CDC Says It Is Starting to “Rethink” the Ebola Strategy
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!
Ebola was first discovered in 1976 near the Ebola River in what is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo and over 30 years later the CDC does not have an ironclad strategy and response to it. WHAT!!! Now after the Feds ineptitude and their spokes people looking like the keystone cops, now the CDC says they are going to start to rethink their strategy. GOD HELP US!
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday said it is starting to “rethink” its Ebola strategy after the first-ever US transmission of the virus put a “relatively large” number of healthcare workers at risk.
“We’re concerned, and unfortunately would not be surprised if we did see additional [Ebola] cases in healthcare workers who also provided care to the index patient,” CDC Director Tom Frieden said.
A nurse at Texas Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas was diagnosed with Ebola over the weekend, raising questions about the procedures that were followed when treating Thomas Eric Duncan.
The nurse’s infection “doesn’t change the fact that its possible to take care of Ebola safely, but it does change, substantially, how we approach it,” Frieden said.
Frieden said the government would work with state health departments, hospitals, and outside agencies to bolster outreach and training about handling the virus. That effort will “increase awareness of Ebola and increase the ability to respond rapidly,” Frieden said.
Dr. Gil Mobley Dresses Up in Ebola Protection Suit at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport To Protest the CDC … The CDC is “Asleep at the Wheel”
Not everyone thinks the CDC is doing a good job and are being honest with the American people with regards to Ebola. Dr. Gil Mobley protested the CDC”s actions or inaction when it comes to screening for Ebola by dressing up in an Ebola protection suit at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International. Dr. Mobley believes that the CDC is “asleep at the wheel” when it comes to screening passengers arriving in the United States from other countries. It does make one wonder why at the very least there has not been some type of travel ban or restrictions placed on individuals traveling from known Ebola infested countries. At the very least one would think that they would be quarantined until deemed safe.
“Yesterday, I came through international customs at the Atlanta airport,” the doctor told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “The only question they asked arriving passengers is if they had tobacco or alcohol.”
Two days after a man in Texas was diagnosed with Ebola, a Missouri doctor Thursday morning showed up at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport dressed in protective gear to protest what he called mismanagement of the crisis by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Gil Mobley checked in and cleared airport security wearing a mask, goggles, gloves, boots and a hooded white jumpsuit emblazoned on the back with the words, “CDC is lying!”
“If they’re not lying, they are grossly incompetent,” said Mobley, a microbiologist and emergency trauma physician from Springfield, Mo.
Mobley said the CDC is “sugar-coating” the risk of the virus spreading in the United States.
UPDATE I: An American cameraman working with NBC has tested positive for Ebola.
An American freelance cameraman working for NBC News in Liberia has tested positive for Ebola and will be flown back to the U.S. for treatment.
The freelancer, Ashoka Mukpo, 33, was hired Tuesday to be a second cameraman for NBC News Chief Medical Editor and Correspondent Dr. Nancy Snyderman. Snyderman is with three other NBC News employees on assignment in Monrovia, reporting on the Ebola outbreak.
In a note to staff, NBC News President Deborah Turness said: “We are doing everything we can to get him the best care possible. He will be flown back to the United States for treatment at a medical center that is equipped to handle Ebola patients.
“We are also taking all possible measures to protect our employees and the general public,” Turness added in the note. “The rest of the crew, including Dr. Nancy, are being closely monitored and show no symptoms or warning signs. However, in an abundance of caution, we will fly them back on a private charter flight and then they will place themselves under quarantine in the United States for 21 days — which is at the most conservative end of the spectrum of medical guidance.”

Liberia Ebola Infected Patient in Dallas, TX ID’d as Thomas Eric Duncan … Was Initially Sent Home By ER after Telling Nurse he Travelled From West Africa
ARE YOU KIDDING ME … EBOLA INFECTED PATIENT WAS INITIALLY SENT HOME FROM ER!!!
The Ebola infected individual who came by plane to the United States and is presently in a Dallas, Texas hospital has been identified as Thomas Eric Duncan. This is the first diagnosed case of Ebola in the United States. However, little by little we are starting to learn all of the details to this story that I am sure the government and the CDC would like to keep quiet. It would appear that … initially went to the ER with a fever and abdominal pain and was sent home. Oh, did we mention the patient also stated that he told the medical staff that he was from Ebola ravished West Africa? HOW IN THE HELL DID THIS NOT RAISE A RED FLAG!!! Note to medical folks, individual from West Africa + fever + (abdominal pain or vomiting or diarrhea) = possible Ebola and immediate quarantine.
The hospital is calling it a failure to communicate? WHAT!!! How ignorantly sloppy could you possibly be? How could anyone in the healthcare industry not communicate that some one was from Ebola infested West Africa and presenting some of the symptoms of Ebola and not make that a priority? As the Daily Caller reminds us of the thousands of cases of Ebola in Liberia, how could this ER staff have dropped the ball so badly. Liberia only has a population of about 4 million people.
Liberia has been the hardest hit by the Ebola outbreak. As of Sept. 29, the CDC reported 3,458 total cases in Liberia and 1,830 deaths. Patients with flu-like symptoms who have recently traveled from endemic regions, especially Liberia, should have been a red flag for the hospital.
The airline passenger who brought Ebola into the U.S. initially went to a Dallas emergency room last week but was sent home, despite telling a nurse that he had been in disease-ravaged West Africa, the hospital said Wednesday in a disclosure that showed how easily an infection could be missed.
The decision by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital to release the patient, who had recently arrived from Liberia, could have put others at risk of exposure to Ebola before the man went back to the ER a couple of days later, when his condition worsened.
A day after the diagnosis was confirmed, a nine-member team of federal health officials was tracking anyone who had close contact with him after he fell ill on Sept. 24. The group of 12 to 18 people included three members of the ambulance crew that took the man to the hospital and a handful of schoolchildren.
Hospital epidemiologist Dr. Edward Goodman said the patient had a fever and abdominal pain during his first ER visit, not the riskier symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.
But the diagnosis, and the hospital’s slip-up, highlighted the wider threat of Ebola, even in places far from West Africa.
“The scrutiny just needs to be higher now,” said Dr. Rade Vukmir, a spokesman for the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Ebola is believed to have sickened more than 7,100 people in West Africa and killed more than 3,300, according to the World Health Organization. Liberia is one of the three hardest-hit countries in the epidemic, along with Sierra Leone and Guinea.

