Even Liberal Democrat Howard Dean Asks, “I Wonder If Obama Has the ‘Legal Authority to Do This’ Regarding Obama’s Fix (VIDEO)
Folks, even Howard Dean can see this is tyranny …
Following Barack Obama’s speech where he proposed a “keep your plan” fix for Obamacare, former Vermont Governor, DNC Chair and Democrat presidential candidate Howard Dean pondered while on MSNBC whether Emperor Obama had the legal authority to even propose such a “FIX” as the law had been passed by Congress. Hmm, many Conservatives are asking the same question regarding Obama’s actions. Wow, does that make Dean a racist?
“I wonder if he has the legal authority to do this, since this was a congressional bill that set this up?”
VIDEO Hat Tip – The Weekly Standard
So what is it with Barack Obama? Does he think because it is called Obamacare that he has the legal authority to change any part of the law he feels by executive fiat? Imagine if a Republican did that with abortion? When Republicans confront Obamacare, they are constantly told that it is the law of the land. Really? If it is, then how come Barack Obama thinks he can just change it himself? Maybe the real probalem with Obama is that he was too busy reading the Communist Manifesto as a youth instead of watching School House Rock and “I’m Just a Bill”.
Barack Obama Offers One Year “Fix” to Obamacare Until After the 2014 Midterm Elections Are Over … Insurers Will Be Able to Keep Currrent Substandard Policies For a Year
Barack Obama once again playing political games with Americans and America … All he did was trade one lie for another!!!
WHAT A FIASCO ... Today, President Barack Obama presents a one year joke fix to his disastrous Obamacare. As reported at the WSJ, Obama was forced to announce because of poor poll numbers and pressure from Democrats up for election in 2014 that insurers will be able to continue health-insurance coverage next year for current policyholders that otherwise would be canceled under Obamacare. Hmm, but I thought their insurance plans were such “bad apples” and “substandard? They were junk plans, they were terrible and Barack Obama and the Democrats were going to ride in on their white horses and safe the ignorant masses from themselves. Obamacare was forcing people from their terrible policies because they were so bad for Americans. You mean now they are okay? What planet is this guy from? Just what turnip truck did he just fall off of? Exactly how is it that Barack Obama is allowed to change a law all by himself? We are still a Federal Constitutional Republic, are we not? So after Obama set new standards forcing insurance companies to change their policies and discontinue other
All Obama effectively did was kick the can down the road and create more uncertainty for America. Now they are supposed to change everything because Obama said so. The insurance companies had to prepare for the regulations inflicted upon them by Obamacare and had to act accordingly. Now Obama says, oops, my bad. Who operates like this? But guess what happens next year as well … the “employer mandate” kicks in as well and more individuals will be tossed off their plans as businesses will stop covering their employees.
President Barack Obama said Thursday that insurers will be able to continue health-insurance coverage next year for current policyholders that otherwise would be canceled under the new health-care law.
The change marks a significant policy retreat by the president, one that he hopes will quell an intensifying protest over his faulty promise that Americans can keep their insurance plans under the new law.
Mr. Obama’s announcement came on the eve of a House vote on a Republican bill to alter the law, which was gaining traction among Democrats, particularly after the administration’s release Wednesday of low enrollment figures for the first month of the federal government’s problem-prone online insurance marketplace.
With millions of Americans set to lose their current health insurance, Mr. Obama said he understands that getting a cancellation notice is upsetting, “particularly after assurances they heard from me that if they had a plan that they liked they could keep it.” He added: “To those Americans, I hear you loud and clear. I said that I would do everything we can to fix this problem. And today I’m offering an idea that will help do it.”
He said that while Americans who received cancellation letters can renew those insurance plans next year, they should examine other options available on state and federal insurance marketplaces since they may be cheaper and offer more coverage.
“This fix won’t solve every problem for every person, but it will help a lot of people,” Mr. Obama said.
But as The Heritage Foundation discusses, Obama’s fix is just as flawed as his lie of promising to keep your plan if you like it. Now, Obama says it is okay for individuals to keep plans that may not cover “pre-existing” conditions, one of the main requirements of Obamacare. And what happens to those who have already had their insurance canceled? It is not like they can get their old policies back at the same price. What a cluster.
There’s one problem—the President’s promise that his new “plan” can allow people to keep their plans is just as flawed and false as his original “like your plan/keep it” pledge. The law itself is clear: Obamacare’s new benefit mandates—the requirement to cover all individuals with pre-existing conditions, the new “essential benefits,” and mandates increasing the percentage of health costs insurance plans must cover—all take effect on January 1, 2014.
The fix truly is in … Obama did this today to shift blame elsewhere and try and save the political butts of Democrats. This had nothing to do with helping the American people and healthcare.
