CNN’s State of the Union with Candy Crowley: Sen. Feinstein (D-CA) & Rep. Rogers (R-MI) Both Say America Is Less Safe From Terrorism Today Than It Has Been in Recent Years … What Happened to Obama’s Claim “Al-Qaeda is on the run”
Looks like Americans were told another lie, I thought President Barack Hussein Obama told us that Al-Qaeda was on the run and on the road to defeat?
This Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union with Candy Crowley, Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA), chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI), chair of the House Intelligence Committee, were in complete bipartisan agreement that the United States is less safe from terrorism today than it has been in recent years. Remember when Barack Obama ran on the reelection sound byte that “Al-Qaeda was on the run and on the path to defeat”. Hmm, too bad this president is all about campaigning to win an election and not about leading to defend America against its enemies.
Americans shouldn’t feel safer today than they did before the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the leaders of the Senate and House intelligence committees said Sunday.
The country now faces a larger number of threats from splintered terrorist groups and more complex weapons than when the U.S. began combat operations in Afghanistan in 2001, the lawmakers said on CNN’s State of the Union. At the same time, the nation’s spy programs–which can help foil terrorist plots–are under heavy scrutiny that could ultimately lessen their effectiveness.
“The threat is higher today and we’re probably less safe,” Rep. Mike Rogers (R., Mich.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said.
His counterpart in the Senate agreed.
“I think terror is up world-wide,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.). “There are new bombs, very big bombs…and more groups than ever.”
Sen. Feinstein said advanced weapons make it easier to bring a bomb onto an airplane and make it harder to track possible threats.
Full State of the Union transcript:
CROWLEY: The big question that’s always asked, are we safer now than we were a year ago, two years ago? In general?
FEINSTEIN: I don’t think so. I think terror is up worldwide, the statistics indicate that, the fatalities are way up. The numbers are way up. There are new bombs, very big bombs, trucks being reinforced for those bombs. There are bombs that go through magnatometers. The bomb maker is still alive. There are more groups that ever and there’s huge malevolence out there.
CROWLEY: So congressman, I have to say, that is not the answer I expected. I expected to hear, oh, we’re safer. Do you agree?
ROGERS: Oh, I absolutely agree that we’re not safer today for the same very reasons.
So the pressure on our intelligence services to get it right to prevent an attack are enormous. And it’s getting more difficult because we see the al Qaeda as we knew it before is metastasizing to something different, more affiliates than we’ve ever had before, meaning more groups that operated independently of al Qaeda have now joined al Qaeda around the world, all of them have at least some aspiration to commit an act of violence in the United States or against western targets all around the world.
They’ve now switched to this notion that maybe smaller events are okay. So if you have more smaller events than bigger events, they think that might still lead to their objectives and their goals. That makes it exponentially harder for our intelligence services to stop an event like that.
CROWLEY: Because essentially one person can do a small event.
ROGERS: Absolutely.
CROWLEY: So, one of the things that the senator said was that there is more hatred out there, more – and why is that? (read more HERE)
How’s that post Iraq looking these days? How’s that claim of the defeat of terrorism looking today? How’s that talking with the Taliban in Afghanistan, the very enemy we looked to defeat, for a troop withdrawal looking these days? How is Libya looking? How about Syria? This is what happens when you put a community agitator, presidential novice in the White House.
AP-GfK Poll: What a Sad Commentary of Today’s Society, Two-Thirds Say People Can’t Be Trusted … #You Lie
When did “Trust” become a 4-letter word … Who will be the role models?
As the AP article says, ‘In God we trust, maybe, but not each other’. How sad. What a sad commentary on where our society has gone where Americans don’t trust each other anymore. It is one thing to have blind trust and rose colored glasses, it is quite another to have trust be remain skeptical and always question. However, the trust trends, or lack thereof have rose dramatically in the last 40 years. I think it is no surprise that it would be based on the Watergate years. But what has changed in that respect where people would think at the very least that their President could set the image of trust. But that is certainly not the case today as Americans found out that Barack Obama was lying when he told “We the People” that if you liked your healthcare plan, you could keep your healthcare plan, PERIOD! That coupled with all to many scandals like IRS-gate, AP-gate, Fast & Furious, Benghazi-gate, NSA-gate, Rosen-gate, etc. How could people really trust when they see all of these lies going on around them?
