Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz Wins The 2014 Value Voters Summit Presidential Straw Poll … Mocked MSM & PC Police with Undocumented White House Visitor Joke

America, if you really want to elect a true Conservative to turn the country around, you best get serious about Ted Cruz.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) wowed them at the 2014 Values Voters Summit and won the straw poll for the second year in a row. Ted Cruz won with 25%, former Johns Hopkins University neurosurgeon and political newbie Ben Carson came in second with 20%, while former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee  came in third, with 12%. Carson also came in first in the polling for vice president, winning 22% of the votes. Just a note to those at Value Voter Summit, Huckabee is not a conservative.

But Ted Cruz was the star of the show and had the crowd laughing with joke about the recent White House fence jumper, nailing the MSM, political correctness and illegal immigration all in one.

“We should hold the media to account. Because I will say in their reporting on this person who broke into the White House, they really have not used the politically correct term and we should insist that ABC, NBC, CBS, they refer to the visitor according to the term that is politically correct, an undocumented White House visitor.

The Hill:

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz won the Value Voters Summit presidential straw poll on Saturday.

The crowd burst onto applause on Saturday, as Family Research Council President Tony Perkins announced that Cruz won 25 percent of votes at the annual Washington conference.

The victory is a big victory to the Republican firebrand and Tea Party icon, coming just a day after he drew standing ovations with a religious and emotional speech that blasted ObamaCare, congressional Democrats and called for Republicans to take over the White House in 2016.

Cruz also won the straw poll in 2013.

Coming in second was neurosurgeon Ben Carson, a political novice who has a large following in conservative circles but said earlier this week that there is a “strong” likelihood that he would run for president. He won 20 percent of the votes.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) came in third, with 12 percent of the vote.

As a signal of Carson’s popularity at the summit, the former Johns Hopkins University neurosurgeon came in first in the polling for vice president, winning 22 percent of the votes.

Sharyl Attkisson Resigns From CBS … Had Grown Frustrated With the Network’s Liberal Bias

WHAT, CBS HAS A LIBERAL BIAS … SAY IT ISN’T SO!!!

CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has resigned from CBS News after two decades at the network.  As reported at The Politico, Attkisson had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network’s liberal bias, an outsize influence by the network’s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting. What, you mean there is a liberal bias in the MSM and a lack of investigative journalism, really? Didn’t she get the CBS memo that there was to be no investigative reporting on Barack Obama or Democrats that would go against MSM/Obama propaganda? Hmm, remember when her computer was hacked? But that was just a coincidence.

As Thomas Jefferson to Lafayette, 1823, “The only security of all is in a free press. The force of public opinion cannot be resisted when permitted freely to be expressed. The agitation it produces must be submitted to. It is necessary, to keep the waters pure.”

Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network’s liberal bias, an outsize influence by the network’s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt that her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air.

At the same time, Attkisson’s reporting on the Obama administration, which some staffers characterized as agenda-driven, had led network executives to doubt the impartiality of her reporting. She is currently at work on a book — tentatively titled “Stonewalled: One Reporter’s Fight for Truth in Obama’s Washington” — that addresses the challenges of reporting critically on the administration.

Feeling increasingly stymied and marginalized at the network, Attkisson began talking to CBS News President David Rhodes as early as last April about getting out of her contract. Those negotiations intensified in recent weeks, and her request was finally honored on Monday.

Newsbusters reminds us that Sharyl Attkisson kept the spotlight on Obama scandals like Benghazi and Fast and Furious. That must have endeared her to the liberal suits at CBS.

Sharyl Attkisson, whose coverage of the Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal won CBS Evening News an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2012, and also provided hard-hitting reporting on the September 2012 terrorist attacks on the U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, announced her sudden departure from CBS on Monday afternoon in a post on Twitter: “I have resigned from CBS.”

It is a shame that an accomplished investigative correspondent like Sharyl Attkisson would cited liberal bias at the network and an insufficient dedication to investigative journalism as a means as to why she would have to leave a network. The purpose of the media is to hold all accountable, no matter what political party they may lean toward. The PJ Tatler opines, but don’t worry, Attkisson won’t have a problem finding a job. Expect her reports to show up on Fox News eventually.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) Says Obamacare is a Disaster, Barack Obama Should Apologize to the American People For Causing 5 Million to Lose Their Insurance and Then Fix the Problem

This weekend on CBS’s ‘Face the Nation,’ Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)  urged President Barack Obama to use Tuesday’s State of the Union address to apologize to the American people and the 5 million Americans who lost their insurance as a result of Obamacare. Cruz said that the president  should look in the camera and say, “I’m sorry, I told you if you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it.  I told you if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, and that wasn’t true — I’m sorry.” Cruz then said that mere words are not enough, Obama should then fix the problem that he caused.

SEN. TED CRUZ (transcript):

But, you know, in terms of whether we should’ve stood and fought on Obamacare, I think the proof is in the pudding.  Millions of people across the country have seen now why we were standing and fighting, because Obamacare’s a disaster.

And, you know, for the State of the Union, one of the things President Obama really oughta do is look in the TV camera and say to the over five million Americans all across this country who’ve had their health insurance canceled because of Obamacare, to look in the camera and say, “I’m sorry.  I told you if you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it.

“I told you if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.  And that wasn’t true.  I’m sorry.”  But then, Bob, here’s the real kicker.  If you’re really sorry, you don’t just say you’re sorry.  You actually do something to fix the problem.  The pattern we’ve seen over and over again with this president is he says–

SEN. TED CRUZ: –he’s sorry and he expresses outrage but then he doesn’t fix the problem.  He keeps doing it over and over again.
