8 Year Old Relisha Rudd Missing Since 2/26/14 in Washington, DC … Amber Alert Issued (Update: 51 Year Old Kahlil Malik Tatum Wanted in Andrea Denise Tatum’s Murder)(Update: DC Police: “We cannot ignore the possibility that he may have killed her.”)(Update: Dive Teams Search Waters of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens)
An AMBER ALERT was issued for Relisha Rudd on March 8, 2014; however, 8 year old Relisha Rudd has been missing since February 26, 2014 in Washington, DC. She was last seen Feb. 26 at the D.C. Shelter for Families on the grounds of the old D.C. General Hospital in Southeast. Relisha is believed to be in the company of Kahlil Tatum, who works as a janitor at the shelter. According to the Relisha’s mother’s fiance, Antonio Wheeler, the mom gave permission to Khalil Tatum, a janitor at the shelter, to take her daughter. Relisha had been missing since late February, but here disappearance was only brought to the attention of police on Wednesday when officials with D.C. Public Schools realized she hadn’t been showing up for class. Better late than never, I guess. Relisha is described as a black female, standing 4 feet tall and weighing between 70 and 80 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and a medium complexion.
Police were searching a homeless shelter next to a Washington, D.C., jail Thursday after missing 8-year-old Relisha Rudd’s mother was taken away.
The mother’s fiance said the woman gave permission to Khalil Tatum, a janitor at the shelter, to take her daughter.
“She said she is at Mr. Tatum’s house she’s good,” said Antonio Wheeler, fiance. “I seen Mr. Tatum today and he said he would bring my daughter back.”
Wheeler said he asked Tatum again later.
“I asked him, he said, ‘She is my house… would bring her back when I get off work today,’” Wheeler said.
That never happened, Wheeler said.
Authorities released surveillance footage of Tatum and Relisha taken on Feb. 26 at the Holiday Inn Express located at 1917 Bladensburg Road in Northeast D.C.
The search for Kahlil Tatum led to the Red Roof Inn in Oxon Hill. Upon further room to room searches at the hotel, the body of 51 year old Andrea Denise Tatum, the wife of Kahlil Malik Tatum, was found dead. An arrest warrant has been issued for Kahil Tatum for the murder of his wife. The police believe Relisha Rudd is traveling with Kahlil Tatum, who may be armed and dangerous, either on foot or in a different vehicle.
Since Relisha Rudd has disappeared and the events that followed, according to Shamika Young, the mother of missing Relisha, DC Child and Family Services have taken custody of her other children three children, ages 7, 5 and 4.

A man has been charged with killing his wife and may be traveling with an 8-year-old D.C. girl who has been missing for more than three weeks, authorities said.
Prince George’s County Police have obtained an arrest warrant charging Kahlil Malik Tatum, 51, of Southeast Washington with murder in the death of his wife, Andrea Denise Tatum, the police department said in a news release.
The body of Andrea Tatum, 51, was found Thursday in a motel room in Oxon Hill, where Prince George’s County officers had gone to assist the Metropolitan Police Department in its search for Relisha Tenau Rudd, who was reporting missing earlier in the week.
UPDATE I: Truck linked to missing Relisha Rudd found in Maryland. (VIDEO)
Police say a truck sought as part of the search for a Washington, D.C., girl has been found in Maryland, but police are still looking for the girl.
Prince George’s County Police said Friday that the unoccupied truck described in an Amber Alert seeking 8-year-old Relisha Rudd was found parked in Chapel Oaks.
UPDATE II: Search for missing Relisha Rudd intensifies to area of area of Kenilworth Park. … Kahlil Malik Tatum May Have Killed Relisha Rudd.
“We’re not making any assumptions, but I think it’d be prudent for us at this time to make sure we’ve searched – and this is a very large area – searched this area very well,” said D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier. “We cannot ignore the possibility that he may have killed her.”
The search of the aquatic gardens area of Kenilworth Park was prompted by evidence the man, identified as Kahlil Malik Tatum, 51, spent time there after the last credible sighting of Relisha Tenau Rudd, 8, on March 1.