But it is larger than just politics. We need something to reverse the trend so that individuals want to trust others.
These days, only one-third of Americans say most people can be trusted. Half felt that way in 1972, when the General Social Survey first asked the question.
Forty years later, a record high of nearly two-thirds say “you can’t be too careful” in dealing with people.
An AP-GfK poll conducted last month found that Americans are suspicious of each other in everyday encounters. Less than one-third expressed a lot of trust in clerks who swipe their credit cards, drivers on the road, or people they meet when traveling.
“I’m leery of everybody,” said Bart Murawski, 27, of Albany, N.Y. “Caution is always a factor.”
Does it matter that Americans are suspicious of one another? Yes, say worried political and social scientists.
What’s known as “social trust” brings good things.
A society where it’s easier to compromise or make a deal. Where people are willing to work with those who are different from them for the common good. Where trust appears to promote economic growth.
Trust has to be earned, it does not grow on trees. And once trust is broken, it takes years, sometimes forever to repair. So, is it too late to reverse this trend? Some say that it is. Is it possible to go back to a simpler time and instill not only trust, but values in people to act accordingly? The question really is, who will step up and play the adult to make “TRUST” a valued principle?
In fact, some studies suggest it’s too late for most Americans alive today to become more trusting. That research says the basis for a person’s lifetime trust levels is set by his or her mid-twenties and unlikely to change, other than in some unifying crucible such as a world war.
People do get a little more trusting as they age. But beginning with the baby boomers, each generation has started off adulthood less trusting than those who came before them.
The best hope for creating a more trusting nation may be figuring out how to inspire today’s youth, perhaps united by their high-tech gadgets, to trust the way previous generations did in simpler times.
There are still trusters around to set an example.

Obama Administration Delays Online Enrollment For Small Businesses In Obamacare By 1 Year
Another day and another Obamacare delay …
If this train wreck was an injured animal we would have to do the humane thing and put it out of its misery. The Obamacare debacle continues, Obama administration announces that online enrollment for small businesses in Obamacare will be delayed by a year. Of course they did it in a Thanksgiving Day eve news dump so to lessen the media coverage and hoping Americans will be too busy eating turkey, mashed potatoes and shopping on Black Friday.
Of course this was another convenient delay until after the 2014 midterm elections. What galls me to no end is that uninsured, unaffordable healthcare is a real problem in America that needed to be addressed and Obama simply has made it a political game.
Yup, just one more year delay in online small business enrollment, that will fix it.
The Obama administration today announced a one year delay of online enrollment for small businesses looking to purchase health coverage through federal Obamacare exchanges, another high-profile setback for HealthCare.gov.
It’s the second delay for online small business enrollment, which the administration had said would begin this month.
The White House is trying to get the troubled enrollment website on track for individuals and families seeking coverage, which is a higher priority. It set this Saturday, Nov. 30, as a target date for getting HealthCare.gov working for the “vast majority” of users.
The delay of the small business exchanges comes as little surprise, as the administration had said earlier this week it would offer alternative ways for small businesses to enroll. Still, it undercuts the White House message that it’s beginning to turn around the disastrous rollout of the health care law.
As Jammie Wearing Fool opines, now the libs have even more Obamacare talking points for the Thanksgiving Day dinner table, more Obamacare delays.

Hmm … Mark Halperin Says Obamacare Contains “Death Panels” … Where Have We Heard that Before, Sarah Palin? (VIDEO)
AMERICANS LIED TO AGAIN BY BARACK OBAMA ON DEATH PANELS …
Mark Halperin says the following on “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV, “It’s built into the plan. It’s not like a guess or like a judgment. That’s going to be part of how costs are controlled”.
