Obama Stimulus … Part of $11M Stimulus Grant for Detroit Low Income Job Seekers Helped Just Two Individuals

Barack Obama’s stimulus plan is brought to you today by the #2 …

More from the files of the failed Barack Obama $787 billion stimulus … $11 million grant was supposed to help 400 low income job seekers in Detroit, MI ... the end result, it helped just 2 people. Isn’t this just a perfect example and a microcosm of the failed Obama stimulus and wasted tax payer dollars?

Part of an $11 million grant intended to provide business attire to 400 low-income job-seekers instead helped only two people, an audit of the city’s Department of Human Services has found.

The audit, conducted by the city’s auditor general for the period from July 2009 to September 2011, found the department failed to control the operations and finances of a boutique that was to provide the clothes.

The department did not safeguard grant funds or create an inventory for the clothing, the audit found.

Among the most telling findings, which will be discussed today during a City Council committee meeting, is that a third-party contractor advanced $148,000 to a downtown Detroit clothing store and opened an account, but did not include the city on the account.

As we are reminded at Michelle Malkin, Obama but VP Joe Biden in control of being responsible of implementing the Obama stimulus. Great job Joe!

“You guys know that when the president gave me the responsibility of dealing with and implementing this recovery act, he called me Sheriff Joe. Well, I’ve still got my badge on.” – Joe Biden, April 6, 2010.

And to make matters worse, if possible, as pointed out by the Ace of Spades who made up this plan? Forget the fact that only two people were helped, if 400 had been as initially thought that would have been $27,500 per person. Who dreamed this up and worse, who said, great idea … give them money, that’s money well spent!

This is what happens when government spends other people’s money. What a waste. There best be a GOP ad being developed this very second putting all of the wasted stimulus projects in a politcal ad reminding America just how much of a colossal waste it was and that they will be paying for this Obama gaffe for generations to come. Remember that in the 2012 election.

Gallup Says Unemployment Rate Will Tick Upwards for February to 8.6% … Economy Getting Better?

Gallup survey indicates that unemployment will rise to 8.6% adjusted, 9.1% without seasonal adjustment.  This would hardly indicate a jobs/economy improving even though Barack Obama, his minions and the MSM will spin it as so.

Gallup finds U.S. unemployment, as measured without seasonal adjustment, to be 9.1% in February, based on almost 30,000 interviews with a random sample of Americans. When Gallup applies the 0.5-percentage-point seasonal adjustment that the government applied to its unadjusted data for February last year, it produces an adjusted unemployment rate for February 2012 of 8.6% — a substantial increase from the 8.3% adjusted rate the government reported for January.

A the American Thinker reminds us, with so many Americans discouraged about finding work that the BLS isn’t even counting,  once those people start to filter back into the job market, the rate of unemployment is bound to rise.  This is going to occur right in the midst of a Presidential election, where it will look fool-hearty for Obama to claim credit for an improving economy when so many millions of Americans are out of work.

Another Obama Touted Green Energy Company Lays off Workers, Abound Solar Received $70 Million and Lays Off 280 Employees

YET ANOTHER FAILED GREEN ENERGY COMPANY COURTESY OF BARACK OBAMA ... Its is becoming an all to common occurrence. Welcome to another Barack Obama highly touted green energy company that received government stimulus money lays off workers.

Add Abound Solar to the long list of Obama highly touted green energy companies that received federal dollars that is now laying people off. The company will be laying off 280 employees.  Abound Solar won the $400 million loan guarantee from the Obama administration in December 2010 to expand a Longmont, CO, solar manufacturing facility and to build a new factory in Tipton, IN.

U.S. solar-power firm Abound Solar said Wednesday it will stop making solar panels while it retools a Colorado factory as part of a project backed by $400 million in federal loan guarantees.

The company has laid off 280 employees and delayed plans to open a new factory in Indiana that was also part of the government-backed deal.

The announcement was the latest sign of trouble for a manufacturing company backed by the Department of Energy’s loan guarantee program, which has already lost more than $500 million on loans to failed California solar panel maker Solyndra LLC.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu said Tuesday he felt the department would have more than enough reserves to cover future losses on the loan program. So far, Abound has drawn down about $70 million of taxpayer-guaranteed funds.

Yes, this is the same Energy Department Secretary Chu who has no issue with escalating gas prices so that the Obama administration can force people onto failed green energy.

USA Today/Gallup Poll: A Majority of Americans Say Obama’s Presidency Has Been a Failure and Far Too Liberal

From USA Today comes a USA Today/Gallup poll that shows that a majority of Americans believe that Barack Obama’s Presidency has been a failure and that he is too liberal. America, if you think he is too liberal now, imagine what Obama will be like if he wins a second term and has nothing like reelection to stand in the way of his agenda?

Dissatisfaction with Obama’s economic leadership “has continued to be a weight on his shoulders even as people are becoming a bit more optimistic,” says Charles Franklin, a political scientist and director of a polling project at Marquette Law School in Milwaukee. “He still has a case to make to the public that their optimism for the future is the way they should judge him, rather than the slowness of the recovery that we’ve been experiencing.”

On Obama: Americans are more likely to say his presidency has been a failure than a success, 50%-44%. His favorable rating is 50%, higher than the GOP presidential contenders but lower than every nominee in the past five presidential contests at this point except Republican Bob Dole, who lost in 1996. A 51% majority say Obama is too liberal, and Americans are inclined to say they disagree with him on the issues that matter most to them. On the positive side, 58% say he has the personality and leadership qualities a president should have.

I guess these folks would be considered racists and clinging to their Bibles and guns by the MSM and Team Obama.

Obama … Carter’s Second Term on Steroids: Americans’ Satisfaction Almost as Low as It Was Under Carter

The sycophant MSM liken Barack Obama to Lincoln and Reagan. Wrong, Obama is Jimmy Carter …

President Barack Obama is looking to eclipse yet another dubious record. With just nine months to go before the 2012 Presidential election, only 22% of Americans say they are satisfied with the way things are going.Yet another dragging indicator for Obama ahead of the election. What voter who is on the fence is going to vote for an incumbent who so many believe is taking the country in the wrong direction? Just a mere 22% say they are satisfied. That number seems rather high in my opinion.

It’s February, nine months before a presidential election, and only 22 percent of Americans say they are satisfied with the way things are going. Voters haven’t been this unhappy with the country since George H.W. Bush’s presidency, when only 21 percent of Americans reported being happy with the country’s direction. And before that, the lowest approval rating was 19 percent during Jimmy Carter’s first term.

What do the two presidencies have in common? Neither of them won re-election. And, if the trends holds true, Obama looks to be in an equally precarious situation. [Read about the 10 Worst Presidents.]