“On March 2, we know that Mr. Tatum purchased, among other items, a carton of black, 42 gallon, self-tie contractor trash bags within the District of Columbia,” Lanier said at a news conference near the search area. “Not long after that purchase, Mr. Tatum was in the area of the aquatic gardens for a period of time.”
UPDATE III: Dive Teams Search the Waters of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens.
D.C. police spokesman Hugh Carew said dive teams were searching the Anacostia River in the 700-acre park in Northeast Washington, DC.
The search for missing 8-year-old girl Relisha Rudd resumed Saturday, with dive teams continuing to sift through the waters of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens for possible remains.
The search for Relisha, last seen alive on March 1, enters day three at the heavily wooded park in Northeast Washington.
It began with a foot search Thursday, after authorities discovered Kahlil Malik Tatum, the man suspected of abducting Relisha, spent more than two hours in that area shortly after purchasing a number of 42-gallon contractor style garbage bags, a shovel and lime on March 2.
Police ask anyone with information on Relisha’s whereabouts to call the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099, the Youth Investigations Division at 202-576-6768, or 911.
Washington State Mudslide Near Oso Kills 3; Searchers Now Looking for the Missing & Survivors (Update: At Least 10 People Unaccounted For)(Update: Death Toll Rises to 8)(Update: Sadly Death Toll Now at 24, Up to 176 Missing)
Following a massive mudslide that came down on their homes in Washington state, near Oso, three people died Saturday and at least 12 people, including a six-month-old baby, were were hurt. Three people were also in critical condition in the hospital. At least 6 homes have been lost and 3 people have been killed to date. Responders in Snohomish County to the mudslide called it the worst slide, the worst natural disaster, they’ve seen in decades. People have been asked to evacuate the area. Many are heeding the warnings and evacuating themselves and their animals; however, some are staying behind.
The slide cut off the city of Darrington and dammed up the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River, causing the water to pool behind the dam.
First responders in Snohomish County called it the worst slide, the worst natural disaster, they’ve seen in decades.
“Think back to what Mount St. Helens and Toutle River looked like — and that’s what we’re looking at,” said Rodney Rochon of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The National Weather Service said the river level dropped from 3.1 feet to 0.9 feet in the hour after the slide occurred, confirming the river was blocked by the slide.
Alert – Flooding expected after OSO Mudslide.
Sheriff;s office requested this Alert will update again in AM. We are lifting evacuation order during DAYLIGHT hours. You can go home, but be ready to leave. Will likely reissue evacuation order tonight.

After hearing voices pleading for help, rescuers were conducting an overnight search for survivors from a massive mudslide in Washington state that killed at least three people and forced evacuations because of fears of severe flooding.
The slide of mud, trees and rocks happened about 11 Saturday morning. Several people – including an infant – were critically injured and at least six houses were destroyed.
Snohomish County Fire District 21 Chief Travis Hots said at a news briefing late Saturday that searchers weren’t giving up on finding more people alive.
UPDATE II: CNN – SUNDAY Update: … ‘At least 10 people are unaccounted for’.
At least 10 people are unaccounted for after a landslide north of Seattle that’s already blamed for three deaths, a spokesman for Washington’s governor said Sunday.
At least six houses were destroyed in the landslide and possibly 16 were damaged, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office reported. Seven adults and a 6-month-old boy were rescued and sent to local hospitals, deputies said. But David Postman, a spokesman for Gov. Jay Inslee, said the whereabouts of at least 10 people were unknown Sunday morning.
UPDATE II: Death toll rises to 8 in Wash. mudslide.
Eight people are now confirmed dead after a massive landslide slammed into homes Saturday near Oso, Wash., authorities said Sunday.
Snohomish County sheriff’s Lt. Rob Palmer said four more bodies were discovered late Sunday. Earlier in the day, authorities said one body had been found on the debris field. Three people were confirmed dead Saturday. Tod Gates, incident commander for the Northwest Washington Incident Management Team, also announced the new death toll at a community meeting Sunday.
