GMA: Paul van der Sloot, “Joran Van Der Sloot Not the Same Boy”
This morning in an event-less and some what over-hyped Good Morning America interview with Paulus and Anita Van der Sloot, Paul van der Sloot made the following comment, “Joran Van Der Sloot Not the Same Boy.” Guess what Paul? Neither is Natalee Holloway!!! No where is this first part of the interview did the Van der Sloot’s ever deny Natalee Holloway was dead.
The Van der Sloots talk about their son not being the same? Do they ever think that maybe he brought this on himself?
But the parents of one of the prime suspects in Holloway’s disappearance say the investigation has also devastated their son.
“I think Joran is not anymore the same boy,” Paul van der Sloot said in his first interview since his son was released from prison.
In what has to be one of the most insulting and eye opening comments come when the Van der Sloots’ comment regarding raising Joran to trust people. Anita, did you ever bother to tell Joran about the honesty and telling the truth? To be trusted, one must first be trustworthy.
“We tried to raise our kids in a way that they are able to trust people, and I think a lot of trust is gone,” Anita van der Sloot said.
This isn’t about whether Joran can trust anyone, Joran is not the victim. This is a matter whether anyone can trust your son or any comment that comes out of his mouth. First, he lies to his parents and sneaks out of the house to join his friends at Carlos & Charlie’s. One wonders why he would do such a thing? If we are to believe Joran’s past interviews and that many pictures we have seen on the internet, Joran has no problem attracting girls. So what was so important about this night? Are we supposed to believe that this was the first time that Joran ever snuck out of his parent’s house? How would they know? According to the many late night visits by Joran Van der Sloot to the casinos, why would his parents even care?
On the night that Holloway disappeared, Paul van der Sloot drove his son home from McDonalds. Without his parents’ knowledge, Joran van der Sloot later snuck out of the house with two friends and went to a local bar where they met Holloway. She has not been seen since leaving the bar with the Kalpoes and van der Sloot on May 30.
Then Joran Van der Sloot lies again as to where he drops Natalee Holloway off that night. Leaving Natalee at the Holiday Inn suddenly becomes leaving her at the beach. What happened to the part where they took Natalee Holloway back to Joran Van der Sloot’s home? Then is becomes consensual sex.

Amigoe: Paul van der Sloot claims damages
Amigoe; February 2, 2006: Paul van der Sloot claims damages
Weren’t there others that were wrongfully arrested in part due to statements and comments given by those that would benefit from Paul Van der Sloot’s claim? Many wonder what ever became of the two security guards and why they are still considered suspects. Interesting how Paulus gets his claims heard but why is it not the same for the first individuals that were arrested in the Natalee Holloway disappearance?
ARUBA — Paul van der Sloot claims damages from the National Government of Aruba, because he was wrongfully arrested and detained in the Holloway-case. The case was handled behind closed doors by the court sitting in chambers last Monday. The judge will continue the case at the end of this month.

Amigoe: Paul van der Sloot becomes lawyer
ARUBA — Paul van der Sloot, the father of Joran van der Sloot has joined the lawyers’ firm of Anthony Carlo and Richie Kock. Paul Van der Sloot and Family to Sue Aruban Government For Damages in Natalee Holloway case
If Arubans, Aruban officials, or those assigned the task of figuring out or preventing a boycott from taking away from the already declining tourism numbers in Aruba want to understand why it is occurring? You all need to look no further than the following events taking place today in Aruba as described in the Amigoe and Bon Dia articles, “The Vand der Sloot family suing for damages”.
Individual have a sense as to what they consider right and wrong. No politician has to tell them this, they are able to make up their own mind. Thus the reason why although a boycott backed by a politician is nice, but not necessary. The idea that Paul Van der Sloot is suing for damages after spending a couple days in jail and having taken part in discussing with the three prime suspects how to potentially cover each other’s stories let alone coach the three suspects is beyond imagination to many. The idea that two black security guards who were initially arrested and spent more time in jail than did Paulus due much in fact because Paulus’ son Joran Van der Sloot lied to police have yet to be considered “not suspects” is beyond the pale. What is probably the most insulting is how exactly can a suspect in an unsolved crime be a party to sue for damages?
“… the Court of Appeals ruled in favour of the Van der Sloot family members that also the damages suffered by the family members, including Joran qualify for compensation.”
The idea that a suspect in an ongoing investigation to what the Prosecution has said, “… young lady in question has lost her life as a consequence of a punishable crime committed against her.
The idea that a suspect in an ongoing crime investigation let alone individuals who may have knowledge of what that suspect said or did is able to not only have their day in court but sue for damages while the rest of the investigation has been handled the way it has and the past court decisions made only make many American question everything about Aruba.
An American family has lost a daughter and somehow a suspect who has lied to police repeatedly that even resulted in others being falsely imprisoned and is still a suspect in a criminal investigation is somehow under Aruban law allowed to be compensated for damages?
And people wonder why Americans do not want to visit Aruba? Surely you cannot be serious?
Amigoe; January 12, 2006: The Van der Sloot family can claim damages
ARUBA — Paul as well as his family members can claim damages due to the arrest of Van der Sloot in connection with the investigation on the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
The Common Court of the Neth.Antilles and Aruba decided this yesterday in the appeal case that was instituted by the family members of Van der Sloot. The actual damage claim case serves this Friday. In November, the judge in the court of first instance ruled that only the damages suffered by Paul van der Sloot himself can be considered for compensation. However, the Court of Appeals ruled in favour of the Van der Sloot family members that also the damages suffered by the family members, including Joran qualify for compensation. The Court decided that not only the suspects, but everybody that suffered a loss can claim compensation, including his family members.
