Non-Profit Homes for Our Troops Gave Home to “Permanently Paralyzed” Vet Army Specialist Justin Perez-Gorda … Now Must Weigh Options as it Appears to Have been a Fraud

STOLEN VALOR HOME Was this a con from the outset by this couple to get a new home bought and paid for?

Homes for Our Troops, a non-profit organization, provided military veteran Army Specialist Justin Perez-Gorda a home free of charge to account for his handicap and paralysis; however, something fishy appears to be going on … within weeks after Justin Perez-Gorda and his wife moved into the home, he was walking. Miracle or fraud? I will opt for the latter. When confronted by the media of his miraculous recovery, Justin Perez-Gorda told the reporter to get off his property.  The non-profit, Homes for Our Troops said the organization is thinking about its next steps and has to weigh their options. One of them might be trying to take back the home.

The man suffered a brain injury in Afghanistan in 2011, but for years he and his wife claimed that he was paralyzed form the waist down.

“He has permanent loss of use of both lower extremities. He’s paralyzed from the belly button down,” Josephine Perez-Gorda said in a Homes for Our Troops promotional video.

But, soon after the couple moved into the house specially designed for a handicapped individual, neighbors noticed something odd: Perez-Gorda could walk. Those who spoke to WTSP said the couple became angry when asked about his condition.

‘Paralyzed’ veteran given free home caught walking.

Army Specialist Justin Perez-Gorda suffered a traumatic brain injury while serving in Afghanistan in January 2011.

For years, he and his wife claimed publicly he was paralyzed from the belly button down.

“He has permanent loss of use of both lower extremities. He’s paralyzed from the belly button down,” Josephine Perez-Gorda said during a taped video segment later used by Homes for Our Troops for fundraising efforts.

Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization building specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for the most severely injured Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.

If this is a fraud, which it really appears to be, it is disgusting. With so many soldiers returning from war in Iraq and Afghanistan that are truly needing of such homes, for one of their own to perpetrate such a con is just unconscionable. There is no doubt that Army Specialist Justin Perez-Gorda suffered some type of injury, but it was nothing like what was embellished. Watch the promotional VIDEO below from Homes for Our Troops and you can plainly hear Justin’s wife, Josephine Perez-Gorda, say at the 1:35 minute mark that he has permanent loss of the use of both lower extremities and that he was paralyzed from the belly-button down. Hmm, that is a far cry from the VIDEO above where Justin can be seen walking and carrying wood.

Army SPC Justin Perez-Gorda was on his first deployment when he became a paraplegic and suffered a traumatic brain injury, as the result of an IED explosion in Memlah, Afghanistan on January 5, 2011.

LEFTWING MEDIA HAS GONE TOO FAR THIS TIME … CNN’s Brooke Baldwin Blames Military Veterans for Baltimore Riots (Update: Apologizes on Twitter. Finally on TV)

LIBERALISM TRULY IS A MENTAL DISEASE … WELCOME TO THE DEMOCRAT-MEDIA COMPLEX.

While doing an interview with Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) in the midst of the turmoil on the streets of Baltimore, CNN’s Brooke Baldwin had the audacity to blame military veterans for the Baltimore riots. WHAT? This liberal media-insanoid literally blamed vets coming home saying, “I love our nation’s veterans, but some of them are coming back from war, they don’t know the communities, and they are ready to do battle.” Really, you love them, I would hate to see if you didn’t love them what you would say. Welcome to the LEFT-wing media of today that does not report the news, but instead tries to pain a narrative that does not exist. Sorry, ESPN suspended foul-mouthed ESPN reporter Britt McHenry went off on a tirade on a impound lot employee, CNN should fire Brooke Baldwin for these false and ugly comments. But they won’t because this is the hate and bias that consumes liberal media outlets today.

Hmm, so what is Brooke Baldwin’s message, or should i say smear … Don’t hire vets because they are too unstable to be trusted? But don’t worry, she loves them.

VIDEO – Washington Free Beacon

From Breitbart.com:

After more than a year of CNN pouring gasoline all over America with hysterical, and oftentimes phony, stories of American racism, the left-wing network’s afternoon anchor Brooke Baldwin finally took it to the next level by blaming American veterans for the Baltimore riots.

In a pathetic suck-up interview with Democrat Congressman Elijah Cummins, Baldwin never once had the moral courage to ask the failed Baltimore City congressman if the left-wing policies ushered in by a half-century of a Democrat monopoly in Baltimore might have something to do with the city’s ills. Instead, she said of young military veterans who become police officers, “I love our nation’s veterans, but some of them are coming back from war, they don’t know the communities, and they are ready to do battle.”

The context was a discussion about increased training and retraining for the Baltimore police.

There’s no question Baldwin is hoping to launch a narrative with that smear.

UPDATE I: Brooke Baldwin apologized like a coward hiding behind her Twitter account. Sorry Brooke, you don’t get to make such inflammatory, hateful and defamatory comments like you did stereotyping our brave American vets on TV and then apologize on Twitter. What a brave soul you are. Get your butt on TV and apologize. Then I want you to go to  Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, she’s not that far away and apologize in person to wounded vets.

