US Representative Eric Massa (NY-D) to Resign from Office in Wake of Sexual Harassment Scandal
From not seeking reelection to resignation in just days. Democrats are scrambling to rid themselves of the scandal, which seems to lately be a theme with the Dems and Pelosi’s most ethical House ever.
Looks like Nancy Pelosi needs to drain her own swamp before she points the finger at others.
Democrat US House Representative Eric Massa will resign from office. According to reports, Massa has been pressured by Democrats to set aside in amid an ethics controversy regarding the sexual harassment of a male staffer that caused him to announce earlier this week that he would not run for a second term in 2010.
In a statement released Friday, Massa directly addressed the ethics issue for the first time, acknowledging that he used language that might have made staffers uncomfortable. But he did not specifically address any specific sexual harassment allegations.
“I own this reality. There is no doubt in my mind that I did in fact, use language in the privacy of my own home and in my inner office that, after 24 years in the Navy, might make a Chief Petty Officer feel uncomfortable,” Massa said. “In fact, there is no doubt that this Ethics issue is my fault and mine alone. But in the incredibly toxic atmosphere that is Washington D.C., with the destruction of our elected leaders having become a blood sport, especially in talk radio and on the internet, there is also no doubt that an Ethics investigation would tear my family and my staff apart.”
Massa admits, he is guilty …
“I can’t subject my family and staff to a full investigation,” Massa said. “It would tear us apart … It’s not that I can fight or beat these allegations, I’m guilty.”
Real Clear Politics has Massas’ full resignation.

More Democrat Flies Dropping … US Rep (MA-D) William Delahunt Will Not Seek Re-election to Congress
How is that “Hopee, Changee” thing working out for Democrat politicians? Another one bites the dust … The Scott Brown effect continues in Massachusetts and Democrats running for the retirement hills in the wake of the Obama agenda and the backlash of 2010.
Seven term Massachusetts Democrat William Delahunt has announced that he will not seek reelection in 2010. Delahunt claims that his reasons for ending his 40 year career is not political. Of course it’s not. Delahunt said that “Life is about change.” I guess Obama’s “hope and change” is not what the Massachusetts Congressman had expected.
Of course Delahunts departure from Congress has nothing to do with the backlash against the Obama agenda, the Scott Brown Senate win where Brown carried his disctric by 60% in the Bay State or his ties to Amy Bishop, the college professor in Alabama who gunned down three colleagues and in 1986 killed her brother in Massachusetts.
Representative William Delahunt will not seek re-election to Congress, the seven-term Democrat will announce tomorrow, ending a nearly 40-year career in elected office and giving Republicans hope of capturing the seat, which stretches from Cape Cod to the South Shore.
“It’s got nothing to do with politics,” the Quincy Democrat said today. “Life is about change. I think it’s healthy. It’s time.”
The 68-year-old lawmaker said he has been considering leaving the House for several years, but was talked out of it two years ago by the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy, who convinced his friend he should stay and help President Obama with his first-term agenda.
Red State asks the obvious question … who should we target NEXT!

Another Dem Politician in Hot Water … Eric Massa to Retire, Health or Sexual Harassment?
RUT-ROH, more headaches for Democrats is Washington.
It’s a he said, he said situation for Democrat Representative Eric Massa. It was reported that Massa is retiring due to sexual harassment allegations made by a male staffer. According to the Politico, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) confirmed that they knew about the allegations prior to the story going public.
But several House aides told POLITICO that the House ethics committee has been informed of allegations that the New York Democrat, who is married with two children, made unwanted advances toward a junior male staffer.
A more senior staffer — Ronald Hikel, Massa’s former deputy chief of staff and legislative director — took the complaints to the ethics committee and was interviewed about them twice.
Hikel declined to comment about the situation, but House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) confirmed that the Democratic leadership had been informed of the allegations before the news broke.
US Representative Eric Massa (D-NY) has denied that he’s retiring from Congress amid allegations that he sexually harassed a Congressional aide.

PPP: Obama Polling Disaster … States from RED to BLUE back to RED
WOW, OBAMA IS A PRESIDENTIAL LIABILITY TO DEMOCRATS …
From Public Policy Polling comes more disastrous polling numbers for President Barack Hussein Obama. Obama has been losing the moderate and Independent vote for months now as they oppose him on pretty much every one of his policies.
Obama and his minions can ignore the polling data all they want, this November’s midterm election appear to be historic for the loss of Senate & House seats. Through in the governorships as well as state houses and Obama, you got a huge problem.
Barack Obama now has a negative approval rating in every state he flipped from the Bush column to his in 2008. In each of those places his level of support is now in the 44-46% range. It’s probably a good thing he doesn’t have to run for reelection this year.
As HOT AIR points out, Barack Obama’s approval ratings are negative in every RED state he carried in 2008.There are nine states in all; however, many of these states have US Senate races in 2010 where Democrats find themselves in serious trouble. and all US House seats are up for election.
- In Colorado a recent Rasmussen poll found his approval at 45/53. Research 2000 found his favorability at 46/47 in January. [Republican challenger Lieutenant Governor Jane Norton. Norton leads Bennet 51% to 37%]
- In Florida Rasmussen found his approval at 45/54 and Quinnipiac’s latest found it at 45/49. [Republican Senate challengers up big over Democrat.]
- In Indiana Rasmussen has his approval at 44/54 and Research 2000 finds his favorability at 46/49. [ Hostettler and Coats are both up big over the Democrats challengers after Bayh quits. ]

More Obama Hope & Change” Majority of Americans Think Government is Broken
America, how is that “Hopee, Changee” thing working out for ya?
Just some words of wisdom to those in the US government, “We the People” have a way of fixing the problems of Washington, DC when we feel there is taxation without representation.
A majority of Americans believe that the government is broken. 81% of Americans according to a new CNN poll believe that the US government is broken; however, 81% believe it can be fixed. Did Obama promise he was going to change the way things are done in Washington during the campaign? Don’t ask for things America, they might just come true. The change may be for the worse.
Americans overwhelmingly think that the government in this country is broken, according to a new national poll. But the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey, released Sunday morning, also indicates that the public overwhelmingly holds out hope that what’s broken can be fixed.
Eighty-six percent of people questioned in the poll say that our system of government is broken, with 14 percent saying no. Of that 86 percent, 81 percent say that the government can be fixed, with 5 percent saying it’s beyond repair.
The 86% of Americans believing that the government is broken is up 8% points from 2006, the GWB years. Imagine that, Americans feel that the US government is more broken under Barack Hussein Obama than during Gorge W. Bush. What happened to that candidate that was going to reach across the aisle and bring change to DC?
The LEFT would want you to believe that this is all the fault of Republicans and disregard what the people are saying. The Washington Monthly stated that Democrats should do what ever it takes, “reconciliation, nuclear option, anything — to get the legislative process moving again.”
Obama’s ‘Chicago mafia’ blamed for paralysis at the top
The president and his team now find themselves under fire for mishandling Congress from everyone from senior Democrats to social columnists. Critics say that by failing to move on from the “us versus them” feeling of the Obama election campaign, they have united an opposition that was in disarray. The result is legislative paralysis despite the biggest Democratic majority in 30 years.
