“The Ballad for Trayvon Martin” Opens at Princeton University

No one will ever mistake ‘The Ballad for Trayvon Martin’ with the ‘Ballad of Davey Crockett.’

Princeton University Orchestra, conducted by Michael Pratt, and the University Concert Jazz Ensemble will play the ‘Ballad for Trayvon Martin’ Thursday and Friday. Hmm, the purpose of this is to exploit pay homage to victims of racial violence. You mean like the “killing fields” in Chicago?

Trayvon Martin continues to be a subject of intense interest for the academic elite. The Princeton University Orchestra and the University Concert Jazz Ensemble is set to debut “The Ballad for Trayvon Martin” today, NJ.com reports.

The goal of the music, according to its composer, noted jazz artist Anthony D.J. Branker, is to pay homage to victims of racial violence.

“I simply want to make a connection,” Branker said, “whether it’s on a level of social consciousness, or music and expression.”

The Daily Caller reports:

The director of the jazz studies program at Princeton University has written a ballad for Trayvon Martin.

If you happen to be in the area, you can catch the world premiere of “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” Thursday and Friday night at Richardson Auditorium on the Ivy League campus.

Tickets are just $15 (and $5 for students), reports The Star-Ledger.

The composer, Anthony D.J. Branker, said he was moved “to the core” by the death of Martin in February 2012.

Martin, a 17-year-old black teenager, was shot by George Zimmerman, a 28-year-old mixed-race Hispanic, in Sanford, Fla.

Branker, who founded Princeton’s jazz program 25 years ago, said the incident reminded him of an incident in his own life that occurred right after he graduated from the elite school.

“I was stopped by police at gunpoint because it was believed I broke into someone’s home,” he told The Star-Ledger. “I fit a profile. Police surrounded my car.”

Branker said the piece isn’t an angry musical screed. Noting that it incorporates a fugue and Brazilian style, he describes the jazz number as “a form of healing and something that could be seen as a composition of hope.”

Dinesh D’Souza Tweets about Obama: “I Am Thankful This Week When I Remember That America Is Big Enough and Great Enough to Survive Grown-Up Trayvon In the White House!”

Just days before Thanksgiving Dinesh D’Souza tweets what he is thankful for and goes there …

Dinesh D’Souza tweeted, “that I am thankful this week when I remember that America is big enough and great enough to survive Grown-Up Trayvon in the White House!”  Oh boy, you know this is going to evoke a complete unhinged response from the LEFT. They will be calling him a vile racists and a “WHITE” Indian.  In 2012, D’Souza released ’2016: Obama’s America,’ a film based on his 2010 book ‘The Roots of Obama’s Rage’. Hmm, doesn’t D’Souza understand that only Obama can compare himself to Trayvon, if anybody else does they are race-baiting, racist swine.

And the LEFT did not disappoint as the social media on the LEFT went mental.

Supposedly, the tweet has since been deleted from D’Souza’s Twitter account.

Hmm, a grown-up Trayvon Martin in the White House. Having covered the George Zimmerman – Trayvon Martin murder trial and the events that led up to the case including the death and three-ring media circus, hell-bent on getting a pound of racist flesh from “white” Hispanic, George Zimmerman,” and having covered this disastrous presidency of Barack Obama, there are many things to be thankful for, I am not sure if I would have worded it quite as Dinesh D’Souza did. Although to be fair to him, it was Barack Obama who interjected himself into the Zimmerman-Martin case before he knew any of the facts of the case. But when did facts or the truth ever get in the way of Barack Obama? It was actually Obama who first made the comparisons to Trayvon, but playing the race card is perfectly okay. It was Barack Obama who said, “Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago,” after he could not accept the jury verdict that found George Zimmerman “not guilty” in the murder of Trayvon.

However, what should have been said was the following … “I AM THANKFUL THIS WEEK WHEN I REMEMBER THAT AMERICA IS BIG ENOUGH AND GREAT ENOUGH TO SURVIVE BARACK OBAMA IN THE WHITE HOUSE”.

America better hope it is big enough and great enough to do so because Obama has caused such great division, dissension and desperation among the people. Obama has devastated the economy and the will of people. Obama has spent us into oblivion at $17 trillion and counting. And if allowed Obama is going to destroy the insurance industry as we know it and in turn further wreck the US economy forever. Let this be a lesson to America, do not ever, ever, ever elect a socialist community agitator president, I could care whether he looked like George Zimmerman, Trayvon Martin or Steve Martin.

George Zimmerman Posts $9,000 Bail in Domestic Violence Case, Judge Says He Can’t Have Guns

Another alleged crime, another judge and another judge for George Zimmerman …

George Zimmerman posts bail in his domestic violance case and is told by judge that the conditions of his bail are as follows: that he cannot go to two Florida addresses; he cannot have contact with the accuser, Samantha Scheibe; he cannot possess weapons; he must wear a monitoring device; and he cannot travel outside Florida.

CNN:

A Florida judge on Tuesday set bail for George Zimmerman at $9,000 and ordered a number of conditions for his freedom — including that he not possess weapons — while he awaits trial on charges he pointed a shotgun at his girlfriend.

He was released from the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on Tuesday afternoon. He didn’t speak with the media. It was unclear where he was headed.

Zimmerman was arrested Monday at his girlfriend’s Apopka home, four months after he was acquitted of murdering teenager Trayvon Martin.

Earlier, Zimmerman said little as a judge, during Zimmerman’s first appearance Tuesday afternoon in Seminole County court, said he found probable cause for Zimmerman’s arrest on a felony charge of aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of domestic violence battery and criminal mischief. Zimmerman’s arraignment has been scheduled for January 7.
