittsburgh Steelers, the 1980′s San Francisco 49′ers, the 1990′s Dallas Cowboys and the 2000′s New England Patriots. Its about the who’s who of great players like Johnny Unitas, Walter Payton, Dick Butkis and Jim Brown who have laced up the cleats and put on the helmets that are enshrined in the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH. It is about legendary coaches like Paul Brown, Bill Walsh, Don Shula, George Halas, Tom Landry and Vince Lombardi. It is about the fans and their love of the game. The NFL is not about, nor should it ever be about Obamacare. Dear NFL, are you trying to piss off your fans, in being a tool of Barack Obama. Are you intentionally trying to ruin the sport? Obamacare is unraveling and the NFL looks to be a useful idiot in promoting a very unpopular lie to We the People. BRILLIANT!
Really NFL, this is the guy who you want to hitch your wagon to? A Prez who couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn with a football?
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Monday she is in talks with the NFL to help promote new insurance options under ObamaCare.
Sebelius said the football league has been “very actively and enthusiastically engaged” in discussions about a partnership to encourage people to enroll in newly available insurance plans.
“We’re having active discussions right now with a variety of sports affiliates” about both paid advertising and partnerships to encourage enrollment, Sebelius told reporters.
It is simply amazing that a sport that has passed baseball for America’s favorite past time would ruin its image with its fans over something as unpopular as Obamacare. As stated at Professor Bainbridge, “Memo to Roger Goodell: I’ll take my NFL football without Obamacare propaganda.” Obamacare is unpopular not because people do not know or understand what’s in it, Americans are upset with Obamacare because they are learning every day what lies were told to them by Barack Obama and his minion Democrats with regards to the government take over of healthcare. There is a reason why Obamacare continues to be unpopular with more than half of America. It’s not because of a lack of marketing. After all this time, Obama still has not been able to sell the failure called Obamacare, go figure.
I have to agree 100% with Weasel Zippers sentiments, do they have to ruin everything for us?
Isn’t it quite ironic that the NFL would even think of engaging in talks to promote this boondoggle known as Obamacare, the very league who was AWOL on concussions and providing proper healthcare for its former past great players? Keep it up NFL, Obamacare is extremely unpopular. According to a recent new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, just 37 percent say the plan is a good idea.
The Obama WH is also targeting the NBA. The Daily Caller has a chart that shows what the highest paid NBA players would pay with the Obamacare tax.

French Open Men’s Single Final Between Nadal and Against Ferrer Interrupted By Protester With A Flare
FIREWORKS AT THE FRENCH OPEN BUT IT WAS NOT BETWEEN NADAL AND FERRER … The only drama in today’s Men’s Singles French Open Final between Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer were the protestors. First, the protestors interrupted the match, then a protestor who ran onto the court near Nadal with a flare that was on fire and smoking. The protester was eventually taken off the court and tackled as well as a second protester was forcibly escorted out of the event as well. Other than that, the final was an eventless 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 Nadal victory who won his 8th French Open title. I have to say this, how on earth in this day and age, in a post 9/11 world, in a post Monica Seles stabbing by a fan (video) could security in such a huge event like the French Open Final be so lax to allow a protester with an incendiary device into the stadium? Imagine if it was a terrorist with more evil intentions that just protesting legislation in France allowing for same-sex marriages? Good Grief. Never would I have thought that some one could get a flare through security. The French might want to beef up security for the next time. I could only imagine how this will effect going through security in the up coming Wimbledon Championships.
The French Open final was interrupted today when a protester managed to find his on the court and light a flare, just feet from where Rafael Nadal was standing. It was the second time the match had been interrupted by protesters as there was a brief ruckus in the upper deck. Several protesters were quickly ushered out of the stadium. The protesters are upset about legislation in France allowing for same-sex marriages according to CBSNews.com.
Pittsburgh Steelers’ OT Mike Adams Stabbed During Robbery Attempt of his Truck at his Home … Expected to Make Full Recovery
NFL.com is reporting that Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive tackle, Mike Adams, has been stabbed during an attempted robbery of his truck at his home. Adams was stabbed after confronting three assailants who allegedly tried to steal his truck. According to reports, Adams was stabbed in the stomach; however, is expected to make a full recovery. According to the Steelers, the second year tackle, who was the team’s rookie of the year in 2012, was recovering but remained hospitalized. As reported at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, one of the robbers dropped a cell phone, which police had recovered.
NFL.com’s Aditi Kinkhabwala spoke with Adams’ agent, Eric Metz, who said three assailants allegedly tried to steal Mike Adams’ truck from in front of his home. Metz said Adams told him he gave chase even after being stabbed. Adams had just left some friends a few minutes before and was alone.
No vital organs were affected, but the stomach injury did necessitate surgery. Adams will be sidelined six to eight weeks, but Metz says Adams definitely will be ready for training camp.
Pittsburgh police did not immediately respond to a request for more information by NFL.com. Metz said told the Post-Gazette that one of the robbers dropped a cell phone, which police had recovered. UPMC Mercy, where Adams was reportedly treated, would not comment on his status.
Mike Adams posted this on his Twitter account at 11:28 AM: ”I have an angel lookin’ out for me! I’ll be ok. Just gotta fight to get back harder than ever.”
