The Rich Get Richer … Maria Bartiromo Leaving CNBC For the FOX Business Network

The #1 Cable News Network just landed a huge get for their Business channel …

From TV Newser comes the following story, after 20 years at CNBC, Maria Bartiromo is leaving and headed to the the Fox Business Network. The “Money Honey”will re-join Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, who first put her on the air when he ran CNBC. Maria over the years has also been called the “Business Babe.”  But seriously, Maria Bartiromo is a ground-breaker in the industry, not just for woman, but for reporting on major business stories over the years and making it possible for business channels to succeed.  Maria Bartiromo was the first correspondent to report live every day from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. It is hard to believe that I have been watching CNBC that long. Bartiromo will also be joining Lou Dobbs at FBC, who she also worked previously with at CNBC.

Breaking: Maria Bartiromo is leaving CNBC to join Fox Business.

“After 20 years of groundbreaking work at CNBC, Maria Bartiromo will be leaving the company as her contract expires on November 24,” a CNBC spokesperson tells TVNewser. “Her contributions to CNBC are too numerous to list but we thank her for all of her hard work over the years and wish her the best.”

Drudge Report, which was first to report the news, says Bartiromo will anchor a daily FBN program during the market hours and also have a role on Fox News.

Why I love Maria Bartiromo and have watched her for years on CNBC. Watch the video below and her rip Democrat Senator Ben Cardin a new one for being disingenuous on tax reform and only wanting to tax the rich as an answer. As she says, “its your way or the highway”. And when the senator made the comment, next time let me answer the question, Maria responded and hit him over the head again by saying, “Oh you’ve answered. You have answered quite clearly”.

Maria Bartiromo’s statement on her leaving CNBC:

“After twenty great years of having a front row seat to some of the most important economic stories in the world, it’s hard to sum up the gratitude and appreciation I have for the team that helped make it happen. I am incredibly proud of what we have been able to accomplish. I want to thank all the people at CNBC who have been with me on this journey, and of course the viewers and investors everywhere for making me love every minute of it.”

From The New York Times:

Ms. Bartiromo is expected to work on a program about the day’s developments on Wall Street. Her new deal is also expected to include exposure on the far-more-watched Fox News. (Neither Fox outlet commented publicly on Monday about the hiring.)

The signing is a coup of sorts for Fox Business, which has struggled to establish a profile. Last week, Fox Business averaged fewer than 10,000 viewers in the group that attracts advertisers, those between the ages of 25 and 54. CNBC had more than three times as many with 31,000.

FOX News Prime Time Shake Up … Megyn Kelly to Take Hannity’s 9 PM Slot … Roger Ailes Says ‘All of Our Stars Will be Back’

BIG SHAKE UP ON PRIME TIME FOX NEWS SCHEDULE … MEGYN KELLY MOVES TO 9 PM.

According to the Drudge Report, FOX News is set to make their first change in their prime time schedule in 10 years. Megyn Kelly has landed the 9 PM time slot, previously held by Sean Hannity. This does not come as too much of a surprise as before Megyn Kelly went on maternity leave, she stated when she returned she would be leaving her day time show and moving to prime time.Well it appears she has landed the coveted 9 PM slot.

What a problem to have for FOX, some much talent and not enough time slots for them. This is also terrible news for the rest of the cable news networks like CNN and MSNBC, who already are a distant second and third. Tak about the rich getting richer. So why is FOX the #1 cable news network? They do not sit on their laurels and just bleed the current model until in fails. They are aware enough to realize that tweaks to their business and viewership model are needed to stay #1.  The joke of the day had to be from CNN’s Peirs Morgan. That’s right, who? Megyn Kelly will now be taking Pier’s on in the 9 PM hour which prompted Morgan to Tweet, “Bring it on”. Really? Dude, Piers, get a reality check … “It’s already been broughten”.

But do not let your heart be troubled, according to Roger Ailes, Hannity is going nowhere and all the FOX News stars will be back.  So is FOX prime time going to be from 7 to 11? Their line up will most likely be Greta Van Susteren 7-8, Bill O’Reilly 8-9, Megyn Kelly 9-10 and Sean Hannity 10-11.

The first question Cavuto asked was about the rumor, first reported on Drudge Report, that Megyn Kelly will me moving into the 9pmET time slot this Fall. “Generally, I don’t confirm or deny any rumors, and that is a rumor at the moment,” said Ailes, adding “all of our stars will be back.”

As for Hannity, who currently hosts the 9pm hour, Ailes said, “Hannity is a brand that many of our viewers love and want to see, and, as you know, is one of the nicest guys in the building.”

Hot Air has a bunch of possible mix and matches with time slots and who could be going where. It is incredible how with one slight change and so much talent on one cable news station just how much is affected as one domino knocks into the next.

Reeva Steenkamp’s Reality TV Show ‘Tropica Island of Treasure’ airs Following Her Valentine’s Day Death … Boyfriend Oscar Pistorius Charged with Murder

Haunting and prophetic broadcast of Reeva Steenkamp’s Reality TV Show ‘Tropica Island of Treasure’ airs in the wake of models murder.

The South African Broadcasting Corp. aired the reality TV program ”Tropika Island of Treasure” just days after the death of Reeva Steenkamp at the hands of  South African Olympic icon Oscar “the Blade Runner” Pistorius. Her boy friend Pistorius has been charged with murder.  According to accounts, Steenkamp told her family that she was very proud of being in the show and wanted them to watch it. However, the video that has been released is rather bizarre, haunting and eye opening as to the comments that she made making reference to your journey in life and how you exit is important. Wow, how prophetic.

“I think the way that you go out, not just your journey in life, but the way that you go out and the way you make your exit is so important,” Steenkamp says in the video. “You either made an impact in a positive or a negative way, but just maintain integrity and maintain class and just remain true to yourself.

“I’m going to miss you all so much and I love you very, very much.”

The South African Broadcasting Corp. aired the “Tropika Island of Treasure” program, showing the late Steenkamp — the victim of a Valentine’s Day shooting at the home of Pistorius, the Olympic star and double-amputee athlete. She is laughing and smiling, and blowing a kiss toward the camera in Jamaica when it was filmed last year.

SABC said it was dedicated to Steenkamp and displayed the words “Reeva Steenkamp 19 August 1983 – 14 February 2013″ between images of a rose and a candle in a short tribute before the show aired. She was also seen blowing the kiss as she sat on a Jamaican beach and her name again appeared on screen with the years of her birth and death.

The country was rocked Thursday when news broke of Steenkamp’s shooting death at the upscale house of the star athlete. Pistorius was arrested and charged with her murder and remains in custody in a police station. His family has strongly denied prosecutors’ claims that he murdered her.

Steenkamp’s family said earlier Saturday that it had not been contacted by either the SABC — South Africa’s national broadcaster — or the show’s producers for permission to air it, but were not opposed to it because Reeva wanted everyone to see it.
