Ingmar Guandique, Man Convicted of Murderering Washington Intern Chandra Levy Sentenced to 60 Years in Prison
Justice served … decades removed.
Ingmar Guandique, the man who was convicted of killing Washington intern Chandra Levy nearly a decade ago was sentenced to 60 years in proson. Guandique, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, had previously been convicted of first degree murder in Levy’s 2001 disappearance and death. It is hard to believe that Chandra Levy that it has been 10 years since the disappearance and death of Washington intern Chandra Levy dominated the news.
Chandra Levy was romantically linked to former US Rep. Gary Condit and the rumors and speculation was endless. However, following the discovery of Levy’s remains in Rock Creek Park, police began to look at Guandique who was already serving a prison sentence for attacking female joggers in the same park in the same time the intern went missing. However, Ingmar Guandique still proclaims his innocence.
Levy’s mother, Susan Levy, asked Guandique directly if he had been responsible for her daughter’s death. He shook his head.
“Mr. Guandique, you are lower than a cockroach,” Susan Levy told Guandique, before closing her statement with: “F… you.”
Guandique, wearing an orange prison jumpsuit, told the judge in Spanish that he was sorry for what happened. But, he added, “I had nothing to do with it. I am innocent.

More Education Madness, Virginia Teen Andrew Mikel II Suspended for Remainder of Year for Shooting Spitballs
Zero-tolerance = Infant Stupidity. Who knew that spitballs were a weapon? No wonder our schools are failing our children, they are being run by individuals with absolutely no common sense. Talk about the punishment not fitting the crime.
Andrew Mikel II, a freshman honor student at Spotsylvania High School in Virginia has been suspended for the remainder of the year for of all things, shooting spitballs in school. Originally the 14 year old high school freshman was suspended for 10 days for using a hollow body of a pen to blow small plastic balls at three students during his lunch period. Ok, seems rather juvenile for a freshman to do, but 10 days seems like a proper punishment and learning experience for this kid.
However, in their ultimate lack of common sense and appreciation of the punishment meeting the crime, the Spotsylvania County School Board later voted to extend the punishment for the rest of the school year, citing the Student Code of Conduct. To add insult to injury to this complete over the top reaction to “spitballs”, the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office which charged him with three counts of misdemeanor assault. Just curious, if they are charging the 14 year old with assault, why are they not also charging him with possession of a weapon?
The 14-year-old initially was hit with a 10-day suspension, but the Spotsylvania County School Board later voted to extend the punishment for the rest of the school year, citing the Student Code of Conduct’s requirement that a student found with “any type of weapon, or object used to intimidate, threaten or harm others” be “expelled for a minimum of 365 days” unless “special circumstances exist.”
The district also referred the case to the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, which charged him with three counts of misdemeanor assault.
Why is the Spotsylvania County School Board trying to ruin this kids life? It is rather obvious that “special circumstances” exist in this case. Are spitballs really a weapon and can you really harm or intimidate some one with a spitball? ARE THESE PEOPLE SERIOUS!!! One can certainly teach a kid a lesson without punishing them by taking their right to an education away from them. Then to be charged with assault. THESE PEOPLE HAVE TOTALLY LOST THEIR MINDS AND FOCUS.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik Faces Recall Bid Due to Bias Politcizing the Tucson, AZ Shooting
Do actions really have consequences in Tucson, AZ?
Will there be ramifications for Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik’s outspoken and inappropriate comments follwoing the Tucson, AZ shooting? Following the mass shooting that left 6 dead and 13 wounded including US Rep Gabby Giffords (AZ-D), Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik was quick to blame heated political rhetoric, prejudice & bigoty, and talk radio for the shooting.
The only problem was that there was no evidence pointing in that direction. Instead, Dupnik went on TV interview after TV interview providing only opinion. Hardly what is expected from a law enforcement officer.
Because of his actions, a group has begaun efforts to recall the sheriff in a special election. Although Dupnik is in a heavily Democrat district, all people really need to take a look at what the sheriff did and ask themselves whether they deem this appropriate of LE. Should a sheriff politicize a crime, instead of providing the facts of the case?
