New Obama Political Tone … Minority Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi Says GOP Speaker Boehner Went to the Dark Side

This must be more of that new tone in Washington DC that Barack Obama has been talking about.

In yet another example of that Obama new tone “Inside the Beltway,” House Democrat Minority leader Nancy Pelosi states that GOP House Speaker John Boehner has gone to the “Dark Side”.  Such comments will do wonders for getting an agreement in the debt ceiling debate.Rather interesting comments coming from the Sith Lord or is it the Wicked Witch of the West, Pelosi. Once again the Democrats bring out their old tired playbook, when losing the debate and being forced to give up liberal principles like raising taxes, hurl personal insults instead.

Right before the House voted to reject a Democratic debt-ceiling plan, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi didn’t mince words.

Pelosi pulled out a Star Wars reference on the House floor, saying that Speaker John Boehner “chose to go to the dark side” and court the most conservative members of his conference, rather than work on a bipartisan compromise.

“It’s time for us to end this theater of the absurd,” she said. “It’s time for us to get real.”

Obamanomics: Its All About the Politics, Not the Economy … Geithner Says Debt Deal Must Remove Default Threat Through 2012 Election

THE DEMOCRATS ARE NOW THE “PARTY OF NO” …

If Democrats & Republicans cannot come to an agreement on a debt limit solution, let WE THE PEOPLE decide in the 2012 elections.

When it comes to the debt limit debate, the Obama administration seems to care more about the politics of the issue than the effects of it on the economy of the United States. One would think that all options should be on the table. If  the two sides cannot come to an agreement, then a short term deal should be put in place and then let the 2012 elections be the decider and “WE THE PEOPLE” will vote as to what we want as a solution. However, this is not the case with the partisan Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, as he only wants the “take default off the table for the next 18 months … through the election.”

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner showed little enthusiasm for a two-tiered debt-limit vote being discussed in Congress Sunday, saying it “makes no sense” to leave the threat of default hanging until the next election.

Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Geithner reinforced President Obama’s position that any proposal from Congress needs to “take default off the table for the next 18 months … through the election.”

What is Geithner and President Barack Obama afraid of? Seriously, if Congress cannot come to a deal and the President refuses to show any leadership, as he has basically been taken out of the mix in the talks, then pass a short term deal and let the 2012 elections and the voice of the American voters be the determination as to how debt reduction should occur. Elections are supposed to have consequences. Let that be one of them of the 2012 elections. GOP Speaker of the House stated this morning on Fox News Sunday that the House would be releasing a new plan. However, the Democrats and Obama seem to be showing a lack of leadership and appear to be the “Party of No.”

More Obama paritan talk came from Geithner on ABC News ‘This Week with Christiane Amanpour.’ One would think that Geithner’s concern would be the economy, not being Obama’s parrot. Why is it  a test for Republican leaders in Congress, I thought the buck was supposed to stop with the President?

On ABC News’ This Week with Christiane Amanpour, Geithner added that “this is a critical test for the American political system.  It’s a critical test for Congress and for the Republican leaders in Congress, because the eyes of the world are on us.”

Golf Summit: Obama Invites Speaker Boehner to Play Golf … Maybe Both Need to Leave Office

EVER WONDER WHY SO MANY SAY … GET RID OF THEM ALL ?

Are you serious … after all the comments that President Barack Obama has golfed 60+ times while the economy stinks, while unemployment has been at 9%, while people are out of work, losing their homes and businesses … GOP Speaker of the House Boehner will accept a golfing invite?

UNREAL … A GOLF SUMMIT??? It is obvious that both Obama and Boehner need to be retired in 2012 and a fresh start for America is needed. How could Boehner allow himself to fall for such an obvious trap by Obama? This really shows just how out of touch all of the establishment politicians really are, Dem or GOP. Does Baohner not comprehend that going golfing while supposedly doing the work opf the American people is no badge oh honor? The United Sates has real issues so the leaders of the two parties will discuss them over golf.  That’s the ticket … Let’s go Golfing.

President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) will finally hit the links for a round of golf – and al fresco negotiation – on June 18, a White House official told POLITICO.

Obama’s offer — and Boehner’s acceptance — comes six months after White House press secretary Robert Gibbs suggested the bipartisan pair could work out their differences on the course. Both men are passionate golfers; Obama prefers to hit public courses with a handful of friends and White House staffers while Boehner favors private courses, golf fundraisers and schmoozing sessions with other pols.

Word of the golf summit also came on a day when Boehner blasted the president for failing to get more directly involved in tense bipartisan talks over the budget and debt ceiling.

A note to the GOP … get a new Speaker in 2012 otherwise you will lose. Does the tool Boeghner realize he hs just legitmized Obama’s golfing instead of doing the work of the people? Thanks crybaby. Americans are sick and tired of this inside the Beltway BS. What will come of the Golf Summit?  Will Obama call multiple Mulligans … will Boehner cry when he does.

We have serious issues in this country and it calls for serious people to take them seriously. This is not it.

Geithner Says Republicans Have Already Promised to Increase the Debt Ceiling

This morning on ABC’s “This Week”Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says he is certain that Congress will raise the debt ceiling. Geithner stated that Republicans have said that the GOP said this to the president on Wednesday … ”I sat there with them, and they said, we recognize we have to do this. And we’re not going to play around with it.”

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says he is certain that Congress will raise the debt ceiling, saying leaders are “not going to play around with it” and risk the “catastrophic” consequences of defaulting on the nation’s debt obligations.

“I want to make it perfectly clear that Congress will raise the debt ceiling,” Geithner said in an interview with ABC News “This Week” anchor Christiane Amanpour. When asked if he was sure, Geithner responded, “absolutely,” adding that Congressional leaders made clear they understood the importance of the matter when meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House last Wednesday.

An 11th Hour Budget Deal Struck … There Will be no Government Shutdown

Budget deal made, government shut down averted …

GOP House Speaker John Boehner has done what previous Democrat controlled House Speaker Pelosi, Democrat Senate Majority Leader and Democrat President Barack Obama could not do last year. Boehner managed to get a budget passed in spite of Democrats. Sadly, Democrats last year thought it not in their interest to pass a budget when they controlled both the House Senate and Presidency.  As the Politico reports:

After a long day of trading offers, the White House and House Republicans reached agreement Friday night on a budget framework that would cap 2011 appropriations near or below $1.050 trillion while cutting domestic and foreign aid by more than $40 billion from the rate of spending at the beginning of this Congress.

Behind the closed doors of special meeting of the Republican Conference, Speaker John Boehner presented the package to his party as at least an agreement in principle and said at one point: “We have a deal.” The Senate should now feel confident enough to move ahead with a stop gap spending bill to avert—or at least shorten—any shutdown beginning at midnight.

Initially Reed and Democrats did not want $1 dollar of any spending cuts. In the end they wound up with a deal to cut about $38 billion in federal spending. In the end it appears that the Tea Party was victorious in the end. However, there needs to be serious action to take on the national debt. It would appear that Harry Reed and Barack Obama were handed their hat this evening. Now wait until the debt ceiling vote.

The only great news of the night for Barack Obama is … he gets to go on yet another vacation now.