More people still were missing, and authorities said the number was “fluid.” Earlier Sunday, they said there were at least 18 people missing, but that was before the additional bodies were discovered.
UPDATE III: Unofficial death toll rises to 24.
Washington state officials say crews have recovered two bodies and believe they have located another eight in the debris of a massive landslide, bringing the likely death toll to 24 amid diminishing hope of finding survivors as the search enters its fifth day.
Two more fatalities were recovered Tuesday and another eight found but not yet recovered, in addition to the 14 deaths already reported, according to Snohomish County Fire District 21 Chief Travis Hots.
The mudslide, which struck the town of Oso on Saturday morning, also resulted in as many as 176 missing person reports, but officials said they could not tell how many were duplicates. Authorities are keeping the official toll at 16 until the eight other bodies are recovered.

Carly Scott, 27 Years Old & 5 Months Pregnant Has Been Missing Since 2/9/14 in Maui, Hawaii (Update: Carly’s Dog & Vehicle Found Burned)(Update: Missing Woman’s Clothes Found)
27 year old Carly Scott has been missing since Sunday, February 9, 2014 in Maui, Hawaii. Carly Scott is 5 months pregnant. Scott was last seen Sunday night at her sister’s house in Haiku. According to reports, Carly Scott got a call from her ex-boyfriend on Sunday night saying he needed help after his car had stalled and needed help near mile marker 20 on Hana highway. Search efforts have focused on Hana highway between mile marker 20 and in between mile markers 27 and 29. Also, Carly’s dog, who was with her Sunday night, was found at the Nahiku market place on Monday.
Police say Carly Scott was last seen Sunday night at her sister’s house in Haiku. The 27-year-old is five months pregnant, has red shoulder length hair, green eyes and is about 5-foot-10.
Carly’s dog, who was with her Sunday night, was found at the Nahiku market place on Monday. That’s where today’s search began.
“Anybody who goes out there, please wear bright clothing. Don’t be on Hana Highway walking. Carly would not thank any of us for getting hurt on her account,” said Kimberlyn Scott, Carly’ mother.
Kimberlyn says her daughter got a call from her ex-boyfriend Sunday night saying he needed help after his car stalled near mile marker 20 of Hana highway.
She was last seen in a silver colored 1997 Toyota 4Runner with Hawaii plates MDE-889.

UPDATE I: Missing Maui woman’s car found, search continues for Carly Scott.
Carly Scott’s vehicle was found Wednesday night at the top of Jaws surf break on the North Shore. Scott’s mother, Kimberly said, “They said that on a hunch because of where Steven lives, they decided to go down there and look and they found her car.” This is not looking good and all eyes have to be focused on the ex-boy friend at this point. He was the last person to see Carly and his account of what happened do not seem to jive with locations of Carly’s dog and vehicle being found.
Friends, who say they were “searching on a hunch”, discovered the car of a missing woman on Maui this evening, but still no sign of five-month pregnant Carly Scott.
It’s now been 72-hours since family members or friends have seen or heard from Charly, as those close to her call her.
Friends tell Hawaii News Now they discovered her car at the top of Jaws surf break just after 6 p.m. Wednesday night.
“They said that on a hunch because of where Steven lives, they decided to go down there and look and they found her car,” described Scott’s mother, Kimberly.
Steven is Scott’s ex-boyfriend, who family members describe as estranged and the father of her unborn baby.
According to her ex-boyfriend, that’s where she drove to help him after his car broke down Sunday. He reported to police she was following him back to Haiku — but all of a sudden, she was gone. Scott’s car was found 20 miles in the opposite direction.
Hawaii News Now – KGMB and KHNL UPDATE II: Missing Maui woman’s car found burnt, on side.