More at TPM, one of the Beltway’s best-known pundits gave credence this week to perhaps the fringiest of all Obamacare conspiracy theories … death panels. But is it really a conspiracy theory? Didn’t Barack Obama also tell us that if you liked your healthcare plan, you could keep your healthcare plan, PERIOD! Didn’t Obama tell us we could keep our doctor and hospital as well? Didn’t Obama promise us that premiums would go down? ALL WERE LIES THAT OBAMA KNEW WERE LIES!!! So what would make anyone think now that the “death” panels, i.e. end of life healthcare rationing were not true as well? Barack Obama hardly has a track record of telling the truth. What was Obama and his minions going to do in getting this bogus law passed and prior to the 2012 presidential, tell the truth that bureaucrats would kill off grandma as they waged a war on the GOP that Republicans wanted to push her off the cliff? Hardly. Obamacare was passed on the intentional deceit of the White House and all that dare get in its way are say anything bad were attacked. How’s that “Hopey-Changey” death panels working out for you America?
“We do need to do some of that in this country, because we can’t afford to spend so much on end-of-life care. A very high percentage of our healthcare spending is for a very small number of people at the last stages of their life,” he said Monday.
“I’m not saying the system shouldn’t allow that, but there’s too much cost. There’re judgments have to be made.”

Partial Transcript from Real Clear Politics:
MALZBERG, HOST: A lot of people said you weren’t going to be able to keep your health care, but also they focused on the death panels, which will be coming, call them what you will, rationing, is part of it…
HALPERIN: No, I agree, and that’s going to be a huge issue, and that’s something else on which the president was not fully forthcoming and straightforward.
MALZBERG: So, you believe there will be rationing, a.k.a. death panels?
HALPERIN: It’s built into the plan. It’s not like a guess or like a judgment. That’s going to be part of how costs are controlled.
Remember when Sarah Palin said there were death panels in Obamacare 4 years ago and was vilified? Now suddenly Democrats are admitting that Sarah Palin was right. Oh how that must pain liberals and Democrats. Suddenly 22 Dems and counting are agreeing with Sarahcuda. Think about that America, the woman that Democrats love to hate was right on “DEATH PANELS”. Just curious, is ‘Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS), covered under Obamacare?
Almost 80 Million with Employer Health Care Plans Could Have Coverage Canceled … It was Clear Officials Knew the Impact of ObamaCare 3 Years Ago
This is important to be repeated over and over and over, because Barack Obama and Democrats knew it and they went forward and lied to America anyhow …
The current 5+ million Americans who have lost their insurance thanks to Obamacare is a mere pittance compared to what is expected when employers are mandated to cover employees with the rules of the not-so-affordable health care law. Experts are saying that 80 millions Americans could lose their employer healthcare plans and worse yet, Obama and Democrats were 100% aware of the carnage.
CBS News finally reporting the truth or should we say the lies of Obama and Obamacare
Almost 80 million people with employer health plans could find their coverage canceled because they are not compliant with ObamaCare, several experts predicted.
Their losses would be in addition to the millions who found their individual coverage cancelled for the same reason.
Stan Veuger of the American Enterprise Institute said that in addition to the individual cancellations, “at least half the people on employer plans would by 2014 start losing plans as well.” There are approximately 157 million employer health care policy holders.
Avik Roy of the Manhattan Institute added, “the administration estimated that approximately 78 million Americans with employer sponsored insurance would lose their existing coverage due to the Affordable Care Act.”
Last week, an analysis by the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank, showed the administration anticipates half to two-thirds of small businesses would have policies canceled or be compelled to send workers onto the ObamaCare exchanges. They predicted up to 100 million small and large business policies could be canceled next year.
According to projections the administration itself issued back in July 2010, it was clear officials knew the impact of ObamaCare three years ago.
In fact, according to the Federal Register, its mid-range estimate was that by the end of 2014, 76 percent of small group plans would be cancelled, along with 55 percent of large employer plans.
The reason behind the losses is that current plans don’t meet the requirements of ObamaCare, which dictate that each plan must cover a list of essential benefits, whether people want them or not.