First Diagnosed Case of Ebola in the United States
Great, first diagnosed case of Ebola in the United States, what’s next … the Bubonic plague?
The CDC, Center for Disease Control, confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that an unidentified man who traveled by plane from Liberia to Dallas, Texas has been diagnosed and has tested positive for the Ebola virus. The individual has been in “strict isolation” at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital since September 29. This is a first and hardly one to stand up and cheer about. This is the first reported diagnosed case of Ebola in the United States. The CDC director stated later in a press conference that the patient’s condition as “critically ill.”
Who thinks that maybe individuals not only need to be screened and checked for fever before they get on a plane from Liberia and countries stricken with Ebola, but when they get off as well? How about they need to be isolated and quarantined fr a period of time until the incubation period id over? Hmm?
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free Ebola.”
Officials with the Centers for Disease Control have confirmed that a person in Dallas definitely has the Ebola virus. Tuesday’s official determination makes the patient, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, the first diagnosed Ebola case in the United States.
Officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Texas Department of State Health Services, Presbyterian Hospital and Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) all participated in an afternoon press conference. CDC Director Thomas Frieden related the information that the individual who tested positive had traveled to Liberia. The person left Liberia on September 19 and arrived in the United States on September 20 with no virus symptoms. Frieden said it was four or five days later that the patient, who is believed to be male, began developing symptoms and was ultimately admitted to Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas on Sunday, September 28.
“We received in our laboratory today specimens from the individual, tested them and they tested positive for Ebola. The State of Texas also operates a laboratory that found the same results,” Frieden said. After the confirmation statement Frieden went on to stress that the testing for Ebola is very accurate, saying that it’s a PCR test of blood.
A patient being treated at a Dallas hospital is the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States, health officials announced Tuesday.
The unidentified man left Liberia on September 19 and arrived in the United States on September 20, said Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
At that time, the individual did not have symptoms. “But four or five days later,” he began to exhibit them, Frieden said. The individual was hospitalized and isolated Sunday at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.
Citing privacy concerns, health officials declined to release any details about how the patient contracted the virus or how he was being treated.
The patient is believed to have had a handful of contacts with people after showing symptoms of the virus, and before being isolated, Frieden said. A CDC team was en route to Texas to help investigate those contacts, and Texas Gov. Rick Perry will be in Dallas on Wednesday to hold a news conference.

Where Are the Black Leaders on This … 72% of the Babies Aborted in Mississippi Are Black Between 1995 and 2010 … More Black Babies Aborted Than Born in NYC in 2012
Where is the outrage from Barack Obama, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and other black political and religious leaders on the genocide of black babies?
As reported at CNS News, data published by the CDC, although whites far outnumbered blacks in Mississippi by a 2 to 1 margin, 71.67% of the babies aborted are black, while only 26.6% are white during the years of 1995 and 2010. The reports shows that in some years, the percentages were even higher, in 2009, for example, the percentage of black babies killed by abortion in Mississippi in relation to the total was 76.8%. In 2007, it was 77.8%; in 2005, 77.2% Protein Wisdom makes a startling but true and valid point, “It’s like ‘Mississippi Burning’, only instead of redneck Klan members (who were Democrats, let’s remember), we now have the “pro-woman” “choice” crowd pushing its agenda on a race Margaret Sanger …”.
Where is Barack Obama saying that he could have been that aborted baby as he did when he interjected himself into the Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman murder trial? Where is the outrage of this genocide?
MISSISSIPPI BURNING ABORTING
Although whites outnumber blacks in Mississippi by nearly 2-to-1, 71.67% of the babies aborted in Mississippi are black, while 26.6% are white.
Based on data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 39,052 black babies were killed by abortions in Mississippi between 1995 and 2010. During that same time period, 14,529 white babies were aborted in the Magnolia State.
The total number of abortions between 1995 and 2010 in Mississippi was 54,484. In addition to blacks and whites, that number also includes abortions among Hispanics, “Other” (meaning Asian and Native American), and “Unknown,” as published by the CDC.
The data from the CDC should make black leaders cringe, but instead they are silent. So who profits and who loses from Planned Parenthood?
Year White Abortions Black Abortions
2010 415 1,646
2009 499 1,871
2008 611 2,079
2007 583 2,254
2006 665 2,250
2005 672 2,348
2004 837 2,650
2003 957 2,764
2002 970 2,605
2001 960 2,574
2000 1,039 2,659
1999 1,060 2,754
1998 1,215 2,702
1997 1,418 2,852
1996 1,340 2,805
1995 1,288 2,239
TOTAL: 14,529 39,052
But wait, it gets worse. Also reported by CNS News, more black babies were killed by abortion in New York City than born.
In 2012, there were more black babies killed by abortion (31,328) in New York City than were born there (24,758), and the black children killed comprised 42.4% of the total number of abortions in the Big Apple, according to a report by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
The report is entitled, Summary of Vital Statistics 2012 The City of New York, Pregnancy Outcomes, and was prepared by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Office of Vital Statistics. (See Pregnancy Outcomes NYC Health 2012.pdf)
