Border Patrol Agents Vote No to Chief Over Jailing of Agents
As has been covered at Scared Monkeys and on Dana Pretzer’s Radio Show, Border Patrol agents have been up in arms over the treatment, arrest, and jailing of Border Patrol agents serving time for shooting a drug smuggling illegal alien.
Now the National Border Patrol Council, which represents the 11,000 agents have now had a No Confidence vote on Chief David V. Aguilar. The border agents have had enough of the politically motivated head of the agency that essentially has sacrificed these two agents to appease the Mexican government and those that are advocates of rights for illegal aliens.
In a unanimous decision agreed to on Sunday, the top leadership of the National Border Patrol Council lambasted Aguilar for his silence on behalf of Ignacio Ramos, 37, and Jose Alonso Compean, 28. The two are serving 11 and 12 year prison sentences, respectively, as a result of testimony given by a a drug-smuggler who claimed his civil rights were violated when he was shot in the buttocks trying to run across the Mexico border after dropping 743 pounds of marijuana during their pursuit of him. via FOXNews.com
2 Shot on Mexico Border, Article Buries Likely Culprits
Got to love Reuters. As you read this article about a human smuggler getting his car shot up on the border you naturally would assume that it was done by a band of roving redneck racists or rogue border agents.
Unknown gunmen fired on a truck packed with suspected illegal immigrants in southern Arizona early on Friday, killing two people and wounding a third, police said. The gunmen killed a man and a woman traveling in a pickup truck near Green Valley, some 30 miles south of Tucson, Pima County Sheriff’s Department said.
Spokeswoman Dawn Barkman said the dead were believed to be Mexican immigrants traveling with three family groups from the poor southern Mexican state of Chiapas.Barkman said two children were among at least 14 people packed into the extended-cab pickup truck.
But then you get to the meat of the matter buried at the end of the article. That key phrase is “increased violence among smugglers”.
Police say increased security on the U.S.-Mexico border has made human trafficking a more profitable activity, resulting in increased violence among smugglers. A smuggling ring that Arizona police say flew thousands of illegal immigrants across the United States from the Phoenix area was busted earlier this week with 16 people indicted, authorities said on Thursday. Reuters.com.
So only if you read to the end of the article do you recognize that smugglers are attacking each other on the border. Those that are entrusted to protect our borders now have to face a gun war amongst those who are smuggling illegal aliens across the border.
Nice…
In Aruba its not About the decrease in Tourism, but the Increase in Drugs
So what is the #1 money maker in Aruba, tourism or drugs? Can one only imagine the amount of cocaine, heroine, marijuana, XTC, etc that get through without being confiscated? How can an island have this type a problem when it is so small, confined and every one knows every one?
In the first 11 months of 2006, 3000 kilo cocaine was intercepted in Aruba. This is 9 percent more than in the entire year of 2005.
In the report, Aruba is still being considered as a transfer place for drugs via airplane and cruise ship to the US; not so much to Europe. Besides, it is remarkable that heroine is being mentioned as number one and cocaine as number two, while considering the amounts that were intercepted, you would expect the contrary.
The report in Amigoe states that there are known drug gangs on Aruba. That they are active and that drugs can be purchased at ones convenience. Exactly how is it possible that an island so small where everyone knows everyone that such things are can go on without the police or government’s knowledge? Aruba is only so big. There are only so many places to search and people to question, yet it continues.

Does Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez have his Eye on Aruba? Talk about bad for their Economy
Does Hugo Chavez want to reunify the islands of The Dutch West Indies, including Aruba? Will it be called Venezaruba? What is to stand in his way? The irrational and socialist actions of Hugo Chavez lately make one think that anything is possible when it comes to this demagogue.
With Chavez’s socialist economic and land grab by his government one would begin to worry what Hugo’s intentions are in the Caribbean. Aruba, being a stones throw from Venezuela could be a prime and easy target. Talk about bad for one’s tourist economy and private investment. Remember how quickly Cuba changed from a tourist hot spot to economic disaster. For those that say it could never happen. Would anyone put anything past the insanity of a dictator like Hugo Chavez and what he is capable of?
If anyone wants to wonder why the US government never got more involved in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway and why they did not take Aruba to task, they need only to look to the unstable leader of Venezuela for their answer. Hugo’s actions directly affect American’s homeland security decisions.

Democrats Overplaying their hand Again … Poll Says Americans Want Victory in Iraq
As so many times that they have been guilty of in the past, Democrats are once again overplaying their hand and misreading the tea leaves when it comes to what Americans want with the War in Iraq. Democrats have mistaken their midterm 2006 victorious election to mean a retreat from Iraq. No, that is what the uber-left wants … not America.
Not so fast. During the 2006 midterms many Republicans and Independents were upset with how the war was bing handled, not because they wanted to retreat. Many Republicans & Independents were upset by Republican political scandal. Most importantly many Republicans & Independents were upset with GWB’s amnesty immigration policy. However, Democrats have once again misread the signs.
Now comes a poll that says … Americans want to win in Iraq!
The survey shows Americans want to win in Iraq, and that they understand Iraq is the central point in the war against terrorism and they can support a U.S. strategy aimed at achieving victory, said Neil Newhouse, a partner in POS. The idea of pulling back from Iraq is not where the majority of Americans are.
Most normal thinking Americans understand that a defeat in Iraq would be disastrous to America. Politicians better start thinking what is in the best interest of Americans, not themselves or their political aspirations.
Check out these poll numbers of what Americans are thinking:
- By a 53 percent – 46 percent margin, respondents surveyed said that Democrats are going too far, too fast in pressing the President to withdraw troops from Iraq.
- By identical 57 percent – 41 percent margins, voters agreed with these statements: I support finishing the job in Iraq, that is, keeping the troops there until the Iraqi government can maintain control and provide security and the Iraqi war is a key part of the global war on terrorism.
- Also, by a 56 percent – 43 percent margin, voters agreed that even if they have concerns about his war policies, Americans should stand behind the President in Iraq because we are at war.
Hillary, Barack and the rest of the pull out at all cost Democrats better take a good look. See full article and poll numbers HERE. Stop playing politics with this issue. Our troops and our national security is not to be used for Presidential aspirations.
