North Korea Calls Barack Obama ‘a Monkey’ & Blames US for Internet Cyber-Attack

North Korea can threaten US with nukes and makes no news, but call Obama a monkey and all hell breaks loose.

North Korea calls President Barack Obama an individual who always goes “reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest.” North Korea is blaming the United States for their recent internet blackout and blaming Obama of forcing Sony to release “The Interview” . North Korea has done it now, Al Sharpton will be on their tail.

North Korea has denied involvement in a crippling cyber-attack on Sony Pictures but has expressed fury over the comedy depicting an assassination of its leader Kim Jong-un. After Sony Pictures initially called off the release in a decision criticized by Obama, the movie has opened this week.

On Saturday, the North’s powerful National Defense Commission, the country’s top governing body led by Kim, said that Obama was behind the release of The Interview. It described the movie as illegal, dishonest and reactionary.

“Obama always goes reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest,” an unidentified spokesman at the commission’s policy department said in a statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency.

It wasn’t the first time North Korea has used crude insults against Obama and other top U.S. and South Korean officials. Earlier this year, North Korea called U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry a wolf with a “hideous” lantern jaw and South Korean President Park Geun-hye a prostitute. In May, the North’s official news agency published a dispatch saying Obama has the “shape of a monkey.”

A State Department spokeswoman at the time called the North Korean dispatch “offensive and ridiculous and absurd.”

UNREAL … Now it would appear that we are canceling screenings of ‘Team America’. Seriously, is this how gutless and cowardice we have become? The United States is turning tail to North Korea, REALLY? I do not think I could have said it better than Joe Scarborough, “If we have gotten to the point now where you are banning puppet movies because you fear North Korea, let me just say, YOU SUCK!!! I’m glad you don’t guard the Pentagon, I’m glad you weren’t there in 1944 scaling the walls of Normandy, YOU JUST SUCK.”

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and two other theaters with plans to screen “Team America: World Police” instead of Sony’s “The Interview” next week have abruptly cancelled those plans. They say Paramount Pictures, which made the “Team America” film, pulled the movie from all theaters. We’ve reached out to the movie studio for comment, and we’ll update if we hear from them.

One Dallas-area movie theater refuses to take the fallout from Sony’s epic data breach sitting down. In true Texas form, it’s dialed up the patriotism to 15 and announced plans to host a screening of “Team America: World Police” instead of the embattled assassination comedy “The Interview” next week.

Sony Pictures Entertainment & Movie Theaters Bows to North Korea’s Threats … Cancels Release of ‘The Interview’ (VIDEO – Movie Trailer)

Sony Pictures pulled the release of the anti-North Korean regime movie “The Interview” today. This came after Sony received threats that 9-11 like attacks on movie theaters would occur and they would be blown up if the movie was released. For that the movie was canceled. From the trailer, the movie looks somewhat lame, but one has to wonder why Sony would have green-lighted a movie like this for a comedy with the assassination of a foreign leader, whether he be a dictator or not. Gee, who could not have seen anything going wrong? But instead, Sony now does pull the flick from the screens after receiving threats. How brave of them.

With theater chains defecting en masse, Sony Pictures Entertainment has pulled the planned Christmas Day release of “The Interview.”

U.S. officials have reportedly linked a massive cyber attack against Sony to North Korea, which is at the center of the Seth Rogen-James Franco comedy.

“We are deeply saddened at this brazen effort to suppress the distribution of a movie, and in the process do damage to our company, our employees, and the American public,” Sony said in a statement. “We stand by our filmmakers and their right to free expression and are extremely disappointed by this outcome.”

In announcing the decision to cancel the holiday debut, Sony also hit back at the hackers who threatened movie theaters and moviegoers and who have terrorized the studio and its employees for weeks.

“Those who attacked us stole our intellectual property, private emails and sensitive and proprietary material, and sought to destroy our spirit and our morale – all apparently to thwart the release of a movie they did not like,” the statement reads.

A few hours after making the announcement, a studio spokesman said that Sony had “no further plans” to release the comedy, either on VOD or DVD.

“The Interview” centers on a hapless television host who is recruited to assassinate North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. The country has condemned the film and some cyber-security experts believe that it played a role in the hacking attack on the studio. North Korea has denied involvement in the attacks.
