Food Stamp Fraud … Individuals Selling Food Stamps for Cash on Craigslist

Barack Obama, the food stamp president, it appears the program is rife with fraud.

CAN YOU SAY FOOD STAMP FRAUD? Isn’t this special, as the United States has record number of people on food stamps it appears that many are turning the government hand out and your tax dollars into a way to make some quick cash on Craigslist.   Food stamps are not supposed to be transferred or resold, and the Craigslist’s policy actually lists them among the items that are not allowed to be sold or bartered on their web site. However, unless some one flags them, they claim they can do little. Seriously? A web site does not even monitor itself? One can imagine that the fraud and abuse is rampant withing this government hand out program if individuals are so brazen to sell them on a public website like Craigslist. But the question is, how can something so easy to be researched not being cracked down on by the feds? One can only imagine why individuals want cash for something that is intended to by food. How about Congress pass a law that says the punishment for reselling food stamps in 10 to 15 years in prison? I bet that would stop a lot of this nonsense.

Imagine the amount of money that the American tax payers could be saved if the feds actually went after fraud and abuse?

Food stamp recipients are turning the government handouts into quick cash with ads on Craigslist, despite efforts to stem fraud.

The federally-funded grocery assistance coupons — which are issued by states in the form of debit cards under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — are being sold on the online bulletin board as well as auction sites like eBay. FoxNews.com found several offerings at Craigslist sites around the country, where the sellers offered the welfare benefits at large discounts from face value.

“If you need food. This is not a gimmick or game,” read one posting from Philadelphia. “Please let me know, I have food stamps for sale….. Serious Replies only!!!”

“I have $500 worth and it costs $350 cash. No I will not do half!” read another posting from the Atlanta area. “I don’t need to sell. If you would like to get an extra $150 to $175 in grocery and pay no taxes and can see the benefit that you will still be saving then email me or call me and we can arrange the whole deal as soon as you like.”

EXIT QUESTION: How about the government actually crack down on fraud and abuse rather than always asking for an increase in taxes?

Michigan Bills Would Require Individuals to Work For Welfare and Pass Drug Test

Well, it is about time … Barack Obama always talks about having skin in the game, I am sure he would support this.

There are two Michigan bill, one in the Senate that would require those receiving welfare to do some “volunteer” work, while a second in the House would require drug testing in order for recipients to receive public assistance. This should not only exists in states, it should be a federal law. In order to gain public assistance, one should have to give back to the community and at the very least, not be a drug addict. If an individual has to pass a drug test in order to get a job in the United States, why would the same not be true to receive welfare? One should have to meet a standard to get tax payer government assistance, otherwise, where is their skin in the game?

A bill has passed in the Michigan Senate that would require those receiving public assistance to do some “volunteer” work. Another bill, which passed the House Commerce Committee, requires drug testing, revoking benefits for welfare recipients who refuse the test or who test positive.

“What [the legislation] does, it says, in order for your to receive your cash assistance, your welfare check, you must provide some kind of community service to the community,” said the volunteer work bill’s sponsor, State Senator Joe Hune, who represents  Livingston and Shiawasse counties in Mid-Michigan.

Hune says he was inspired by a constituent who began to volunteer while on welfare — and that community service evolved into full employment.

“The whole intention is to make certain folks have some skin in the game, and I don’t feel that there’s any problem with making folks go out and do some kind of community service in order to receive their cash assistance,” Hune said.

This individual is just one of the many that are abusing the system at the expense of hard working Americans.

“Wake up, go down to the beach, hang out with my friends, hit on some chicks, start drinking,” Greenslate told John Roberts of Fox News for “The Great Food Stamp Binge” special Friday.

With food stamp participation having increased at an annual rate of roughly 13 percent since 2008—costing taxpayers nearly $80 million last year, Red Alert Politics said—the likes of Greenslate aren’t anomalies.

The only thing we can hope for is that individuals like Greenslate are too wasted to vote.

Donald Trump Warns GOP at Family Leadership Summit in Iowa … Immigration Bill (Amnesty) “Could Be a Death Wish’ for Republican Party”

Does it really take Donald Trump to state the obvious for Republicans to get a clue? Obviously, it does. 

Donald Trump spoke at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa on Saturday and warned the GOP of the dangers of passing immigration reform. The event was organized by The Family Leader, a Christian conservative organization. Donald Trump warned the GOP that the proposed immigration bill will be a “death wish” for the Republican Party. Trump went on to say that border security is a must. The Donald is correct. For anyone, especially Republicans, who thinks that the 11 to 15 million illegals in the United States are going to vote for the GOP, you are delusional. For any one who thinks at the illegals will be tax payers are delusional as well. We already have a bout 50% of Americans who do not pay federal income taxes, what category do you think illegals will fall? Let alone the additional subsidies, welfare, food stamps and other entitlement programs. We cannot afford the current welfare state, how are we going to be able to afford the one with 11+ million more illegals and the rest that pour over the border that a government refuses to protect?

He warned the Family Leadership Summit in an evening speech that Republicans will have a “really tough” time in the 2016 presidential race if Hillary Clinton runs. He said the Senate’s immigration bill “could be a death wish” for the Republican Party but insisted the GOP has to do “the right thing.” And he bragged about buying the old Post Office building in Washington: “You have the White House, you have Congress and I’m building right in the middle!”

Amnesty for illegals will not only be the death of the Republican party, it will be the death of the United States as we know it. Imagine this, we already have an unsustainable welfare states, now we are going to add another 11 million to it and make matters worse? The point of a responsible immigration policy is to let the right people in to sustain the country, not add 90% low income workers just because the entered our country illegally and broke our laws.

Imagine allowing 11 million new Democrat voters into America who become part of the “what can the government give me” class. How could the GOP ever win another election?

NY Food Stamp Recipients Shipping Welfare Funded Groceries to Relatives in Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Haiti

Yup, no fraud here (NOT!!!) … What would you expect from a welfare entitlement program?

Isn’t that special. It is bad enough that food stamps are at record highs under President Barack Obama, but now we learn that the welfare program is full of welfare abuse and fraud. Michael Tanner, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute told The Post, “I don’t want food-stamp police to see what people do with their rice and beans, but it’s wrong.” Why not? The over-intrusive, big government seems to care about everything else we do from what we eat, the size of the drink we have and with the revelations of the NSA spying, pretty much every call, email and letter we send. So why not crack down on welfare fraud? Are these people some how special? Last time I checked, fraud was fraud. This is a crime folks, now its just a matter of whether any one is willing to enforce it.

Food stamps are paying for trans-Atlantic takeout — with New Yorkers using taxpayer-funded benefits to ship food to relatives in Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Welfare recipients are buying groceries with their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards and packing them in giant barrels for the trip overseas, The Post found.

The practice is so common that hundreds of 45- to 55-gallon cardboard and plastic barrels line the walls of supermarkets in almost every Caribbean corner of the city.

The feds say the moveable feasts go against the intent of the $86 billion welfare program for impoverished Americans.

A spokeswoman for the US Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service said welfare benefits are reserved for households that buy and prepare food together. She said states should intervene if people are caught shipping nonperishables abroad.

Michael Tanner, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, called it just another example of welfare abuse.

“I don’t want food-stamp police to see what people do with their rice and beans, but it’s wrong,” Tanner told The Post. “The purpose of this program is to help Americans who don’t have enough to eat. This is not intended as a form of foreign aid.”

Well at least the food stamp cards are not being used at strip clubs, liquor stores or porn shops. Oh wait, they were.