The search for a missing Maui woman who is five months pregnant continues Thursday. In a phone interview Thursday morning on Hawaii News Now Sunrise, Carly Scott’s mother Kimberlyn said her daughter’s car was found, “on its side and part of it was burned.” Today’s search will focus on the stretch of road from Keanae to Haiku.

UPDATE III: Breaking: Clothes of missing pregnant woman found.
More very bad news in the search for missing 27 year old Carly Scott. The missing woman’s clothes has been found near the Hana highway where Carly’s dog was found. So far no body has been found. Carly’s ex-boyfriend and the father of her unborn baby, 24 year Steven old Steven Capobianco, has not been charged and is not a suspect. YET! The ex-boyfriend has been questioned by the police and took a lie detectors test, that authorities say he failed.
So let’s get the story straight here that the ex is telling … Steven Capobianco calls up his estranged girlfriend who is 5 months pregnant with his child to help him because his car broke down. Carly drives to help him. So what was wrong with his car? Is Carly the 2010′s version of Marisa Tomei, Mona Lisa Vito, from ‘My Cousin Vinny’? How exactly did she help him with his broken down car? One would think that all she could do is drive him back home or to a gas station so that he could call a tow truck. But no, Steven Capobianco says that she was following him in her car and because he drives faster, she was out of site. He never called her or texted her to see if she was ok. WHO DOES THIS? So this guy called her to help him and he didn’t have the where with all to make sure she and his unborn child was ok.
Sorry, does not pass the smell test.
Charli Scott’s sister found clothes that she says Charli was wearing when she disappeared Sunday night.
Sources tell Hawaii News Now, the sister found the items while searching the area around the Hana Highway. The family called police Thursday evening and were apparently told them to stay there with the items until a detective arrived. But the sister instead drove the items to the police station in Kahului where the clothes and blanket are being processed.
This comes one day after Charli’s SUV was found torched near Jaws surf break.

UPDATE IV: Search underway in Maui for missing pregnant woman.
A private search party was looking for a missing pregnant Hawaii woman whose SUV was found torched two days earlier in a rural area.
The search continued Friday for Scott, who is five months pregnant.
Maui police said someone in the search party found “possible evidence” Thursday. But police aren’t revealing what was found. They’re asking searchers who find possible clues not to touch or move them.

33 Year Old Leanne Hecht Bearden Missing Since 1/17/14 in Garden Ridge, TX … Reportedly Went for a Walk from In-Laws Home (MAP) (Update: Authorities Call off Searches)(Update: Did Leanne Bearden Leave on Her Own?) (Update: Leanne Hecht Bearden Found Deceased, Apparent Suicide)
33 year old Leanne Hecht Bearden has been missing since January 17, 2014 in Garden Ridge, Texas. Leanne’s family says that was last seen when she went to go for a walk on Friday afternoon around 1:00 pm in the Garden Ridge area (map). She said that she would be right back and has never been seen nor heard from again. The Denver, Colorado woman who had traveled the world with her husband was supposed to return home Tuesday; however, instead, she has disappeared in Texas. So how does a woman go missing after going for a walk from her in-laws home, who had just gone on a 56 country excursion with her husband, Josh Bearden, for the past two years?
She is 5-foot-2, weighs about 100 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. She has two piercings on her left ear: one on the bottom and a small loop at the top. She was last seen wearing jeans and hiking shoes.
Friends and family of Leanne Hecht Bearden say that she did not just walk away. According to accounts, Leanne and Josh Bearden were scheduled on Monday to go back to Denver, where they had job interviews lined up. Also according to reports, Leanne Bearden and her husband were the only people in the house around 1 p.m. Friday. Leanne did not take her cellphone or any electronic devices and had $60 in cash at most (VIDEO). She had her wallet with credit cards; however, they have not been used.
Leanne and Josh Bearden were scheduled on Monday to go back to Denver, where they had job interviews lined up, Sculley said. They were renting their house there through an agency and were planning to take it over in May, Sculley said.
Leanne Bearden was having some difficulties adjusting after the worldwide excursion, according to her sister-in-law.