Gallup: Americans’ Starting to Hate Obamacare … Currently 40% approve & 55% disapprove … Democrats Running for Political Cover
Then, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said, “that we have to pass the bill in order to find out what is in it.”
It looks like once the American people have found what is in it “away from the fog” of Barack Obama’s lies and purposeful misleading of the People when he said, “you could keep your healthcare plan if you like it, PEROID!” According to the most recent Gallup poll, only 40% approve of Obamacare, while 55% are against it. As millions more Americans lose their insurance, thanks to Obamacare, look for approval to further drop. So do you understand now why Obama delayed the “employer mandate”?
Americans’ views of the 2010 healthcare law have worsened in recent weeks, with 40% approving and 55% disapproving of it. For most of the past year, Americans have been divided on the law, usually tilting slightly toward disapproval. The now 15-percentage-point gap between disapproval and approval is the largest Gallup has measured in the past year.
Currently, 73% of Democrats, 39% of independents, and 8% of Republicans approve of the healthcare law. Approval is down at least marginally among all three groups since Gallup’s last update in late October.
With the disastrous roll out and consequences of Obamacare, Democrats are running for their political lives. Democrats are supposed to meet with President Obama today and they have already put forth an ultimatum that the president must do something by Friday. Democrats are losing their collective minds over the EPIC FAILURE of Obamacare. Funny, they didn’t care when they were ramming it down American’s throats. As Weasel Zippers says, grab the popcorn and a beverage, sit back and watch the carnage.
Even Sen. Dingy Harry (D-NV) is forced to have an emergency meeting on Obamacare as extremely worried, vulnerable Democrat Senators are looking for a way to distance themselves from Obamacare and come up with some scheme to make it look like they actually care. Is it possible that Obama has even lost Reid?
Probably not, Reid is a true believer because as the Politico writes, even after the WH has botched Obamacare, lied to the People and had such a disastrous Obamacare roll-out, one that could have been avoided … he is “very comfortable” that the administration will solve Obamacare’s problems.

CNN Discusses the White House Obamacare “Embarrassing” Enrollee Numbers: 106,185 Individuals Enrolled in Obamacare, Only 26,794 Thru Healthcare.gov … Meanwhile, 5 Million Have Lost Insurance
This is beyond EMBARRASSING … and the numbers are finally in:
Yesterday, HHS Sec. Kathleen Sebelius told reporters that a meager 106,185 Americans signed for Obamacare in October 2013. No wonder she did not want to provide a number weeks ago while testifying in front of Congress. This pathetic number represents only one-fifth of the total that was expected to be enrolled at this point. Making matters worse, only 26,794 people enrolled through the “glitchy” Healthcare.gov website. However, keep in mind the definition of what Barack Obama is using for these numbers. An enrolled individual is anyone who has a selected insurance plan in their bucket, not one completely accepted and paid for. The numbers released actually are for plans selected, not enrolled. Good Grief, only 42 sign-ups in North Dakota, Alaska had 53, and South Dakota 58. Seriously?
Slightly more than 106,000 Americans signed up for health plans in the first month of new state and federal insurance marketplaces, the Obama administration reported Wednesday. The figure, which was far lower than the administration predicted, points to the steep challenge ahead as the White House tries to overcome public and congressional frustration with the program’s problem-plagued rollout.
Meanwhile, millions and millions and millions of Americans have lost their insurance thanks to Obamacare.
The The Fix explains, ‘The good, the bad and the plain ugly of the Obamacare numbers’.
The enrollment tally is the first official indication of the desire and ability of uninsured Americans to get coverage under the 2010 law. Slightly fewer than 27,000 enrollments, or one-fourth of the total, occurred in the 36 states that rely on HealthCare.gov, the troubled federal Web site. The rest were in 11 of the 14 states that have created their own marketplaces, which are generally working better than the federal one. A few states are not yet reporting.
Breitbart.com compares Obamacare enrollment to canceled insurance plans:
Even the Associated Press was forced to lament the “dismal numbers.” The federal health care exchange signed up less than 27,000 people. Meanwhile, nearly 7 million people are expected to lose the insurance plans President Obama said they could keep. So far, five million have lost their insurance.
The state numbers were far from encouraging. Overall, the states signed up 79,391 people. California led the way with 35,364 people who have selected a plan (as opposed to 1 million who have lost a plan); New York came in second at 16,404 (at least 100,000 New Yorkers have lost their insurance); Washington came in third at 7,091 (290,000 have lost their insurance in Washington); and Kentucky came in at 5,586 (280,000 lost their insurance in Kentucky).
The figures, which cover Oct. 1 to Nov. 2, are significantly lower than the administration’s only known forecast, which suggested that nearly half a million people would sign up for private health plans during the first month of the initial six-month enrollment period for the exchanges. The Congressional Budget Office has predicted that 7 million people will buy coverage through the exchanges by spring.