UPDATE II: Brooke Baldwin’s lame Twitter apology did not cut it so she was forced to apologize on TV.

CNN’s Brooke Baldwin this morning may have done the impossible: Deliver a mea culpa that the nation’s apology police cannot possibly puncture, dismantle, nitpick or otherwise trash.

Sweeping, tendentious nonsense. Baldwin offered no evidence to support her case that somehow battle-scarred veterans from recent wars were responsible for any of the policing problems in the country’s big cities, let alone in Baltimore. People on the Internet let her know of their disapproval. Baldwin’s first response was a bit weak:

That defense doesn’t work at CNN, which sells itself as a purveyor of straight-up journalism around the clock. So what if some hack “vocalized” a concern to Baldwin? Isn’t it her job to filter that concern, fact-check it and pat it down before “re-vocalizing” it?

Given some more time to think about it all, Baldwin this morning came around. Early this morning, she tweeted.

On CNN’s “New Day” program Baldwin said the following:

I made a mistake yesterday. We were in the middle of live TV, I was talking to a member of Congress, and I was recounting a story, a conversation I had had recently just referring to police. And I absolutely misspoke, I inartfully chose my words 100 percent and I just wish speaking to all of you this morning: I wholeheartedly retract what I said. And I’ve thought tremendously about this, and to our nation’s veterans, to you — this is just who I want to speak with this morning — I have the utmost respect for our men and women in uniform. And I wanted you to know that this morning, so to all of you, I owe a tremendous apology. I am truly sorry.

Sorry Brooke if I don’t believe a word of your apology. You meant every word you said, and that’s okay, just own it. You are a bed-wetting liberal who doesn’t know any better and repeats hateful BS. That’s okay, just say it.

EXIT QUESTION: Replace “VET” with “BLACKS” and does Brooke Baldwin have a job this morning?

The University of Florida’s Zeta Beta Tau Frat Under Investigation After Members Spit On Wounded Vets and Pissed on American Flag (Update: UF Suspends ZBT)

UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA ZETA BETA TAU FRAT SPIT AT WOUNDED VETS AND URINATED ON AMERICAN FLAG …

The University of Florida’s Zeta Beta Tau frat is under investigation after it was reported that members of their fraternity spit on wounded veterans and their service dogs and urinated on American flags. WTF is wrong with kids these days? The incident occurred at Panama Beach, gee what a shocker, when Zeta Beta Tau students from UF and Emory University were in Panama City Beach for their spring formal and wounded vets and their families were in town as well as part of the Warrior Beach Retreat. Panama City, FL gets another black eye. Is there any semblance of decorum in this town anymore? The University of Florida and Emory University should be embarrassed and ashamed of the actions of there frats. Personally, I believe they should be booted off campus and eliminated. This kind of conduct should never be tolerated. The UF ZBT frat was already on probation prior to this disgusting act. Sorry, they need to be gone, they obviously serve no functional purpose and have such contempt for wounded American heroes that have defended America’s freedom’s, including theirs.

The University of Florida’s chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity is under investigation after members spit on and took flags from wounded veterans.

Last weekend, Zeta Beta Tau students from UF and Emory University were in Panama City Beach for their spring formal. They were staying at the Laketown Wharf Resort where veterans were also staying for the Warrior Beach Retreat, according to Linda Cope, founder of the retreat.

For the past six years, the Warrior Beach Retreat has been hosted by Panama City Beach twice a year to bring in wounded veterans and their families.

Cope honors her son, Joshua, at the retreat — he lost both legs and his right hand after his vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Iraq, according to the retreat site.

Members of the University of Florida chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity are under investigation after spitting on and taking flags from wounded veterans. The students and veterans were in Panama City Beach when the incident occurred.

Cope said Zeta Beta Tau students picked on the veterans, spit on them and their service dogs, and urinated on American flags.

“In all of my years, I’ve never seen such debauchery and disrespect,” Cope said.

Linda Cope then received an email apology from UF President W. Kent Fuchs, Executive Director of the National Zeta Beta Tau Laurence A. Bolotin, but nothing from Emory University.

“I want to make clear that I am deeply sorry for the affront that our students may have caused,” Fuchs wrote in the email. “I want to assure you that it is not representative of our students or our university, and we will make every effort to learn more, take appropriate action and prevent similar incidents from occurring again.”

“The University of Florida is extremely concerned about allegations, specifically of illegal behavior with our students,” Sikes said. “We’re taking this matter vary seriously and opened an investigation to determined what happened and what we need to do in response.”

Executive Director of the National Zeta Beta Tau Laurence A. Bolotin, a University of Florida graduate from 2001, also wrote to Cope, stating Emory, UF and the international headquarters are fully cooperating with investigations and both chapters have placed themselves under suspension.

UPDATE I: The University of Florida has Suspended ZBT.

The University of Florida suspended one of its fraternities on Friday after allegations that its members hurled drunken insults and spat at a group of disabled military veterans at a Panama City Beach resort.

The school said on Friday that it is charging the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity with obscene behavior, public intoxication, theft, causing physical or other harm, and damage to property.

