GOP House Looks To Put Delay on Obamacare Individual Mandate … Or Does Obama & Democrats Only Want to Protect Business?

WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BARACK OBAMA’S FAIRNESS TO THE PEOPLE?

What’s good for the goose, should also be good for the gander. Or in this case, what the employers have been granted in a delay in the employer mandate should also be provided to individuals.

Speaker John Boehner and House Republicans are looking to protect average Americans as President Barack Obama has taken the side of “big” business with regards to Obamacare. House Republicans are asking for the same one year delay for “We the People” in the individual Obamacare mandate as Obama has granted to employers. Of course the fact that Barack Obama is not allowed to just arbitrarily extend one part of a law and not the whole thing is another issue.   Speaker John A. Boehner stated, “Is it fair for the president of the United States to give American businesses an exemption from his health care law’s mandates without giving the same exemption to the rest of America? Hell no, it’s not fair.” Polls show that Americans overwhelming are for a delay in the “individual mandate” … so will Obama only benefit business and not the people?

Boehner & Cantor discuss the unfairness of Obama in benefiting business, but not individuals.

House Republican leaders on Tuesday seized on the Obama administration’s one-year delay of a mandate for larger employers to offer health insurance or face penalties, demanding the same postponement for the mandate on individual insurance purchases and promising a series of showdowns aimed at dividing Democrats from the White House.

After more than two years of voting repeatedly and unsuccessfully to repeal the health care law, Republicans believe they are getting traction thanks to what they see as the Obama administration’s self-inflicted wound over the employer mandate.

House leaders began devising strategies that would most likely start this month with multiple votes, the first to codify the one-year delay on the employer mandate, then another to demand a delay on the individual mandate. They calculate that Democrats would first vote to back the administration’s decision, and would then have a hard time opposing the second measure. Some Republicans raised the possibility that a provision to repeal the individual mandate could be attached this fall to legislation raising the government’s statutory borrowing limit.

Even some Democrats are livid at Barack Obama for being one-sided in their protection against the train wreck known as Obamacare.  As reported at the Weekly Standard, Democratic senator Tom Harkin, who’s retiring at the end of this term, had some blunt words for the Obama administration over the recent change to Obamacare … “This was the law. How can they change the law?” Good question, he can’t. Barack Obama and the Democrats have been put into a box … Do Democrats side with the unpopular Obama legislation from a lame duck president or “We the People”. How peeved do they want to make the voters?

Rep. Trey Gowdy (SC-R) Rips into IRS Officials as he Fights Back Tears During Congressional Hearing

THE IRS SCANDAL … A CHARACTER ISSUE.

US Representative Trey Gowdy (SC-R) owns the room as he rips into the wasteful spending of the IRS as he fights back the tears at yesterdays Congressional Oversight Committee . Everyone, no matter what your political affiliation is needs to watch this. It is the reason why the abuses of the IRS affect everyone. Not only did this rogue government agency abuse its power and purposely targeted conservative and Tea Party organizations, but they also wasted the hard earned tax payer dollars on lavish conventions. Gowdy tells the story of a secretary in his office who asked him to borrow money for a birthday gift for her child, all the while that the IRS was spending $3500 a night on hotel rooms. As people are losing their jobs, homes and health insurance the IRS was spending $4,000,0000 at conferences.

Much more and many Tweets from Twitchy.

The Gateway Pundit brings up a great point, how is Trey Gowdy not primary challenging Lindsey Graham in the South Carolina GOP Senate race?

Former Miss America Erika Harold to Run for Congress for Illinois’s 13th Congressional District as a Republican

Here she comes … Miss Illinois’s 13th Congressional District.

Erika Harold, former Miss America is running for Congress in the GOP primary for Illinois’s 13th Congressional District as a Republican.  WKSD reports, 33 year old Harold says her priorities will be promoting conservative principles and encouraging economic growth and says she believes she can help expand the party’s voting base and reach people who don’t traditionally vote Republican. Just one problem with that, the seat is currently held by Republican, freshman Rodney Davis. So it would appear that individuals in her district do vote Republican. We shall see what happens, we wish her the best.

For the former Miss America who just jumped into the race for Illinois’s 13th Congressional District, the Republican primary might be, well, a bit like a beauty pageant.

She calls her opponent, an incumbent freshman, a “good person,” insists there’s no need for attacks, and says let the judges, no, make that the voters, decide.

Harold, 33 and single, is a Harvard-educated attorney, a born-and-bred local and was a delegate to the 2004 Republican National Convention. She won the Miss America crown in 2003.

Harold, who announced her bid to take on Davis on Tuesday, says she has no problem with the attention on her pageant past. In fact, she says, it’s one of the things that make her qualified to serve in Congress.

Hmm, you know what seems to be absent from the reporting by the MSM of Erika Harold, who is a Republican?  She’s black. Personally, I do not believe it should make any difference about one skin color, as it is “about the content of one’s character.” However, back when she won Miss America, it was referenced. So why not now? Check out from BET, black beauty queens.  Could it be because the MSM does not want to report to the public that GOP actually has ethnicity? I just wonder if Erika Harold does win her primary and goes to Congress, if the MSM will still refer to her as she’s “got beauty, and, good golly, the brains to match?”