“It was kind of a hard transition for her, so she’s having some anxiety about it, but nothing that seemed like she was just going to run off,” Sculley said.
The Beardens blogged during their trip around the world at www.goexplore365.com. They met at a bar, got engaged after eight months of dating and were married at the Denver Zoo, according to the blog. Leanne Bearden has run nine marathons, was in a band before the trip and can do an Elmo impression, the blog says.
Leanne Bearden and her husband were the only people in the house around 1 p.m. Friday when she said she was going for a walk, Sculley said. Josh Bearden called police four hours later to report his wife had not returned, Sculley said.
Family members said she did not take her cellphone or any electronic devices and had $60 in cash at most. She had her wallet with credit cards but has not used them, according to her husband, who has been checking. Leanne Bearden also had her wedding and engagement rings when she left, family members said.

UPDATE I: Search for missing Leanne Hecht Bearden turns up no new evidence.
Searchers scoured a 23-square-mile area — far larger than tiny, 6-square-mile Garden Ridge. More than 100 volunteers from Texas Search and Rescue and the Texas State Guard Maritime Regiment joined the massive search, as did roughly four dozen law enforcement officials from Comal County, the Department of Public Safety, the Texas Rangers and the FBI, among other agencies.
At the conclusion to an “exhaustive search” Saturday for Leanne Hecht Bearden, officials announced they found no evidence a crime had been committed in the area where she was last seen Jan. 17 and would end search efforts.
“We have exhausted the area surrounding our city and we will continue to follow all leads and watch for anything that might lead us to a positive result in finding Mrs. Bearden,” said Garden Ridge Police Chief Donna O’Conner. “The investigation leads us to believe, at this point, we have cleared any leads that might lead us to believe it is a crime committed in the immediate area when she walked off.”
The massive search and rescue effort was launched Saturday morning, as local law enforcement officials enlisted help from agencies across the state to find Bearden, who went for a walk eight days ago and never returned.
UPDATE II: Statement from Leanne’s Family.
As you can imagine, we are disappointed that today’s extensive search of the Garden Ridge area failed to lead to give us any more information as to Leanne’s whereabouts. On the other hand, the fact that she was not found encourages us to believe that she still survives and will eventually be reunited with us. We still do not know what happened to her once she began her walk from the Bearden home in Garden Ridge. We also encourage anyone who might have any information about her location to contact the Garden Ridge police at 210-651-6441 or their local police department. (more)
UPDATE III: Map of the area where Leanne Hecht Bearden went missing from.
UPDATE IV: Police Say Witness Saw Bearden leave the home January 17, they interviewed that man and verified the time she left the home by herself.
There is a quarry nearby as can be seen in the map search above. Maybe divers are needed, if they have not already done so, or side scan sonar.
A man trimming trees across the street reportedly saw Bearden leave the home January 17. Garden Ridge police say they interviewed that man and verified the time she left the home by herself, and that everything appeared fine.
“We just don’t know,” said Leanne’s father-in-law. “We will stick with what we know until we know something differently. And what we know is she walked out of the driveway and walked up the street and that’s all we know.”
Many of the Bearden’s friends have put their own lives on hold to help search. There is a quarry nearby, and several wooded areas.
UPDATE V: Texas authorities call off search for missing woman, husband vows to keep looking.
A person matching the description of 33-year-old Leanne Bearden was seen in the Houston area, according to a Facebook page set up by her friends.
On Wednesday, the Houston Chronicle reported that the Houston Police Department had ruled out the woman thought to be Bearden.
UPDATE VII: Family: ‘Strong possibility’ missing woman left on her own.
After two weeks of fruitless searching for Leanne Hecht Bearden, her family says evidence suggests “a strong possibility” that she disappeared on her own Jan. 17 from the Garden Ridge home of her in-laws.
That conclusion is based on accounts that Bearden, 33, was troubled before leaving the residence and on two reported sightings of her walking along FM 3009 toward Interstate 35 soon afterward.