The suspension came after the fraternity had already suspended operations itself and expelled three of its members after finding they had behaved inappropriately.

“I am personally offended and disappointed by the behavior that has been described to me,” Dave Kratzer, the school’s student affairs vice president and retired U.S. Army major general, said in a statement.

UPDATE II: Emory University claims their Frat were angels.

CBS46 News

Emory officials said they are investigating but so far there’s no evidence to implicate their students in the incident. Emory’s Zeta Beta Tau fraternity told CBS 46 in Atlanta they were shocked to learn of what they call “atrocious acts.”

But Cope told the station: “There were too many students from Emory for none of them to be involved. It is hard for me to believe that no Emory student was a part of this. This denial is a slap in the face of veterans.”

About 60 veterans who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan were also attending a retreat that has been held twice a year for the past six years at the resort. Cope started the event in honor of her son Joshua, who lost both legs in Baghdad in 2006 when a roadside bomb exploded under his Humvee.

One letter to Fuchs described students spitting on veterans, throwing beer bottles over a balcony and ripping flags off their cars.

Cope said hotel security got the situation under control and the fraternity members were evicted the next morning. The fraternity sent a letter of apology to Cope.

Stolen Valor in Tampa, FL Outside MacDill Airforce Base

THIS IS AN INSTANT CLASSIC:  MAN RIPS BEGGING FRAUD … “TAKE OFF MY UNIFORM”.

STOLEN VALOR: It is one thing to beg, its quite another thing to beg while pretending to be a down and out military veteran and it, as the man says in the video, takes balls, to beg and pretend to be a military veteran outside a military base. Watch the man below rip this fraud a new one. You can hear Garrett Goodwin say to the homeless fraud, “That’s my uniform! My brothers died in that uniform.” … “Take that and throw it away!” … “Don’t put it back on.” … “Not on my watch. Not yesterday. Not today. Not tomorrow.”

Kudos to  Garrett Goodwin!!!

Warning – Language

STOLEN VALOR CONFRONTED.

The man in uniform claimed to be a vet and was begging for money, and Garrett Goodwin had seen enough.

Goodwin is an Army veteran who confronted an apparently fake one on the streets of Tampa on Monday.

It happened at the intersection of Gandy and Dale Mabry, and the video has been seen by more than 1.8 million people on Facebook.

The man is holding a sign that says he’s a homeless veteran and he needs help. It just so happens that Goodwin helps organizations who reach out to veterans in need, but minutes into the conversation, he says he knew something was up.

“That’s my uniform! My brothers died in that uniform,” you can hear him say on the video.

In fact, he told FOX 13 that he’s burying a friend — a Marine who died of cancer — and that’s one of the reasons why he reacted so strongly.

“Take that and throw it away!” he screams at the man. “Don’t put it back on.”

“I was angry. I was frustrated. I was sad,” Goodwin said.

He isn’t the only one. The video has been shared by tens of thousands of people on Facebook. Goodwin, an Army medic for nine years, takes it personally.

Pearl Harbor Day 2014: 73rd Anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor … December 7th, 1941, a Date That Will Forever Live in Infamy

Pearl Harbor Day 2014 …  December 7th, 1941, a Date That Will forever Live in Infamy …

Today marks the 73rd anniversary of the day the United States was suddenly and deliberately attacked the Empire of Japan and the United States would never be the same. We remember those brave men and women that died that fateful day. And we honor those that survived and fought on to defend the United States, freedom and liberty. The reprehensible and treacherous sneak act unified a country and awoke a sleeping giant that provided the resolve to win a war against the evil Axis. It was that resolve, leadership and focus on the enemy that enabled the United States and its Allies to victory.

God Bless the heroism of Our Greatest Generation!

USS Arizona Under Attack at Pearl Harbor

 FDR’s Pearl Harbor speech:

Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 – a date which will live in infamy – the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with the government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific.

Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleagues delivered to the Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or armed attack.

Pear_Harbor_newspaper

It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time, the Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. Very many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.

Yesterday the Japanese Government also launched an attack against Malaya. Last night Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong. Last night Japanese forces attacked Guam. Last night Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands. Last night the Japanese attacked Wake Island. This morning the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation.

As Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense.

Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

Pear_Harbor2

I believe I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make very certain that this form of treachery shall never endanger us again.

Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory and our interests are in grave danger.

With confidence in our armed forces – with the unbounded determination of our people – we will gain the inevitable triumph – so help us God.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December seventh, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire.”

UPDATE I: Pearl Harbor survivors reunite in Hawaii to mark 73rd anniversary of attack.

More than a dozen Pearl Harbor survivors, each more than 90 years old, gathered in Hawaii this week to share stories as they marked the 73rd anniversary of the Japanese attack that killed 2,400 sailors, Marines and soldiers.

The gathering has been called the last meeting for the USS Arizona Reunion Association – comprised of the remaining nine survivors of the USS Arizona, a battleship that sank in the Dec. 7, 1941, attack.

But Louis Conter isn’t ready to talk about the end.

“I don’t think this is going to be our last. … We’ve still got time to go,” said Conter, 93, of Grass Valley, Calif. “We’ll be back out here no matter whether the rest of the crowd can make it or not.”
