You Know Democrats have a Turkey Stimulus Bill When SNL Rips It … Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid Mocked in Satire
The $827 billion stimulus bill is a loser and everyone knows it. Its not a stimulus plan, its Democratic pork barrel spending masquerading as a stimulus bill. You know its bad when Saturday Night Live rips the bill and skewers Senator Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on the stimulus plan.
The satire of sour grapes of Nancy Pelosi and her lack of bipartisanship is not lost in this SNL skit. The reality is that it was the House Republicans who showed bipartisanship in pulling over 11 Democrats to their side. It is newly elected President Barack Obama who has called for a new era in Washington, DC yet a bitter and hostile Nancy Pelosi is portrayed as not wanting to let bygones be bygones.
The end result is that Democrats will have passed a $827 billion stimulus plan that is nothing more than a pork barrel Democrats wish list and Obama and the Dems will own its success or failure. There is a reason why Americans are uncomfortable with the stimulus plan, SNL just provided a forum to show America’s displeasure and perceptions of the Democratic leadership.
DEMOCRATS WILL OWN THE STIMULUS PACKAGE ALONE … WATCH SNL SKIT HERE.
UPDATE I: From Instapundit comes this You Tube gem from Milton Friedman teaching Phil Donahue a lesson in capitalism and free markets.
Dr Melissa Clouthier adds the following:
The plain fact is this: before the election, there were commentors here who extolled Obama’s plans for trimming the government and making the world a better place. They talked fiscal responsibility. Where are they now? They are silent.

Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi Says 500 Million a Month Will Lose Jobs Without Stimulus Package
Some people will say anything to get an unpopular bill passed …
Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi stated that 500 million Americans a month will lose their jobs unless we pass the pork heavy $900 billion dollar stimulus package. Is this fear mongering or just plain stupidity? Was this a gaffe on Pelosi’s part or is she willing to say anything to get this unpopular stimulus package through even if it means misrepresenting the fact?
500 Million American a month will lose their jobs
500 million Americans? Really? Last I checked and it appears that Stop the ACLU has the same stats, there are only approximately 300 million Americans living in the US. I realize that present day Congress cannot differentiate between millions and billions when it comes to taxing Americans; however, one would like to think that Nancy Pelosi knows how many people actually live in the United States. Talk about being out of touch with your constituents.
THE SKY IS FALLING, 500 MILLION AMERICANS

Democrat Barney Franks Mocks Republicans on Bail Out Defeat … Pelosi Says, “We work together as a team in a bi-partisan way”
Democrat Barney Frank of Massachusetts mocked the GOP leadership (Video) for saying that it lost some votes because of a partisan floor speech by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Frank scoffs at Republican claims that Pelosi speech poisoned debate on bailout. Franks is the Chairman of the Financial Services Committee. Before Franks blames others and Republicans for the defeat of the bail out bill, maybe he would like to explain why so many members of his House Financial Services Committee voted against the bill ensuring its defeat. In the end 95 Democrats voted against the bail out package. Franks may soon look to his own party before throwing stones.
“I’ll make an offer,” he added. “Give me those 12 people’s names and I will go talk uncharacteristically nicely to them and tell them what wonderful people they are and maybe they’ll now think about the country.”
Frank, one of the major architects of the bailout package, said he was “appalled” that members of Congress would put “hurt feelings” ahead of the good of the country.
“Frankly, that’s an accusation against my Republican colleagues I would never have thought of making,” Frank said.
“Here’s the story: There’s a terrible crisis affecting the American economy. We have come together on a bill to alleviate the crisis. And because somebody hurt their feelings they decide to punish the country. I mean, I would not have imputed that degree of pettiness and hypersensitivity….But think about this: Somebody hurt my feelings so I will punish the country. I mean, that’s hardly plausible. And there are 12 Republican members who were ready to stand up for the economic interests of America but not if anybody insulted them”.
“I think they are covering up the embarrassment of not having the votes,” Frank said increduously at a Democratic news conference.
NANCY PELOSI NOW CALLS FOR BIPATISANSHIP EFFORTS
Following the bail out defeat and Peolsi’s pre-vote bomb throwing Pelosi now calls for bipartisanship. Pelosi stated, “We extend a hand of cooperation to the White House to the Republicans so that we can get this issue resolved for the benefit of Americas working families to strengthen our economy and therefore strengthen out country. We work together as a team in a bi-partisan way.” REALLY? Now Pelosi wants bi-partisanship? That’s a far cry from her rantings and insults prior to the vote. What a states woman.

House Votes on Bail Out Deal … NO DEAL!!! Bail Out Package fails 228 – 205 … Stock Market Down 778
NO DEAL! Today the House voted on the financial bail out bill and it failed. As Hot Ait stated, in the end the vote was not especially close. The final tally was 228-205 against, with Democrats supporting it 140-95, while Republicans opposed it 66-132.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 778 points, or 6.98 percent to 10,365, the biggest point drop ever.
Watch the video below where Nancy Pelosi played partisan politics while the point of the talks between Democrats and Republicans was to come together and actually do the work of the people and stop the political rhetoric and BS. Before Pelosi blames Republicans for the bill failing, she may want to explain why 94 or her fellow Democrats voted against the bail out package.
Worst. Speaker. Ever… Pelosi Loses AT LEAST 12 Votes on Partisan Speech!!
One really needs to question Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi’s judgment as to why so close to a vote where every vote would be needed for a bail out package that was supposed to be non-partisan.
“This is not a partisan crisis, this is an economic crisis,” said Deputy Minority Whip Rep. Eric Cantor, who said that 94 Democrats also refused to go along with the bill. He described the vote as the result of “Speaker Pelosi’s failure to listen and failure to lead.”
Lawmakers Blame Partisanship for Failed House Bill
A brutal round of partisan finger-pointing followed the vote.

Democrat Controlled 110th Congress Has Passed Fewest Bill in 20 Years … Wonder Why Approval Rating is so Low
Who is the real “Do Nothing” Congress?
When Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Democratic Majority Senate Leader Harry Reid assumed power they promised America a change from the ways of Republicans. The 110th Congress has become the do nothing Congress as Americans sit back and scratch their heads why they go on vacation and refuse to pass any energy legislation to deal with soaring oil prices. Nearly 75% of Americans believe the US should drill offshore and become less dependent on foreign oil. Instead, the Democratic controlled Congress takes a vacation while everyday Americans cannot afford to.
Barring a burst of legislative activity after Labor Day, this group of 535 men and women will have accomplished a rare feat. In two decades of record keeping, no sitting Congress has passed fewer public laws at this point in the session — 294 so far — than this one. That’s not to say they’ve been idle. On the flip side, no Congress in the same 20 years has been so prolific when it comes to proposing resolutions — more than 1,900, according to a tally by the nonpartisan Taxpayers for Common Sense.
What change did Democratic leadership bring to the House and Senate? Is it any wonder why Congressional approval is at an all time low.
When Democrats won control of Congress in 2006, Republicans were eager to tar them as “do nothing,” an echo of Democrat Harry Truman’s successful 1948 presidential campaign during which he railed against the “Do Nothing Congress” led by Republicans.
