Two people are missing and 3 are dead following a pontoon boat accident on the Ohio River. According to authorities, 10 people were believed to be aboard the boat and that four were rescued after the accident shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday. The pontoon boat hit the Clark Memorial Bridge and capsized in the Ohio River. The incident was reported around 9:30 PM on July 4 just as crowds had gathered up and down the waterfront to watch the Independence Day fireworks. Four people were rescued, 3 of the those sent to hospitals are at Korsair Children’s Hospital and are believed to be in stable condition. The fourth was sent to University Hospital and is in unknown condition.
Kentucky authorities say three people were killed and three remain missing after the pontoon boat they were riding in hit the Clark Memorial Bridge and capsized in the Ohio River.
Louisville Fire Department spokesman Capt. Salvador Melendez told The Associated Press on Sunday that 10 people were believed to be aboard the boat and that four were rescued after the accident shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday.
Melendez said the fatalities include two adults and one child. He said a child is also considered to be among the missing.
UPDATE I: Search resumes, crews search for 3 missing in Ohio River.
He said the current of the Ohio River was too swift to send dive teams into the water, leaving crews left to search for the missing on the surface of the water.
“The water is very rapid. We’re unable to put divers in the water due to the current. So we are continuing a search on the surface only using the air unit and things of that nature,” said Louisville Fire Chief Greg Frederick.
The first call to dispatchers came in around 9:28 p.m. as thousands gathered along Waterfront Park for the 4th of July festivities.
A helicopter could be seen above the bridge searching for the missing people just before the fireworks started Saturday evening.
Rescue teams resumed their search at 9 a.m. Sunday with officials locating debris near a New Albany boat ramp.

Nine people were on board when the accident occurred Saturday night, Louisville Fire Chief Gregory Frederick said.
Four people were rescused but three people — two adults and one child — were still missing today, Frederick said. Rescue crews were searching the river for them today, the Coast Guard said.

Missing – 6 month old Ember Graham
Ember Graham was reportedly last seen Wednesday night inside her home in Happy Valley, about 150 miles north of Sacramento. Her father Matthew Graham said he went to check on her around 5:30 Thursday morning, and found her crib empty, reports the station.
The disappearance is considered “suspicious,” Lt. Dave Kent of the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office told the Record-Searchlight.
Police are interviewing the child’s family members, including Matthew Graham and the girl’s mother Jamie Graham. According to the station, police say that everyone contacted has been cooperative.

UPDATE I: Baby’s father ‘person of interest’; $10k reward offered.
Matthew Graham, father of baby Ember Graham, has been named a “person of interest” in her disappearance, according to Shasta County Sheriff’s Lt. Dave Kent.
Kent said no other person of interest has been identified in the case. Ember’s mother, Jamie Lee Graham, is cooperating, he said.
“We have very limited information,” Kent said.
As reported earlier, Matthew Graham has been in Shasta County Jail on a probation violation, and is being held without bail. He was the first to report the baby missing from her crib a little after 5 a.m. Thursday morning.
Kent said the violation stems from DUI and forgery cases. During questioning, Matthew Graham gave investigators information that he took medication that had not been disclosed to his probation officer, which is a violation of conditions, Kent said.
UPDATE II: Sheriff: Missing baby Ember most likely not alive.
Monday marks the fifth day search and rescue teams from all over California have been searching for missing 6-month-old Ember Sky Graham.
Ember was reported missing from her crib early Thursday morning by her father, Matthew Graham, who is a person of interest in the disappearance of the baby.
Almost 80 volunteers from statewide search and rescue teams and 60 family members searched the countryside on Monday for the six-month-old. The search efforts are concentrated in the area of Clear Creek Road in Happy Valley.
Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko said given the time that has passed and the heat over the last five days, they are looking to recover the body of baby Ember to see if there’s any “recoverable evidence there.”

Missing Maricopa, Arizona Couple, 44 Year Old Michael Careccia & 42 Year Old Tina Careccia, Bodies Found … Jose Valenzuela Arrested & Charged with First Degree Murder
The bodies of missing 44 year old Michael Careccia and his wife, 42 year old Tina Careccia have been found in Maricopa, Arizona. The bodies were found on the property of 38 year old Jose Valenzuela in a 6 foot grave. Valenzuela reportedly confessed to the crime and has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He is being held on a $2 million cash bond. Valenzuela reportedly shot the victims with a .22 caliber handgun. Valenzuela claims that he and the couple have been acquainted for the past two years and used methamphetamine together. Michael Careccia and Tina Careccia went missing on 6/22/15. Investigators said Valenzuela brought meth to the couple’s home the day before they went missing, Father’s Day. Then they went to Valenzuela’s home later that day and Valenzuela brandished a weapon during a fight. Of course this is the comments of a man facing two counts of first degree murder. A toxicology will have to be done to confirm any of his comments.
A missing Phoenix-area couple were killed and buried in the yard of a man who told investigators he was high on methamphetamine at the time, authorities said Thursday.
Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said Jose Valenzuela, 38, acknowledged killing Michael Careccia, 44, and his wife, Tina, 42.
“Essentially he confessed,” Babeu said at a news conference.
Valenzuela has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He is being held on a $2 million cash bond.
According to Babeu, Valenzuela was found with a .22 caliber revolver that authorities believe is the murder weapon.
Two bodies were recovered from Valenzuela’s property and identified as the couple, authorities said. The grave was not noticeable initially because the suspect had piled other debris and materials on top of it, Babeu added.
Jose Valenzuela claims a fight broke out after he had provided drugs to the couple. Read the story and see if it makes any sense or was Jose on meth at the time he confessed to authorities?
Valenzuela claimed he brought Michael and Tina Careccia the drug on June 21 and attended a Father’s Day party at the Carrecias’ home, Babeu said.
“Sometime later that evening … they went over to Valenzuela’s home, and something happened, a fight ensued and that’s when he brandished a weapon,” Babeu told reporters.
Valenzuela allegedly used a .22-caliber revolver to kill the couple. He shot Michael Careccia first, and then shot Tina Careccia sometime later, Babeu said. Investigators believe Valenzuela was high on drugs at the time of the killings.
The bodies were kept on the property, possibly in a shed, until Valenzuela borrowed a backhoe from an acquaintance and buried them in a six-foot deep grave, and their car was moved to a location away from the home, Babeu said.

29 year old Amanda Waller has been missing since Thursday, June 25, 2015 while she was snorkeling with her husband and friends along Cas Abou Beach in the Caribbean island of Curacao. When the snorkeling group returned to shore about 20 minutes later, they realized that Waller was missing. Days of searching by the Coast Guard and volunteer divers have turned up no clues. There have been searches in the water and on the land as it is not known whether Amanda Waller from Katy, Texas made it to shore or not.
Amanda Waller
Anthony Waller told KHOU that his sister-in-law, Amanda Waller, 29, was snorkeling with her husband and friends along Cas Abou Beach around 3 p.m. Thursday, June 25, when she went missing.
Matt Myers, who was part of that snorkeling group, told KHOU that after snorkeling and taking pictures in the water, one of the women became tired and began swimming to shore.
He says a couple minutes later, Amanda Waller began swimming after her.
However, when the group returned to shore about 20 minutes later, they realized that Waller was missing.
After an unsuccessful search in the water, Myers says they called the Coast Guard, who arrived within 30 minutes to begin the search.
VIDEO below of snorkeling not related to this case but to provide context of what it looks like. The water appears to be calm and extremely clear. It is hard to imagine one could not find a person in such water.
A missing-person alert on the GoFundMe page urges people to call police or the U.S. Embassy if they see Waller.
