On Tuesday, David Ferriero, the top United States archivist of federal records, told the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that the IRS broke the law when it failed to report loss of emails. David S. Ferriero, the chief archivist at the National Archives said, “In accordance with the Federal Records Act, when an agency becomes aware of an incident of unauthorized destruction, they must report the incident to us.” Ferriero told the House Oversight Committee that federal agencies are supposed to report whenever their records are destroyed or even accidentally deleted; however, he stated that nobody told the National Archives after emails from IRS official Lois Lerner vanished after a computer failure in 2011. Imagine that? How about the six others whose computers miraculously crashed as well? Were they reported?
The top U.S. official in charge of archiving federal records testified Tuesday that the IRS ran afoul of the law by neglecting to tell his office that a trove of emails from the woman at the center of the targeting scandal disappeared after an apparent hard drive crash.
Archivist of the U.S. David Ferriero, speaking before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, made clear that federal agencies are supposed to report whenever their records are destroyed or even accidentally deleted. But he said that after emails from embattled IRS official Lois Lerner vanished after a computer failure in 2011, nobody told the National Archives.
“They did not follow the law,” Ferriero said.

Last night during his testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, IRS Chief John Koskinen said he could not remember who told him that Lois Lerner’s emails were lost. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) grilled Koskinen during his testimony as to when and who told him that the emails were lost. The IRS Commissioner actually blamed tax season as to the reason why he could not remember. UNREAL. Rep. Jordan: Did someone tell you in person? Did they send you an email?
Koskinen: I do not get emails on these subjects so I’m sure it was someone in person.
Jordan: This has been a major news story for the past 13 months and you don’t remember who came up to you and said, ‘Hey boss, we lost Lois Lerner’s emails”? You don’t remember anything about that situation?
Koskinen: I remember being told in April … I do not recall who told me.

Republicans on a House of Representatives committee took Internal Revenue Commissioner John Koskinen to task on Monday night for his agency’s loss of emails from an IRS official involved in scrutinizing tax exemption requests from political groups.
Champaign County Republican Rep. Jim Jordan – who chairs a House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee – compared the loss of Lois Lerner’s emails to evidence hiding efforts in a “third-rate B actor crime drama.”
“This would be laughable if it wasn’t so serious,” said Jordan, who asked Koskinen to seek a special prosecutor’s investigation of whether the IRS improperly scrutinized tax-exemption requests from conservative groups.
Jordan questioned whether Koskinen obstructed justice by waiting several weeks to tell Congress about the lost emails rather than revealing it when he first learned of it in April. Koskinen said IRS tried to recover all the emails it could from Lerner’s crashed hard drive, but couldn’t get them all.

NBC/WSJ Poll: American Public Grown Dissatisfied with President Obama Foreign Policy and National Security Decisions … 37% Approval on Foreign Policy
Obama Administration falling apart …
According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, just 37 percent approve of his handling of foreign policy, which is an all-time low in the survey, while 57 percent disapprove, an all-time high. In the video below, NBC’s Chuck Todd shreds Obama and his poor poll numbers. This poll is nothing short of a disaster for Obama … When asked their predictions on the rest of Obama’s term in office, 54% said they thought he “cannot lead and get the job done,” compared with only 42% who said the opposite.
- Job approval: 41% approve – 53% disapprove
- Handling economy: 41% approve – 54% disapprove
- Country headed in right or wrong direction: 25% right direction – 63% wrong direction
- Foreign policy: 37% approve – 57% disapprove
“This is a bad poll for President Obama, and not a good poll for anybody else,” said Republican pollster Bill McInturff, who conducted the survey with Democrats Peter Hart and Fred Yang.
“Whether it’s [Vladimir] Putin, Ukraine, the VA hospitals, Bowe Bergdahl, the events have controlled Obama, rather than Obama having controlled the events,” Hart adds. “He may be winning the issues debate, but he’s losing the political debate, because they don’t see him as a leader.”
But it shows an American public that has grown dissatisfied with President Obama on foreign policy and national security decisions.
Just 37 percent approve of his handling of foreign policy, which is an all-time low in the survey, while 57 percent disapprove, an all-time high.
What’s more, by a 44 percent-to-30 percent margin, Americans disagree with the Obama administration’s decision to secure the release of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for five imprisoned Taliban fighters.

WOW, Just WOW … Dave Brat Defeats Incumbent Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in Virginia GOP Primary, 55.5% – 44.5%

Establishment Republicans were rocked this evening when US Rep. Eric Cantor, the Republican House Majority Leader lost to virtual unknown Dave Brat. To borrow a line from Al Michaels from the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, NY was the USA defeated the Soviet Union, “Do you believe in Miracles … YES!!! It was thought by many in the establishment that Cantor was the next in line for the Speakership; however, “We the People” had other ideas. So much for the notion that money wins these elections, Brat trailed Cantor in fundraising, pulling in $200,000 this cycle compared to Cantor’s $2 million.
In an upset for the ages, Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia, the second-most powerful man in the House, was dethroned Tuesday by a little-known, tea party-backed Republican primary challenger carried to victory on a wave of public anger over calls for looser immigration laws.
“”This is a miracle from God that just happened,” exulted David Brat, a political science professor, as his victory became clear in the congressional district around Virginia capital city.
Speaking to downcast supporters, Cantor conceded, “Obviously we came up short” in a bid for renomination to an eighth term.
The victory was by far the biggest of the 2014 campaign season for tea party forces, although last week they forced veteran Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran into a June 24 runoff, and hope State Sen. Chris McDaniel can prevail then.
So much for Eric Cantor’s internal polling that showed him ahead of David Brat by 34 points. Oops, missed it by that much.
The poll, shared with Post Politics, shows Cantor with a 62 percent to 28 percent lead over Brat, an economics professor running to Cantor’s right. Eleven percent say they are undecided.
The internal survey of 400 likely Republican primary voters was conducted May 27 and 28 by John McLaughlin of McLaughlin & Associates. It carries a margin of error of +/-4.9 percentage points.
Cantor conceded the race around 8:25 p.m. — shortly after the Associated Press pronounced Cantor’s 13-year political career at least temporarily over. With nearly 98 percent of precincts reporting, Brat had 55 percent of the vote, while Cantor had 44 percent. People close to Cantor said internal polls showed him hovering near 60 percent in the runup to the race.
It’s one of the most stunning losses in modern House politics, and completely upends the GOP hierarchy in both Virginia and Washington. Cantor enjoyed a meteoric rise that took him from chief deputy whip, to minority whip to majority leader in the span of 13 years.
Cantor was seen by many as the next speaker of the House, biding his time until Ohio Rep. John Boehner wanted to retire.

Over the weekend in her opening monologue Judge Jeanine Pirro blasted President Barack Obama for the release of the GITMO 5, the five high ranking Taliban terrorists, in exchange for deserter Bowe Bergdahl. But this may have just been the final straw of many scandals and reprehensible acts against the military that question whether Obama is a real Commander in Chief.
Pirro went on to shred Obama in saying the following: “And make like you respect the military. You call yourself a Commander in Chief, but what Commander in Chief does not support a surge but sends in 40,000 troops anyways? What Commander in Chief reduced benefits to those in the military, closed the Veteran War Memorial, reduced the army to pre-WWII levels, knowingly allows veterans to die in our hospitals. While replenishing the enemy in a time of war. Mr. President, you are destroying this country.”
Jeanine Pirro concluded with, “You are not a true Commander in Chief. We impeached a President for lying about sex with an intern. Your actions are far more egregious. demand impeachment.”
