NYPD Officer 33 Year Old Randolph Holder Shot and Killed Pursuing a Suspect in Harlem (Update: Suspect Arrested)
WE ASK THE QUESTION AGAIN, DO POLICE LIVES MATTER … THE 4TH NYPD OFFICER KILLED IN THE LAST 11 MONTHS.
33 year old NYPD officer Randolph Holder was shot and killed while responding to an incident of a man with a gun in East Harlem, NY. Holder and his partner responded to a report of shots fired at East 102nd Street on the city’s Upper East Side where witnesses told the officers a man had fled on a foot path and where the suspect came across another man and stole his bicycle at gunpoint. Holder and his partner ran toward the danger, not away, but toward the danger. Shots were fired and sadly officer Holder was shot in the head and later died at Harlem Hospital. The suspect was shot in the leg and arrested. Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said during a somber press conference that Holder, who emigrated from Guyana, was a third-generation police officer, following in his father and grandfather’s footsteps in the line of duty.
Rest in Peace Officer Holder
A New York City police officer was shot and killed late Tuesday in the East Harlem section of the city after he responded to a report of shots fired and an armed robbery.
Police Commissioner Bill Bratton identified the murdered officer as Randolph Holder, 33, a five-year veteran of the force. Holder was an officer in the department’s Housing Bureau, which polices the city’s public housing developments.
“Tonight, he did what every other officer in the NYPD does,” Bratton said. “When the call comes, he ran toward danger. It was the last time he will respond to that call.”
Bratton said Holder and his partner responded to a report of shots fired at East 102nd Street on the city’s Upper East Side. Witnesses told the officers a man had fled on a foot path and the officers encountered another man who told them an assailant had stolen his bicycle at gunpoint. Bratton said the officers confronted the suspect and pursued him to the intersection of East 120th Street and the FDR Drive, where gunfire rang out. One witness told Fox 5 that she heard at least five shots.
Holder was shot in the forehead and rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:22 p.m. Dozens of uniformed and plainclothes officers lined the hospital hallway while other officers held each other as they arrived.

A manhunt has been launched after the shooting death of 31 year old Kentucky State Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder. The incident occurred Sunday night, 9/13, at approximately 10:20 pm CT after Trooper Ponder pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 24. The driver fled from the traffic stop where the pursuit ensued with the suspect stopping abruptly around the 49 mile marker when the suspect jammed on his breaks. The suspect then got out of his vehicle and fired several shots into the police cruiser. The suspect then fled on foot and is still at large. Trooper Ponder was taken to a hospital in Princeton, Kentucky, where he later died of his injuries.
Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder, 31, was killed after a driver fled from a traffic stop on Interstate 24 at 10:20 p.m. local time (11:20 p.m. ET).
“A pursuit ensued with the suspect stopping abruptly around the 49 mile marker, causing the front of Trooper Ponder’s police cruiser to make contact with the rear of the suspect vehicle,” Trooper First Class Jay Thomas said in a statement.
He added: “At this time, the driver of the suspect vehicle fired several shots into the police cruiser striking the hood, windshield and Trooper Ponder multiple times. The suspect fled the scene on foot.”
Rest in Peace Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder
UPDATE I: Shooting suspect identified the suspect as Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks.
The shooting suspect who murdered Kentucky state trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder has been identified as 25 year old Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The suspect has been identified as Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks, 25, of Missouri. He was described as a black male who is about 5-foot-5 inches and 140 pounds.
Police say he ran off after shooting Ponder. A search was under way Monday morning in Lyon County, Ky.
Johnson-Shanks’ hometown couldn’t immediately be verified by police, but online records show him living in the Florissant area. He was arrested twice in 2014 in the St. Louis area, once for destruction of property and once for interfering with a police officer.
A social media site that appears to be Johnson-Shanks’ features a photo collage of Martin Luther King, Malcom X and Michael Brown. He reposted photos of memorial sites for Michael Brown and others killed by police, asking “Why is it taking so long to arrest those officers.”
UPDATE II: Cops shoot and kill alleged gunman who murdered rookie Kentucky state trooper.
A man suspected of killing a Kentucky trooper was shot and killed by state police early Monday morning, police confirmed to FoxNews.com.
Authorities said 25-year-old Joseph Thomas Johnson-Shanks, of Missouri, was located in a remote rural area near I-24 around 7 a.m., following an all-night manhunt. Johnson-Shanks was armed with a handgun and did not comply with several commands to drop his weapon, according to Sgt. Mike Webb.
“That gave the trooper closest to him no choice but to fire his agency-issued weapon, striking him multiple times,” Webb said.

Aurora, CO Police Department On High Alert After Dispatch Operator Received Threatening Call to Shoot Police Officers
THE WAR ON POLICE CONTINUES AND BARACK OBAMA REMAINS SILENT … PRESIDENT OBAMA, DON’T POLICE OFFICERS LIVES MATTER, TOO?
The 911 call came into an Aurora, Colorado dispatcher at about 5:50 p.m. Sunday and it was far from a call for emergency help. Instead, the call from an anonymous individual was one of threats toward cops and promises to shoot police officers who are by themselves. The threatening call against police was followed by shots fired toward police in Aurora Sunday prompted a safety advisement for officers in Colorado.
Really, is this what it has come to in the war on police under the Barack Obama presidency? This crap must come to an end once and for all. If Barack Obama does not go on national TV and support police officers and the work that they go to protect and server and put an end to this nonsense, then he is for it. It is as simple as that. Either you are a President of the United States for the rule of law or you are a community agitator looking to cause unrest and violence. Make your choice Mr. President. No response will be considered your choice.
