CNN:

Citing Massachusetts law, prosecutors said they would ask that Chism be tried in an adult court.

“The indictments … detail horrific and unspeakable acts,” said District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett.

The armed robbery indictment alleges that Chism, armed with a box cutter, robbed Ritzer of credit cards, an iPhone and her underwear. The aggravated rape indictment alleges that he sexually assaulted her with an object.

Seventeen years after the nation was riveted by the unsolved murder of 6-year-old beauty-pageant queen JonBenet Ramsey, an indictment of her parents — which was kept secret and never prosecuted — will be released Friday.

It’s unclear what light the 18 pages of grand jury documents will shed on the mystery that spawned books, TV movies and countless theories about who killed the little girl found dead in the basement of her Colorado home on Dec. 26, 1996.

Scott Robinson, a prominent Denver defense lawyer who has followed the case for years, said the court papers probably include a statement of supporting facts that would “give us a sense of of what the grand jury was thinking when they saw the evidence available at that time.”

It will be interesting to see what is in these court documents, more to come …

Ex-New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez Indicted on First Degree Murder and Weapons Charges in Death of 27 Year Old Odin Lloyd (VIDEO)

Former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez was indicted today for the first degree murder of Odin Lloyd and weapons charges in a North Attleboro court house. Hernandez is expected to be arraigned on the charges in the coming weeks. Following today’s hearing, Hernandez defense attorney Michael Fee said that “there has been an incredible rush to judgment in this case” and said that he questioned whether prosecutors had enough evidence to prove that Hernandez shot and killed Odin Lloyd.

Afterward, Michael Fee, one of his attorneys, asserted that “there has been an incredible rush to judgment in this case” and said that he questioned whether prosecutors had enough evidence to prove that Hernandez shot and killed Lloyd, 27.

“On the evidence that we’re aware of today, we don’t believe it’s possible for the commonwealth to meet its burden,” Fee said outside the squad red brick courthouse.

From the AP:

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was indicted Thursday on first-degree murder and weapons charges in the death of a friend whose bullet-riddled body was found in an industrial park about a mile from the ex-player’s home.

The six-count grand jury indictment charges Hernandez with killing 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player from Boston who was dating the sister of Hernandez’s girlfriend.

Hernandez, 23, pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in June, and he is being held without bail.

He had a brief court appearance in Attleboro on Thursday afternoon. Afterward, his attorney Michael Fee said the defense was pleased to be on a path to a jury trial and was looking forward to testing the prosecution’s evidence.

If this indictment is not bad enough, Hernandez is also the subject of two other ongoing investigations, one into a double murder in Boston in 2012 and one in Florida in which a man has alleged that he was shot by the former player in February.

A federal grand jury today handed up a sweeping indictment of Boston Marathon bombings suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, charging him with using weapons of mass destruction and killing four people.

The 30-count indictment alleges that Tsarnaev had been inspired by Al Qaeda publications and left a confession in the boat where he was captured in a Watertown back yard.

In it, he said, “I don’t like killing innocent people” and noted that “it is forbidden” in Islam to do so, but he justified his actions as a response to US military action in Muslim countries, according to the indictment.

“The U.S. Government is killing our innocent civilians. …. I can’t stand to see such evil go unpunished. … We Muslims are one body, you hurt one, you hurt us all,” Tsarnaev allegedly wrote. “Stop killing our innocent people and we will stop.”

The indictment alleges that sometime before the bombings, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, downloaded different pieces of extremist Islamic propaganda from the Internet, including one that directed Muslims not to give their allegiances to governments that invade Muslim lands and another by Anwar al-Awlaki. Al-Awlaki is the American citizen who became a senior operative in Al Qaeda’s branch in Yemen and was killed in a 2011 drone strike.

From The Daily Caller: The Islamic organization that includes Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s mosque has ties to the al-Qaeda operative that reportedly inspired Tsarnaev to carry out the Boston Marathon terrorist attack.

A Cuyahoga County grand jury returned the indictment Friday against Ariel Castro, a former school bus driver fired last fall.

Castro, 52, is accused of kidnapping Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight and holding them captive along with a 6-year-old girl he fathered with Berry.

The grand jury charged Castro with two counts of aggravated murder related to one act, saying he purposely caused the unlawful termination of one of the women’s pregnancies. Castro also was indicted on 139 counts of rape, 177 counts of kidnapping, seven counts of gross sexual imposition, three counts of felonious assault and one count of possession of criminal tools.

Cuyahoga County prosecutor Tim McGinty said the indictment covers only the period from August 2002, when the first of the women disappeared, to February 2007.

The indictment refers to the women as Jane Doe 1, Jane Doe 2 and Jane Doe 3 and gives a glimpse into the circumstances of their captivity.

The aggravated murder counts stem from the unlawful termination of Jane Doe 1′s pregnancy in late 2006 or early 2007, the indictment says.

Ariel Castro was arrested May 6, 2013 after Amanda Berry was able to scape from Casto’s ‘House of Horrors’ by breaking through a door at the home, yelled to neighbors for help. She was able to borrow a cell phone from and tell the 911 operator, “Help me. I’m Amanda Berry. I’ve been kidnapped, and I’ve been missing for 10 years, and I’m, I’m here, I’m free now.”