Powerline has some personal observations of Erika Harold.

And They’re Singing Like Canaries … US Rep. Darrell Issa (CA-R) on CNN’s State of the Union, Cincinnati IRS employees say direction came from Washington

IRSGATE: GOING ROGUE … ROGUE IRS EMPLOYEES SINGING LIKE CANARIES …

As Nancy Grace would say, BOMBSHELL TONIGHT OR TODAY, in this case. As reports at The Daily Mail, interviews with IRS employees have established that the Washington, D.C. headquarters of the Internal Revenue Service was engaged in targeting Tea Party groups and other conservative organizations for unfair levels of scrutiny when applying for tax-exempt status, as liberal organizations were fast-tracked. We are starting to see linkage from the Cincinnati IRS office where supposedly only a few rogue agents were to blame for the IRS scandal to the Washington, DC office. The dots are beginning to be connected. Hmm, according to IRS workers interviewed, their targeting began in early 2010. This is much early than we have been previously been told. Wake Up America has a partial of the Q and A of the interviews.

Rep. Darrel lssa, chairman of powerful House Committee of Oversight and Government Reform, made that startling announcement on CNN Sunday morning.

‘As late as last week,’ he said, ‘the [Obama] administration was still trying to say the [IRS targeting scandal] was from a few rogue agents in Cincinnati, when in fact the indication is that they were directly being ordered from Washington.’

A committee spokesman sent MailOnline partial transcripts of two interviews with unnamed IRS workers about the agency’s actions in early 2010, on whose testimony Issa based his bombshell statement.

One of those interviewees said it was ‘impossible’ for a few IRS agents to have orchestrated such widespread partisan targeting on their own.

The Full CNN interview with Issa and Candy Crowley can be seen below:

“As late as last week the administration’s still trying to say there’s a few rogue agents in Cincinnati when in fact the indication is they were directly being ordered from Washington.”

From CNN:

In an exclusive interview Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley, Republican Rep. Darrell Issa said interviews with workers in the Cincinnati IRS office show targeting of conservative groups was “a problem that was coordinated in all likelihood right out of Washington headquarters - and we’re getting to proving it.”

“My gut tells me that too many people knew this wrongdoing was going on before the election, and at least by some sort of convenient, benign neglect, allowed it to go on through the election,” he said. “I’m not making any allegations as to motive, that they set out to do it, but certainly people knew it was happening.”

A bipartisan group of investigators from two House committees – Ways and Means, and Government Reform and Oversight – interviewed two front-line employees from the tax-exempt office last week.

One of the employees hit back against accusations that lower-level employees were responsible for the scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status in 2010, telling congressional investigators that the Ohio employees were being “thrown underneath the bus.”

A second “more senior” Cincinnati IRS employee said they began seeking other jobs when they were assigned to look out for applications from tea party groups, because they felt it was inappropriate.

US Rep. Darrell Issa (CA-R) Calls Jay Carney a “Paid Liar” for the Obama Administration … “This is a problem that was in all likelihood right out of Washington headquarters.”

ISSA CALLS THE IRS SCANDAL FOR WHAT IT PROBABLY IS … “coordinated in all likelihood right out of Washington headquarters”.

This morning on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ with Candy Crowley, Representative Darell Issa (CA-R) called White House spokesman Jay Carney a “PAID LIAR” for the Obama administration. OUCH!!! Well, if the paid lair fits, wear it. Issa took the gloves off and called it for what the IRS scandal looks like and is. Issa stated that “the reason why Lois Lerner tried to take the 5th is not because there is a rogue in Cincinnati. It’s because problem that was coordinated in all likelihood right out of Washington headquarters and we’re getting to prove it. We have 18 more transcribed interviews.

Crowley then tried to defend the Obama White House, as she did during the 2012 presidential debate between Romney and Obama, by saying that you don’t have the direct, definitive link, even though the front line agents believed and thought their directives came from Washington, DC. The SS Obama is taking on water and sinking.

From The Politico:

The chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee blasted White House press secretary Jay Carney on Sunday, calling him a “paid liar” who is not being truthful about the scandal at the Internal Revenue Service.

“Their paid liar, their spokesperson, the picture behind, he’s still making up things about what happened and calling this a local rogue,” Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), said on CNN’s “State of the Union,” gesturing to a graphic of Carney on the set.

“This is a problem that was in all likelihood right out of Washington headquarters,” Issa said. “We’re getting to proving it.”

Issa said the White House is not being truthful or forthcoming about the scandal.

“The president’s spokesman – spokesperson – is saying whatever’s convenient at the time. The story changes,” Issa said.

“What we have is people who have to come in and transcribe interviews. They’re saying under penalty of crimes that certain things are true. We have subpoenaed documents that would support that that they say emails went back and forth,” Issa said. “We will learn the whole truth.”