UPDATE VIII: 33 year old Leanne Hecht Bearden found deceased, apparent suicide.

Search Continues for Family Missing Since Sunday, 12/8/13 in Snow & Cold in Northwest Nevada: James Glanton, 34, Christina MacIntee, 25, His Two Children Evan Glanton & Chloe Glanton, and MacIntee’s Niece and Nephew, Shelby Fitzpatrick & Tate McIntee (Update: All Found Alive & Safe)
The race is on against snow and cold temperatures to find a family of six who are missing in the Northwest mountains of Nevada.
Rescue teams racing against the clock and the bitter cold to find 34 year old James Glanton, his girlfriend 25 year old Christina McIntee, his two children, Evan Glanton and Chloe Glanton, and Christina’s niece and nephew, Shelby Fitzpatrick and Tate McIntee. The four missing children are ages, a 10 year old, two 4 year olds and a 3 year old. The six disappeared in the Seven Troughs mountain range on a snow outing to play in the snow.
The family has not had any communication with others since they went missing, according to Sheila Reitz of the sheriff’s office.
They went to the Seven Troughs area on isolated federal land about noon on Sunday in a silver Jeep with a black top, authorities said. It was unclear what supplies they might have been carrying.
“I’m hoping they all huddled together and stayed in the Jeep,” said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chuck Allen, who added that the area has spotty cellular coverage. “That would be a best-case scenario.”
Frigid weather gripping much of the United States led to a frenzied search in northwest Nevada, where rescue teams are searching a mountainous area for two adults and four children who went to play in the snow and never returned.
James Glanton, 34, and Christina MacIntee, 25, are missing, along with Glanton’s two children and MacIntee’s niece and nephew. The children are 3 to 10 years old, the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office said.
The group set out Sunday for Seven Troughs mountain range and haven’t been seen since.
Fears intensified as the temperature plummeted to below zero.
Amanda Fitzpatrick, mother of 10-year-old Shelby Fitzpatrick, has joined the search in the freezing cold.
“It’s been extremely hard, probably the hardest 24 to 36 hours of my life,” she told CNN’s Piers Morgan. “It’s my baby girl.”
UPDATE I: Extreme cold raises concerns for missing family in Nevada.
Temperatures in storm-stricken parts of the country were expected to remain 10- to 20 degrees below normal for the remainder of the week, the National Weather Service said.
Overnight temperatures in Lovelock, Nev., near the mountain range were below zero, WeatherUnderground.com indicated.
UPDATE II: FANTASTIC NEWS OUT OF NEVADA … CNN is reporting that all six missing family members have been found alive and well!!!
A family of six survived two days in wintry Nevada mountains by starting a fire and then bringing warm rocks into their overturned Jeep, preventing frostbite to the couple and four small children, local residents said Tuesday.
When three residents finally found the family and their vehicle during a massive search, the family had little food left, so resident Salvador Paredes pulled a candy bar from his pocket and shared it with them, Paredes said.
The group was found safe in an area called Trinity Canyon, according to the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office. They were discovered from a distance by a volunteer searcher using binoculars to scan mountainsides, the sheriff’s office said. It wasn’t immediately clear which of the three residents made the discovery.
All six were in stable condition with “no frostbite, just some exposure issues,” said Patty Bianchi, CEO of Pershing General Hospital. The family consists of a man and woman who have two children together; the woman also was traveling with her nephew and niece, the sheriff’s office said.
UPDATE III: 6 missing adults, children found alive in Nevada.
“Their father kept them alive and well,” said Patty Bianchi, CEO of Pershing General Hospital, where the six were taken. “Everybody is in good shape. There was no frostbite. They are stable. They suffered a little exposure and dehydration, but that is all.”
About 100 well-wishers lined the street outside the hospital and broke into cheers when two of the smallest children were taken from an ambulance. The others walked into the hospital on their own.
“The mood where I’m at’s ecstatic,” said Col. Tim Hahn of the Civil Air Patrol, which used several planes to search for the group. “We are thrilled beyond words.”
