GOP Speaker Proposed Allowing Tax Rates on those Making $1 Million or More (UPDATE: Obama rejects Offer)
Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner has proposed allowing tax rates to rise for those individuals making $1 million or more. Of course this tax hike is conditional on President Obama agreeing to major entitlement cuts. This will likely go no where as any honest thing person knows that the revenues from tax increases on individuals making $250K as Obama wanted would only fund the government for 8 days, $1 million would probably fund the government for three.
$1 million dollars!!!
Speaker John Boehner has proposed allowing tax rates to rise for the wealthiest Americans if President Barack Obama agrees to major entitlement cuts, according to several sources close to the talks.
It is the first time Boehner has offered any boost in marginal tax rates for any income group, and it would represent a major concession for the Ohio Republican. Boehner suggested hiking the Bush-era tax rates for top wage earners, including those with annual incomes of $1 million or more annually, beginning Jan. 1, two sources said.
UPDATE I: Barack Obama rejects Speakers offer. Obama will not be happy until he gets it all his way. And he knows the wuss Boehner will cave.
President Barack Obama is not ready to accept a new offer from the Republican leader of the U.S. the House of Representatives to raise taxes on top earners in exchange for major cuts in entitlement programs, a source said late Saturday.

Democrat State Representative Douglas Geiss Stated “There Will Be Blood” Debating ‘Right to Work’ on Michigan House Floor …
What every happened to tolerance from the LEFT? I thought Democrats were for choice.
Democrat State Representative Douglas Geiss said, “There will be Blood” if the ’Right to Work’ law was passed during the debate on the Michigan House floor. Really? A Democrat state elected official is predicting and in many respects calling for violence if Michigan workers are not provided freedom of choice? Geiss went on to say that he wishes we had not gone here. Hmm, You mean providing “ALL” workers the right to choose whether they want or do not want to belong to a union? That seems a lot more American than threatening violence if you do not get your way.
“There will be blood,” State Representative Douglas Geiss threatened from the floor of the Michigan House of Representatives today as the body debated legislation that would make Michigan the nation’s 24th right to work state.
“I really wish we had not gone here,” Geiss continued. “It is the leadership in this house that has led us here. The same leadership that tried to throw a bomb right on election day, leading to a member switching parties, and came in at the 11th hour with a gotcha bill. For that, I do not see solace, I do not see peace.”
Sadly, thanks to Geiss’s grandstanding and prediction of no peace … there was none yesterday as out of control union thugs threatened and physically harmed those who dare have an alternative opinion.
House Democrats also tweeted, “There will be Blood”. It was then taken down but not before it was captured for all time.
As reported at Weasel Zippersvia the Washington Examiner, The Obama White House refused to condemn the “there will be blood” comments. Of course not, how could Obama, so beholden to the unions possibly condemn any Democrat standing for union labor no matter if there was threats or not. Instead, they make excuses.
President Obama’s spokesman cited the ambiguity of the statement, “there will be blood,” as he avoided condemning the remark made by a Michigan Democrat who opposes the imminent state’s right-to-work legislation.
“The president believes in debate that’s civil,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said today. “I haven’t seen those comments and I’m not sure that they mean what some would interpret them to mean. I just haven’t seen them.”
Update I: The MI House has passed the right-to-work law, 58-51.

Allen West for President in 2016?
RUN ALLEN, RUN!!!
If you thought you have seen the last of Col. Allen West, think again. Former US Rep. Allen West (FL-R) was interviewed by NPR and hinted to what his future plans may be. Hinted, hmm … West’s hint was as subtle as a sledgehammer, “And always remember, Abraham Lincoln only served one term in Congress, too.” I would dare say that Allen West has more in common with Lincoln than does the current occupant of the White House.
MARTIN: So what’s next for you?
WEST: Look, you know, God closes a door so that he can open up greater doors. I will continue to, you know, stand up and fight for this country. That’s my goal. I have two daughters, 19 and 16, and I want to make sure that they grow up in a great America that provides them all the opportunities that it provided to their mother and father.
MARTIN: Congressman Allen West is completing his term in Congress. He was kind enough to join us from a House recording studio on Capitol Hill here in Washington, D.C.
WEST: And always remember, Abraham Lincoln only served one term in Congress, too.
MARTIN: Duly noted. Congressman West, thank you so much for speaking with us.
The Lonely Conservative is not the only one who hopes he runs. I am guessing the MSM and Democrats will still call the individuals racist for voting for West as well. I can’t wait for the MSM to embrace Allen West for President like they did Barack Obama.

US Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr (IL-D) Resigns from Congress
US Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. (IL-D) resigns from Congress amid reports that he is being investigated by the Justice Department for allegedly misusing campaign donations for his personal use. Jackson has been absent from the Congress for months while undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder at the Mayo Clinic; however, that did not stop voters from some how reelecting him to office. So what will Jackson’s selfish act of not resigning prior to the 2012 election so that a new rep could have been normally elected mean to Illinois? According to ABC News, Jackson’s resignation could cost Illinois tax payers $5.1 million. Nice.
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) submitted a letter announcing his resignation from Congress to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Wednesday, according to a Boehner aide.
“For seventeen years I have given 100 percent of my time, energy, and life to public service,” Jackson wrote.
“However, over the past several months, as my health has deteriorated, my ability to serve the constituents of my district has continued to diminish. Against the recommendations of my doctors, I had hoped and tried to return to Washington and continue working on the issues that matter most of the people of the Second District. I know now that will not be possible.”
Jackson’s resignation comes amid reports that he is being investigated by the Justice Department for allegedly misusing campaign donations.
One really has to ask why Jesse Jackson Jr. did not step down sooner and save the tax payers of Illinois the grief, aggravation and money of a special election. Then again, I have to question an electorate that would vote back in a guy who was AWOL and under the scope of a federal investigation due to his personal use of campaign donations. I guess both Illinois and Jackson get what they deserve.
97 GOP House Representatives Send Obama Letter Not to Nominate Susan Rice as Secretary of State
GOP URGES OBAMA NOT TO NOMINATE SUSAN RICE …
So will President Barack Obama waste political capital in a battle for the nomination of Susan Rice as Secretary of State? It is an issue of his own making in sending out Rice on five network Sunday political talk shows and misleading the American public. The question remains as to whether Obama will look to pick a fight with the GOP out of the box or do the right thing for America and select a more reasonable individual to nominate. Of course the LEFT will call this a war on woman and racism, rather than the obvious case that she helped mislead the American public with regards to the attack on the Benghazi, Libya consulate and the death of four Americans.
Ninety-seven House Republicans sent Barack Obama a letter urging the president not to nominate UN Ambassador Susan Rice as the next Secretary of State. The Gateway Pundit has just one of the many videos of Rice on the Sunday morning talk shows aiding the Obama administration in their campaign of disinformation prior to the 2012 Presidential election.
Nearly 100 House Republicans on Monday called on President Obama not to nominate Susan Rice as secretary of State.
In a letter to Obama, the 97 Republicans said the credibility of the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations has been gravely wounded by her account of the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Though Ambassador Rice has been our representative to the U.N., we believe her misleading statements over the days and weeks following the attack on our embassy in Libya that led to the deaths of Ambassador [Christopher] Stevens and three other Americans caused irreparable damage to her credibility both at home and around the world,” Republicans wrote in their letter, which was spearheaded by Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) and sent to Obama on Monday.
The Obama White House has denied editing the talking points that Rice took forth to the public and spewed the company line that the attacks were the result of a video tape rather than terrorism. All this while Barack Obama, the CIA, et all knew was a lie. It is pretty obvious to many that the White House and Obama are playing games with the American people with Benghazi.
The real question is when it comes to Susan Rice, does anyone really want someone who would buy a story that the Benghazi attack was the result of a video?
